Getting Started with LMS

LMS is internet-based application which can be accessed via direct URL https://elearn.isb.edu/my/
from anywhere in the world.
(OR)

Accessibility from Atrium: Open atrium (http://atrium) --> Online Services --> Click on the hyperlink
"PGP LMS" to re-direct to the LMS Page.

LMS login is O365 authentication, click on Microsoft O365 login and enter your ISB email address and
password. System will auto authenticate, if you are already logged in to your email.
After logging in, you will be taken to LMS Landing Page (Dashboard).

As shown in above fig. LMS landing page contains many blocks or areas which you can navigate
through to perform different activities.

Click on Hamburger Menu Icon and Arrow icons to expand or hide the blocks

A brief description of the blocks shown on landing page is given below:

Custom Course Menu block


This will automatically show a list of courses you are enrolled in when you are logged in. You
can directly access your enrolled courses from here. You can click on start editing and change the
course order.

Calendar and Upcoming events blocks:

The Calendar and Upcoming events blocks help you keep track of upcoming due dates and events in
your courses. Both blocks are linked to the Calendar which is automatically updated when activities
with due dates (e.g., Zoom, Assignments or quizzes) are added to a course. You can directly access the
activities by clicking the links
Menu Items:
 Dashboard provides details of your courses, upcoming deadlines and profile

 Site Home is one stop reference for all course related information

 Calendar provides Events and due dates with color-coded to distinguish course events, Group,
or personal (User) events. You can switch to any course calendar form here

 Course navigation can be done using “My Courses” option. My Courses menu shows list of all
the courses that you are enrolled into. On selecting a course name will take you directly to course
landing page. This helps in navigating between the courses

User Profile Dropdown:


In the user profile dropdown, the following options are seen:

• Preferences – The user can set configure notification methods for incoming messages

• Profile – To view your LMS profile.

• Grades – The direct links for viewing the grades of your courses will be listed in the page

Course Homepage
Once you click on the course name after logging into LMS, you will enter your LMS course homepage.

The Moodle/LMS course homepage is divided into three main columns:

• The right-side column including a set of individual blocks such as Course Announcements, Calendar
(Upcoming events)
• The left column gives you the details of course topics, participants and Grades

• The main(middle) column is the course page where you will able to access your course
contents/resources (PPT, Pdf, Word etc.) and Activities (Assignments, Quizzes, Zoom session,
Discussion forums etc.).

Click on Open/ Close tabs to view and hide the course content section and radio button to view
Section wise activities.

You can easily switch to next or previous sections and Jump to a specific section from the current
section

Course Activities:

• Assignment : Assignment is a paperless activity to submit you work online. It can be Group
or Individual
Click on the Assignment activity on the course page, the page displays with all details of the
submission. Click on “Add submission”

Assignments are linked to Turnitin Plagiarism check, Hence, on your first submission on LMS, Turnitin
prompts for policy acceptance (It’s a onetime activity). Please click on “continue to accept”. your
submission will not be submitted to Turnitin if you pause this step.

You can easily drag and drop files from file explore or browse from your local then Save changes.
• Quiz : Faculty/ AA d build quizzes consisting of a large variety of Question types, including
multiple choice, true-false, short answer.

Click on Quiz activity and “Attempt quiz now”

Provide your answers then click on “Finish attempt”

There is an option for review the quiz before final submission, click on “Return to Attempt”, review
your answers then click on “Submit all and Finish”
• Zoom : Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing service. It’s easy, reliable cloud platform
for video, voice, content sharing, and chat runs

Click on the Zoom activity and click on Join session. Once you click on “Join”, you will redirect to
Zoom app

• Forum : The forum activity allows students and Faculty/AA to exchange ideas by posting
comments as part of a 'thread’. The Faculty/AA can choose to grade and/or rate forum post.

Click on Discussion name to post your comments and click on “Add a new discussion topic” to start
a new discussion forum.

Click on” Reply” option to responds to a forum thread


Grades:

Grades for specific module (such as assignments/project work/Class Participation, Exams, Letter
Grades etc.) will appear in this screen. Click on the Grades in course page access different level of
grader reports related to your Grades, Scores, GPA and CGPA.
