YARN: 630/750 yards of Aran weight yarn to obtain
gauge
GAUGE: 16 sts x 22 rows=10 cm/4 inches in
stockinette stitch using larger needles after blocking
ABBREVIATIONS
CO/BO – cast on/bind off
BOR – beginning of the round

k – knit
p – purl
p(s)m – place (slip) marker
m1l(p) – make one left, with left hand needle pick up
bar between stitches from front to back and knit(purl)

DIRECTIONS
Using smaller needle CO 64/72 sts (tubular CO
recommended) join to work in the round, pm for BOR.
Work 20 rounds in 1x1 ribbing (k1, p1) for mock neck or
40 rounds for turtle neck. Switch to larger needles.
Work following set of short rows to shape the neckline:
The BOR m is at your right shoulder.
Row 1: sm, k1 loosely, pm, m1l, k2, w+t (+1 sts)
Row 2: p to m, m1lp, sm, p1 loosely, sm, m1rp, p31/35,
m1lp, pm, p1 loosely, pm, m1rp, p2, w+t (+4)
= 65/69 sts for front and for back
Note: always work the shoulder line st (1 st between 2
markers) loosely Place back sts onto scrap yarn.
