MANUAL REMOTE PROGRAMMING FOR FORD

FORD SMART LOCK


1.Sit in driver’s seat with doors closed
2.Insert key into ignition and turn to ‘Accessories’
3. Press the rear demister switch 3 times (on EB-ED models
press the fuel cap or boot release 3 times)

4.Door locks should cycle to indicate programming window is open


5.Press a button on the remote control for approx. 1 second
6.Door locks should cycle to confirm successful registration
7.Repeat step 5 for any additional or existing remotes (max of 4)

8.Remove key, exit vehicle & test all remotes.

*Note: These remotes were used for Ford Falcon/Fairmont/Fairlane vehicles EB-AU
Series 1 c. 1992-1999. Before 10/1997, only XR & S pack utes were fitted. After
10/1997, all models were fitted. There are also single button versions (303MHZ).

Genuine remotes have been discontinued; however, The Key Guys can supply
aftermarket, compatible products including replacement remotes, shells and
switches to suit.

1.Sit in driver’s seat with doors closed
2.Insert key into ignition & turn to accessories (one turn)
3.Press the rear demister switch 3 times
4.Door locks should cycle to indicate programming window is open

7.Repeat step 5 for any additional or existing remote controls

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE FOR FALCON & TERRITORY

1.Sit in driver’s seat with doors closed (For FG Falcon buckle


driver’s seatbelt)

2.Insert key into ignition & turn to ‘accessories’ (one turn)


3.Press the rear demister switch 3 times

4.Door locks should cycle to indicate programming window is open


5.Press a button on the remote control for approx. 1 second
6.Door locks should cycle to confirm successful registration
7.Repeat step 5 for any additional or existing remotes(max 4)
8.Remove key, exit vehicle & test all remotes.

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE FOR FOCUS, FIESTA,
MONDEO, COUGAR & KA
1.Sit in driver’s seat with doors closed and driver’s seatbelt buckled
2.Insert key & turn from “on” to “off” 4 times (leaving it in “off”
position)
3.You should hear a chime
4.Press a button on any remote
5.You should hear a second chime to confirm successful registration
6.Press a button on any other remotes including existing ones (max 4)
7.Remove key, exit vehicle and test all remotes. *Note: if unsuccessful,
try ‘Off’ to ‘On’, ‘Off’ to ‘Accessories’ or ‘Accessories’ to ‘On’ in step 2.

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE FOR ESCAPE, EXPLORER &


MAZDA TRIBUTE
1.Sit in driver’s seat with doors closed
2.Insert key and turn from ‘Off’ to ‘On’ 8 times (leaving it in the ‘On’
position)
3.Door locks should cycle
4.Press button on remote
5.Door locks should cycle again to confirm successful registration
6.Repeat step 4 for any other or existing remotes (Max 8)
7.Remove key, exit vehicle and test remotes.

1.Sit in driver’s seat with doors closed and no key in ignition

2.Open drivers’ door

3.Insert key and turn from ‘On’ to ‘Off’ 3 times (leaving it in the ‘Off’

position)

4.Close and open driver’s door 3 times

5.Door locks should cycle

6. Press button on remote twice

7.Door locks should cycle again to confirm successful registration

8. Press any other or existing remotes (door locks should cycle

with each remote registration)

9.Remove key, exit vehicle and test remotes.

Alternatively, the procedure for ‘Focus, Fiesta, Mondeo, Cougar and KA’ will also
program these remotes (see previous page).

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE FOR JACKEROO & FRONTERA

1.Open the driver's door.

2.Insert key into ignition.

3.Turn the ignition switch to ‘Accessories’ and back to ‘Lock’ three


times, ending on ‘Lock’. This step must be completed within 3
seconds – move as quickly as possible, or the system will not
enter programming mode

4.Within 10 seconds, close and open the door two times


5.Repeat step 3
6.Within 10 seconds, close and open the door
7.Door locks should cycle once to confirm that the system is in
programming modehas accepted the transmitter's code.

