WASTE

MANAGEMENT
REFUSE
By refusing such things that arenot necessary, we help our environment by
reducing the future wastes that might have been if we are impulsive on
whatever items we take that we are not even planning on using.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO REFUSE?

1. We refuse things that are really not necessary such as plastic utensils.
2. Try to refuse extra plastic bags when it can fit or/and use eco-bags
instead.
3. We should also try to refuse extra plastic bottled water and use tumblers.
4. Flyers and business cards that we might just throw in the bin, if we are
interested in such things, try and take a picture of it rather than having
another materials put down to the bin.

REDUCE
By reducing waste, we
avoid the unnecessary use of
resources such as materials, energy
and water. It means there is less waste to manage.

HOW DO WE REDUCE WASTE?

1. Avoid using too much packaging, in order to do so, buy in bulk or use an eco-bag in order to
reduce packaging.
2. Buy re-usable things rather than disposable ones in order to reduce the use of plastic
utensils.
3. Save things that you can still use rather than throw it away such as unused papers, cartons,
and other products and suplies.

REUSE
By reusing useful things and making them last as long as they can, we are
now able to reduce wasting such things that can still be repaired,
mended, or patched up and a little more life squeezed out of them.

WHAT ARE THE THINGS WE SHOULD DO?

1. Let us not waste our money in disposable things and use things that are rather reusable,
thus consuming our money and as well as reducing such unnecessary wastes.
2. Use things such as washable handkerchiefs rather than paper towels, a reusable tumbler
rather than disposable water bottles.
3. Learn to value things that are still of use such as old clothes, scrap papers,

REPURPOSE
By repurposing things or upcycling, we are able to make essence of
things that are particularly of no use to other items, and by doing this, we
might be able to reduce waste by giving items that are down to the trash
of new use.
HOW DO WE REPURPOSE THINGS?
1. The things we can do is to make a D.I.Y. or do it yourself things in order to repurpose things
that are down to waste.
2. In order to reduce our wastes, we must use our things efficiently, such as the plastic bottles
that could be turn into flower pots or containers.
3. We could also bring empty glass jars into a new purpose, we can use it as a pencil organizers
or even use it to store pasta.
4. Bring our old and rugged clothes a new purpose, and can turn them into rugs and cloth
towels.

By recycling things, we might be able to help the environment y

RECYCLE reducing the wastes that are being consumed in our world, recycling is
collecting scrap materials and turning it into new things with a new
purpose.
HOW DO WE RECYCLE?
1. In order to recycle things, we collect things that are down to trash like papers,
and other scrap materials that might used to create new things that we can use
efficiently.
2. Recycle empty ice cream containers, or scraps of cloth that we can actually turn
into clothing.
3. Milk cartons and other cardboard materials are also things that can turn into
organizers that we can place our things on.

DIFFERENT EFFECTS OF WASTE ON HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT

The way we dispose waste is troubling and it affects our environment for the wastes
1. CLIMATE CHANGE releases methane gas and burning piles of trash emits carbon dioxide that heats up our
planet and also it might cause air and land pollution that contribute to climate change.

2. WILDLIFE Due to wastes scattered all over our place, trashes somehow affects our aquatic
environment for fish and other aquatic animals can't distinguish what's food and
what's not, and the plastics and wastes that they have ingested affects their
overall life and as well as their species.

With wastes being produced everyday and not disposing of it correctly, it affects the
3. PUBLIC HEALTH quality of life, it can develop diseases from it such as asthma, birth defects, cancer,
infectious diseases, and other diseases because of the germs and bacteria that's
being produced by the wastes.
