ES Consulting Engineering (ESCE) is a private limited company established
by professionals in the Geotechnical, Geological Explorations, Soils and
Materials Engineering Sectors. It has its head office in Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia.

 ESCE is a registered consultancy firm in all the relevant offices in

Ethiopia.
 ESCE is one of the leading consulting firms in the fields of Geotechnical
and Materials Engineering in Ethiopia, both in its technical and financial
capabilities.
 ESCE specializes in Geotechnical exploration of MINING, STRUCTURES
SUCH AS BUILDINGS, BRIDGE AND RELATED STRUCTURE WORKS,
SOIL, MATERIAL AND PAVEMENT DESIGN FOR VARIOUS ROAD
PROJECTS TESTING OF SOILS AND CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
AS WELL AS IN GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIAL ENGINEERING
WORKS.
 ESCE mainly depends on the professional and moral values of its staff
 ESCE has conducted the Field Investigation, Soils and Materials
Testing and Pavement and Materials Design of major Road projects.
 ESCE has completed the geological explorations on Mining projects.
 ESCE is undertaking the Materials Testing on various project.
 ESCE’ is conducting geotechnical foundation investigation works for a
number of Bridge and Building Structural Foundation Works
throughout the country.
 Since its establishment, ESCE has increased its partners to have a full
range of expertise in the Geotechnical and Materials Sectors.
 All computers, printers, copiers and scanners are fully networked with
state-of-the-art file sharing, printing and internet facilities with up-to-date
server-based electronic document management system and file security
systems.

3. ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

As the company is owned by share holders, the highest body of ESCE is its
shareholders who in turn elect board members to oversee the activities of the
management. The board consists of two permanent members with a
chairperson.
The management reports to the Board of Directors and the accomplishment of
the management is quarterly evaluated by the board.
With the objective of managing its day to day activities and providing
dependable service to its clients, ESCE is organized into three main divisions
and three service units. The service units provide the necessary technical and
logistics support to the three operation based divisions.
Each project report is lead by a Team Leader and the Team Leaders are
supervised by and report to their respective division managers.

4. SCOPES OF SERVICES

4.1 MAIN OBJECTIVES

ESCE is mainly established to give services in the Mining, soils and
Materials Engineering Sector.
The services ESCE is providing and /or planning to provide include:
 Drilling and Geotechnical Investigation Service for Bridges
 Drilling, Sampling and Provide Reports on Mining activities
 Soils and Materials Engineering Service for Roads
 Building Foundation Investigation Services
 Laboratory Testing of Soils and Materials

4.2 DRILLING AND GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION, BRIDGES

Among the Services that are being provided or that can be provided by ESCE
regarding Bridge Foundation Investigation include:
 Site Investigation including drilling works and insitu tests
 Laboratory testing of disturbed and undisturbed soil samples
 Laboratory testing of construction material for bridges
 Geotechnical Reporting including Bearing Capacity Determination and

6.1 STAFFING
It is known that the quality of services to be provided by a firm is highly dependent
on the competence of its staff than any other issue.

The current staffing of the firm is as summarized in the following Table.

6.4 OFFICE FACILITIES

The office is furnished with all the required facilities including high capacity desktop
computers, laptop computers, scanners, plotter, printers, quite a lot of software,
heavy duty photocopier, etc. All the computers, scanners and printers are networked
with state-of-the-art systems of file sharing, group working and document security.
For field works, it is either using its own equipment or is leasing the basic field-
testing equipment from its business partners.

6.5 FINANCIAL STATUS

Currently, ES Consulting Engineering PLC is in a good financial status and do not
envisage any problem associated with cash flow for the services which are being
giving as well as for the planned services.
ESCE’s geotechnical exploration unit is currently under a major expansion program.
To this end, ESCE has increased its subsurface exploration capacity. Additional
geotechnical staffs are also recruited.