8.Within 20 seconds, press the Lock button on the transmitter you

are programming

9. Door locks should cycle once

10.Within 20 seconds, press the Unlock button on the transmitter

11. Door locks should cycle once to confirm that the system has
accepted the transmitter's code
12. Repeat steps 8-11 for each additional transmitter
13.Remove key from ignition. Exit vehicle and test remotes.

1.Sit in driver’s seat with doors closed

2.Insert key into the ignition

3.Open the driver’s door

4.Turn key from ‘Off’ to ‘On’ 3 times and return to ‘Off’

5.Close and open the driver’s door twice

6.Wait 8 seconds (door chimes in 1-second intervals)

7.Turn key from ‘On’ to ‘Off’ twice

8.Remove key

9.Close driver’s door

10.The hazard lights should flash 3 times to indicate programming mode

11.Press unlock on the remote 3 times quickly

12.Hazard lights will flash once to confirm successful registration

13.Repeat step 11 for additional and existing remotes

14.Turn key to the ‘On’ position again

15.Hazard lights should flash 3 times to indicate closure of programming mode

16.Open and close driver’s door

17.Exit and test remotes.

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE

1.Sit in driver’s seat with driver’s door open

2.Lock and unlock doors with existing remote (if no existing

remote, disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds,

reconnect negative battery terminal, then start from step 3)

3.Turn key from ‘Accessories’ to ‘On’ 20 times within 12 seconds,

and return the key to the ‘Accessories’ position

4.Hazards should flash 20 times to indicate programming mode

5.After the 20th flash, press the remote control

6.Hazards should flash once to indicate successful registration

7.Press any additional and existing remotes (max 3)

8.Turn key from ‘On’ to ‘Off’ twice

9.Remove key, exit vehicle and test all remotes.

re-connect negative battery terminal, then start from step 3)

3.Turn key from “acc” to “on” 20 times within 12 seconds, then turn

the key back to “acc”

4.Hazards should flash 20 times to indicate programming mode

5.After the 20th flash press the remote control (hazards should

flash once to indicate registration success)

6.Press any additional & existing remotes (maximum of 3)

7.Turn key from “on” to “off” twice

8.Remove key, exit vehicle & test all remotes.

4.Press and hold both Lock and Unlock on remote to be
programmed for approx. 1.5 seconds, release for approx. 1
second, and then press and hold Unlock for approx. 1 second
5.Door locks should cycle to confirm successful registration
6.Repeat step for additional remotes (max 4)
7.Wait 1-2 minutes to exit programming mode before testing all
remotes.

and then release the Unlock button

5.Hazards should flash to indicate successful registration

6.Repeat step 4 for any additional or existing remotes (max 4)

7.When completed, turn key to ‘On’

8.Hazards should flash again to close programming

9.Exit vehicle and test all remotes.

kick panel and connect them together
2.Press and hold the unlock door switch (if no switch then turn key
to ‘Unlock’ position and hold)
3.Press Unlock followed by Lock on the remote
4.Door locks should cycle to confirm successful registration
5.Repeat step 3 for additional and existing remotes (max 3)
6.Release unlock switch and disconnect registration connectors
7.Exit vehicle and test all remotes.

*Note: Some vehicles may require you to hold the lock switch instead.

FOR TOYOTA

METHOD 1

1.Turn ignition to ‘on’


2.Insert a working remote into the reader found in the glove box
3.The security indicator will illuminate for 5 seconds
4.Before the light goes out, remove the working remote and insert
a blank remote
5.After the light extinguishes, remove remote from reader and test
operation
6.Repeat entire procedure for additional remotes (max 30).

*Note: There may not be a solution for all remotes lost anymore. You may require a
new system for the system to be bench reset.

1.Insert key and turn from ‘Off’ to ‘On’ 3 times leaving the key in
the ‘on’ position
2.Within 5 seconds, press the button on the remote control
3.Hazard lights should flash to confirm successful registration
4.Repeat step 2 for additional or existing remotes
5.Remove key, exit vehicle and test all remote controls.
