Time Management for Effective Writing
1.Event Introduction and Initial Impressions:
The event was about the role of time management in writing effectively. Ilham Ali Yusif
(PMP, PMI-ACP) was sharing tactics about effective time management and ways to
develop proactive mindset for writing as a purpose.
We were given some information about Ilham Ali Yusif before the event via email. The
information contained his background experience mostly. He was an experienced
expert with a strong international background in projects, programs, and business
analytics.
Event was organized in a way which the audience (students and participants from our
university) was comfortable enough to ask questions after the speaker was giving a
speech to inform them firstly.
When the speaker introduced himself, we learnt that his qualifications include the PMP,
PMI-ACP and Google Project Management certificates, as well as the Salesforce
Administrator, Business Analyst, and AI Associate certifications. We were amazed at his
skills, such as establishing and upholding connections with stakeholders at all levels,
including middle management, directors, partners, and C-Level. All of the participants
were listening to his speech excitedly, some of them taking notes for ask questions later
when he finished his speech.
2.Key Takeaways and Perspectives:
The main topics and themes covered his experience in projects, programs, and business
analytics, moreover his skills such as establishingand upholding connections with
skateholders at levels, additionaly his background and personal success including his
professional development. On the other hand, he discussed how all these were related
to time management’s effective role in writing.
He mentioned that while delivering training courses on different management and
topics related to behavioral skills to different local and international companies,
understands business needs for organizational and professional development, as well
as personal success.
I understood the importance of time management in effective writing while the speaker
was sharing his opinion and thought on this topic.
From my point of view, the tactics he shared with us were quite helpful while we took
Writing and Information Literacy 1 course. Fortunately, hearing all these tactics which
put to real life experience from his perspective was another useful information we
accomplished.
3.Personal Reflections and Connections:
Reflect on how the event content relates to your personal experiences or academic
studies.
The tactics about time management made me think of my own routine and the time I
spend on my studies. Not only in the university, but we also have other things that we
spend our time learning which are not related to studies. If to talk only about academic
studies, I can tell the event concept was one of the most relative and most discussed
topics in our life as students because of the difficulty we face during our academic life.
Although the moments and the event didn’t resonate me fully, the topic made me
question it from my own point of view and change something while using the
information I got from the event.
While thinking about mywn interests, goals or future plans, the topic made me realize
there were other option to achieve them in an easier way if we benefit from the time we
have. I made some changes to my plans using those tactics the speaker mentioned.
All I can say is this event influenced my thoughts in a good way. My actions for future
were affected while thinking of the content and discussing it with the speaker.
4.Impact on Learning and Future Considerations:
Even though I was not able to use all methods mentioned by Ilham Ali Yusif, but I was
able to benefit from some of them while I was experiencing hard times during the
writing course I take in the university.
The part where the speaker explained the importance of time management was the
most valueable part for me because the way he talk convinced me to question it myself
as well and make some changes to my life while worrying about my future instead of
wasting that valuable time.
This event might not affect my future choice or perspective, however this might affect
studies in a good way. I have been using those tactics since the event and I think of
using them while I study here until graduation.
I was mostly amazed by his qualifications, I didn’t understand all but would like to try his
tactics in those fields such as those different managements. I would like to explore
more about Business Analyst projects and AI Associate certifications based on
experience.
Bahar Youth Festival
1.Event Introduction and Initial Impressions:
The event theme was based on the spirit of Novruz that was coming alive. The purpose
of event was to entertain the students of the university while serving traditional sweets
and cookies which are usually baked during the holiday mentioned.
My expectation was a musical event with so many students dancing and some
traditional games based on the theme. While students have fun, they could taste the
traditional pastaries from Azerbaijan’s national cuisine.
The Festival includedan entertaning program with DJ China, a national dance group
performance, national carpets and traditional antique exhibitions, tea/national sweets
service, and of course, jumping over a bonfire called Tongal.
As soon as the event started, we were given a t-shirt and a cap with the logo of Coca-
Cola Company. For the beverage, tea and fizzy drinks sponsored by Coca-Cola Company
were served, on the other hand, there was an open bufet area tob grab cookies and
traditional sweets. Some entertaning music was being played by the DJ. Traditional
games, such as egg fighting, were played with the presidents of the club which made the
event more fun.

The theme was mainly Novruz in the spring meaning they demonstraded traditions and
related perfomaces during the event. The speaker was the head of ADA Watchmen and
Cordinator of the Clubs Mehdi Huseynov. He broadly spoke about the history and the
meaning of this holiday celebrated by Azerbaijanis every year.
He pointed out the main symbols of Novruz holiday, such as pakhlava and shakarbura,
and showing the photo of grown malt plant called Samani on the big screen. He gave
information about how Azerbaijani people celebrate this holiday every year. The big tray
with pastries and seed cookies such as walnuts, hazel-nuts, almonds and etc.
How did the speakers or presenters contribute to your understanding?
The main speaker was Mehdi Huseynov and we could clearly understand him as he was
talking about the theme of this festival. His part was not so long. The majority of the
festival was just music playing and the students dancing, having fun while being treated
with traditional sweets and cookies.
From my point of view, this event was one of the interesting activities for students in the
social life category. Students had fun before the holiday while being together, making
memories.
3.Personal Reflections and Connections:
As it was not related to education and academic studies, this only related to personal
experience. Although we work hard at university, it was a great opportunity to rest and
be away from all those problems and issues.
Personally, as I am an introverted person, I do not usually feel confident while being
around so many people. However, this event had something that all students were
comfortable with each other and came together as a community throughout all those
games and music. As a result, I felt relaxed and socialized, as well as made friends by
attending this event.
Not only about the content, but I also made a connection between my own interest and
one of the perfomances which was demonstrated during the event. As I am really into
music and want to be in control of it everytime, seeing a DJ perform in front of me in
real life made me realize my goal related to music. I think I want to try some new things
in this field as well considering it as a hobby.
As I mentioned above, I think I will try to test my toleration towards this new decision,
and actually try It with professional to see if I really want or fit into this goal. I am looking
forward to do all these as soon as possible.
4.Impact on Learning and Future Considerations:
I think I was quiet stressed about the courses I am currently taking and this event made
me distract myself and then think about it with a healthy mindset instead of a tired
mental.
The Speaker’s speech about the history of the holiday which was the main theme of the
festival was valuable for those who has no idea about our culture.
This event helped me unlock a new interest that I want to be busy with when I have free
time. From another perspective, this might direct me to another type of goal related to
my interests such as music.
To my mind, participating in more music festivals with youngers would help to increase
my socializing skills while decreasing that social anxiety.
