Apa yang dimaksud dengan Asking and Offering Help?
Asking Help adalah ungkapan dalam Bahasa Inggris yang digunakan
untuk meminta bantuan kepada orang lain.
Offering Help adalah ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menawarkan bantuan/
jasa kepada orang lain dengan menggunakan kalimat Bahasa Inggris.

Mrs Laura: Hi, sweety… have you finished your school homework?
Jimmy : Yes, mom. I‟ve already done it.
Mrs Laura: Good boy… There is your milk in the refrigerator.
Jimmy : Okay, mom. I‟ll take it. Mom…?

If clause + a general truth If you don‟t put cherries on it, your cake will look pale and dull.

Note/ Catatan:
1. An „if clause‟ is in present tense. Artinya bahwa „if clause dalam bentuk present.
2. Struktur kalimat imperative:
(+) Verb base (Vo) + Object/ complement
(-) Don‟t + Vo + Object/ complement
(-) Don‟t + Be + Adjective (kata sifat)
Yang mana semua struktur tersebut dapat diikuti dengan kata „please‟.
3. Untuk sebuah saran/ nasehat dapat menggunakan modal „should‟ atau pertanyaan „why
don’t you….?‟

Create sentences using if clauses followed by imperative or suggestions, based on the following
situation.
1. Your friend is going to a computer fair this afternoon. You went there yesterday, so
suggest to him/ her what he/ she should do?
2. Your brother asks you to shut down the computer when you have finished typing your
assignment.
3. Your younger sister is going to visit her friend‟s mother in hospital. You suggest she
takes fruits.
4. Your mother is going to go to the stationary, you ask her a new drawing book.
5. Your older brother will go to Bali for vacation, you suggest him to be careful with the
pickpocket.
