1. What do you understand by the term 'Multimedia'?
Multimedia is the system that uses media-sound, musk, videos, internet tools etc.

and co-ordinates various devices of communication and entertainment electronics
with Personal Computer. A personal computer can also control multimedia devices
but with the help of software. Multimedia finds its application mainly in the field of
education and entertainment.

displayed live on a computer or projected to display it to a large audience.
3. What are the points to be taken care of before planning a presentation?
Before creating a presentation, we should keep the following points in your mind when
planning a presentation:
• Write down the topic on which you are going to create the presentation.
• Prepare a list of the main points and sub-points you want to include in your slides.
· • Mention the contents of each slide along with the slide number.
• Visualise slide transitions that you would want to include to make your presentation
impressive.
• Before presenting the slide show, you should rehearse your presentation.
4. Write down all the steps to create a presentation by Installed Themes.
If you want to create a presentation by using Themes, follow these steps:
• Click 'File' button.
• Select 'New' from the drop-down list. • Click 'Themes: which is available on the right side
of the task pane. The system displays a list of themes. You can select the theme most
appropriate for the topic of your presentation.
• Finally, click 'Create'. A blank slide with the selected theme will appear on your
screen
5. What is the significance of slide transition in a PowerPoint presentation?
Slide transition is a special effect applied to slides when you display the next slide
during the slide show. It determines how the current slide switches to the next.
6. Write down the steps to provide background colour with solid fill in a
presentation.
To apply solid colour to your slides, perform these steps:
• Select the slide.
• Click 'Format' tab which is available in the menu bar.
• Click on 'Background Styles'. The Format Background window appears on the
screen.
 • Click 'Solid Fill'.
• Click down arrow (T ) of the colour button.
• Click 'More Colours'. A Colours window appears on the ·screen
• After clicking 'Standard' tab, select the appropriate. colour by moving colour tab.
• · Now, click 'Custom' tab to choose the shade.

7. How will you add sound to your slide during slide transition? Explain.
The system allows you to add music or sound to a slide to make the presentation
more effective. It means that the presentation can now have audio-visual effects. This
task can be done by following these steps:
• Select the slide to which you want to add audio effect.
• Click 'Insert' tab.
• Click 'Audio' button followed by 'Audio from File:
• An Insert Audio window appears on the screen.
• Browse the sound file that you want to add.
• Double-dick on the particular sound file.
The 'Sound icon' will appear on your slide.
8. Write down all the steps to add custom animation to your slide.
Animation effects help you to highlight the important parts of your presentation. The
custom animation allows you to add different visual effects to a slide. Through the
animation effects, you can make your slide show more interactive.
• Click 'Animations' tab that is available in menu bar. It displays various animation
effects under categories-Entrance, Emphasis, Exit and Motion.
• When you click on various options under Entrance effect, it shows the animation
effect of the selected slide. If you want to add more 'Entrance Effects: click 'More
Entrance Effects:
• Select the effect in the 'Change Entrance Effect'
window and it will be added to the Animations tab.
You will also notice that when an animation effect is
added to a slide, 'Effect. Option' button also appears
under Animation tab.
• Select the effect 'Fly In' (for e.g.) and click the 'Effect
Options' button.
• From the drop-down list, select the direction in
which you want to apply the effect to the slide. The
effect will appear on the slide.
The effect of the element in a slide· is indicated by a tag number. Now, repeat the
process for rest of the elements of the slide. When you click 'Play' button, you will
be able to preview the effects.
