SOCCER.-
Soccer (from the British English football ), also known as football , is a team sport played
between two teams of eleven players each and some referees who ensure that the rules are
followed correctly. It is widely considered the most popular sport in the world, with some
270 million people practicing it.
The playing field is rectangular made of natural or artificial grass , with a goal or arch on
each side of the field. It is played with a ball that must be moved across the field with any
part of the body other than the arms or hands, and mostly with the feet (hence its name).
The objective is to introduce it into the opposing goal or goal , an action called scoring a
goal . The team that scores the most goals at the end of the match, which lasts 90 minutes ,
is the winner of the match.
The modern game was reinvented in England following the formation of the Football
Association , whose 1863 rules are the basis of the sport today. The governing body of
football is the Fédération International de Football Association , better known by its
acronym FIFA. The most prestigious international soccer competition is the Soccer World
Cup , organized every four years by said organization. This event is the most famous and
the one with the largest number of spectators in the world, doubling the audience of the
Olympic Games .
INDOOR FOOTBALL.-
Variant of soccer that is played between two teams of five players on a field 24 m to 28 m
long by 13 m to 15 m wide and with a harder and smaller ball; The meeting lasts 40
minutes, divided into two equal parts.
BEACH SOCCER.-
Beach soccer is a type of soccer that is played on a smooth sand surface, between two
teams of five players each whose objective is to score more goals than the opposing team.
FOOTBALL.-
American football is a contact sport in which two teams of players try to get the ball into
the end zone or kick it between the goalposts. The attacking team has four downs to
advance 10 yards (9 meters); Once he achieves it he has four more attempts to advance
another ten yards. Each attempt allows one forward pass, and ends when the opposing team
knocks down the ball carrier or a ball falls to the ground.
ARCHERY.-
Archery is a sport that involves shooting an arrow at a target . Its origin must be sought in
the use of this weapon as a hunting instrument and as an instrument of war . With the
appearance of firearms, it became obsolete as a "professional" instrument for general use
and its use was relegated to sporting and leisure use. It has been part of the Olympic sports
program since the 1900 Paris Olympic Games . [ citation needed ] The term for this sport in Latin
American countries may be archery, which is easily confused with the architectural concept
of archery , even with the manufacture of the bows themselves. The person who practices
archery is called a goalkeeper, an expression that can also refer to the goalkeeper of a
soccer team.
BASEBALL.-
Baseball (from English : baseball ), also called baseball or base ball , 1 is a team sport
played between two teams of nine players each.
It is considered one of the most popular sports in Australia , Canada , Colombia , South
Korea , Cuba , United States , Netherlands , Italy , Japan , Mexico , Nicaragua , Panama ,
Puerto Rico , Dominican Republic , South Africa , Taiwan and Venezuela . The countries
considered powers of this sport are concentrated in America ( North , Central , Caribbean )
and Asia , with the European and African continents being the furthest behind. [ citation needed ]
However, Europe has two good exponents (Holland and Italy); and in Africa only the South
African team stands out, which has some good talents. [ citation needed ]
It is played on a large field completely covered by natural or artificial grass , with the
exception of the area called the runner's line, where the offensive players run to reach the
bases (located at the vertices of the quadrangular area called diamond ) and score , as well
as as the pitcher's area (where the terrain is a hill of dirt).
CRIKECT.-
Cricket (from the English cricket ) is a bat and ball sport, in which two teams of eleven
players each compete. It is played on a grass field, more or less oval (elliptical), whose
extension must not be less than that of a soccer field. In the center of the field there is a
rectangular piece of land known as the pitch .
Originating in its organized form in England , cricket is popular primarily in the countries
of the Commonwealth of Nations . In the countries of the Indian Subcontinent , it is the
sport of the masses.
GOLF.-
Golf is a precision sport whose objective is to introduce a ball into the holes that are
distributed on the course with the fewest number of strokes, using for each type of stroke
one of a set of clubs that are slightly different from each other, since the Club head has
different degrees just like the shafts have different lengths. The fewer the degrees, the
longer the rod is and therefore the greater the distance. A maximum of 14 clubs can be
carried. The one who practices golf is called a golfer .
SUMO.-
Sumo (相撲( Japanese ) sumō ? ) or sumo wrestling is a type of wrestling where two rival
wrestlers or rikishi face each other in a circular area. It is of Japanese origin and maintains
much of the ancient Shinto tradition.
Despite the large number of pre- and post-fight Shinto rituals, the rules themselves are few
and not complex:
1. The first wrestler to touch the ground with any part of his body except the soles of
his feet is eliminated.
2. The first wrestler to make contact with the outside of the wrestling circle (either
with their feet or any other part of their body) is eliminated.
3. A wrestler who uses an illegal technique or kinjite , such as eye punches, chokes,
hair pulling, punches, joint dislocations, or others; is eliminated.
4. If a wrestler loses his mawashi (the only clothing used during a sumo match), he is
eliminated.
