DESCRIPTION

A fun to knit (and wear) top down sweater with just the right amount of lace detailing. Speckled yarn
and fluffy mohair add tons of appeal to this otherwise simple knit. Choose short or long sleeves!

NOTES
This sweater is worked from the top down with raglan shaping. A small section of short rows are
worked at the back of the neck and at the bottom hem to help with fit. The neckband is picked up and
knit last to create a more stable edging, since this sweater is designed to have a large neck opening.
Sleeve instructions are written to use DPNs, however an alternate method of working small circum-
ferences can be used, such as a short circular needle for the larger sizes. Pattern is written for your
choice of short above the elbow length sleeves, or long wrist length sleeves. See yarn amounts.

STITCH GUIDE
M1L (make 1 stitch left leaning)
Insert left needle, from front to back, under strand of yarn which runs between next st on left needle
and last st on right needle; knit this st through back loop (1 stitch increased)

M1R (make 1 stitch left leaning)


Insert left needle, from back to front, under strand of yarn which runs between next st on left needle
and last st on right needle: knit this st through front loop (1 stitch increased)

Sl, k2tog, psso


Slip one st knitwise, from the left hand to the right hand needle. Knit the next two sts on the left
hand needle together (k2tog). Using the left hand needle tip, lift the slipped stitch up and over the
k2tog, and off the right hand needle tip. (2 stitches decreased)

Ssk (slip, slip, knit)


Slip two stitches knit-wise one at a time from LH needle to RH needle. Insert point of LH needle
into front of two slipped stitches and knit them together with right needle (1 stitch decreased)

w&t (wrap & turn)


Slip next st to the RH needle, take yarn to opposite side of work between needles, slip same st back
onto LH needle. Turn work, ready to begin working in opposite direction.
Conceal Wrap on the knit side:
Slip the RH needle under the wrap and knit it together with the st that it wraps.
Conceal Wrap on the purl side:
With the RH needle, pick up the wrap from underneath on the opposite side, and lift it up on to the
LH needle, then purl it together with the st that it wraps.
