Do you see what’s on the screen class? Yes ma’am!
Okay, can you tell me what do you notice in
 the picture? Student may answer:
                                                   It’s a picture of a sandwich ma’am.
Very good! How about the ingredients of the

Fill the box that corresponds to the correct
letter that describe the picture. Students may answer:
Very good! This type of bread is the most
common used bread at home and later we
will give the different example under the loaf
bread.
Next one. Students may answer:
That’s right! For this one, it is known using for
hot sandwiches like burger and flying saucer
but they’re still a lot more to learn about the
Buns.
Lastly, we have Students may answer:
C. Presentation
With that, lets us have our main topic for
today which is all about the different types of
bread.
But before that, can you please give me the
meaning of bread?
                                                      Students may answer:
Bread - it is a food made of flour, water,
and yeast or another leavening agent,
                                                         mixed and baked.
Very good! Okay now, let me ask you do you
think bread is important in our cuisine?
                                                      Student may answer:
Ma’am I think bread is one of our staple food,
                                                      especially for breakfast and miryenda.
That’s correct! Can you please give me one
bread that is well known in our country?
                                                      Student may answer:
That’s right! It’s one of our go-to breakfast. That will be pandesal ma’am.
Now that we know the meaning of bread and
what it is for, let’s try to identify the different
types of bread.
But first let me ask you, is it necessary to use
different types of bread for a specific
sandwich? Can’t we just use any bread?
                                               Student may answer:
Ma’am I think for bread making there is
suited type of bread for a specific sandwich,
That is right! So, like what your classmate because not all bread has the same purpose.
said, sandwich preparation is simple, but it
will be much greater if you use the right type
of bread for the sandwich you are making.
Because we have also different types of
sandwiches like the hot or cold sandwiches.
Let’s have the different types of bread.
For the first type, can you please what on the
screen?
                                              Students will read:
Very good! For sure you are all familiar with Loaf bread ma’am.
the loaf bread, right class?
                                              Yes ma’am!
Okay if that so, can you please give me one
example of loaf bread?
                                              Student may answer:
                                              YEAST BREAD
Loaf bread is the most used bread for
Very good! Basically, the yeast bread is the sandwiches
typical loaf bread that we have for simple
sandwich that you can make at home, the
only difference are the ingredients used for it.
Do you have any idea, what will be the
ingredient?
                                                      Student may answer:
Ma’am I think it is the leavening agent used
                                                      for it.
Exactly! Can you please tell me what is the
leavening agent used for the yeast bread? Student may answer:
I think based on the name of bread; it will be
                                            yeast ma’am.
Very good! But do you know the other
leavening agent we can used for bread? Student may answer:
I think we can use baking powder and baking
                                            soda also ma’am.
That’s right! So, we can conclude here that
with just one different ingredient use can
change the end of our product.
Do you have some question with the first
example that we had? None ma’am.
Okay now, let’s move on to the next type of
loaf bread.
Which is the White bread.
What is White bread? Are you familiar with
this one? Yes, ma’am I am quiet familiar with the white
                                                    bread.
That’s good! Can you please give me the
meaning of white bread? Student may answer:
                                                    White Bread.
These are long rectangular loaves that
provide square slices, it is one of the most
                                                    versatile sandwich breads.
Very good! For this type of loaf bread, you
can use it any sandwich that you will like.
Some of the examples will be the Gardenia
bread, Pinoy Tasty and the like.
Can you please give me one example of
sandwich that the bread being use is white
bread? Student may answer:
                                           Peanut butter sandwich ma’am.
Very good! As simple as that you already
have your cold sandwich.
Do you have any question class? None ma’am.
Next, can you guess what is the name of the
load bread? Student may answer:
                                                    Wheat bread ma’am.
Very good! Kindly read the meaning of it. Student may answer:
                                                    Wheat Bread
It is a classic bread for sandwiches, it is
nutritionally superior to white bread, taste
better and have more interesting textures.
That’s right! For the wheat bread basically,
the flour used for it is wheat, which is good for
those who are dieting.
And for the next example of loaf bread. We
have the Rye Bread.
What is Rye bread? Student may answer:
                                                    Rye Bread
A heavy and a hearty flavor bread that goes
with so many types of meat and condiments.
Okay, thank you. This one is same with the
last one the flour used for it is made of rye.
But can you tell me what will be difference
between the Wheat bread and Rye bread? Student may answer:
Ma’am I think the flour used for it.
That’s correct! Like what I said earlier just one
different ingredient the product will be
different. To be specific the flour use in Rye
bread is rye flour.
Lastly, the most unique type of a loaf bread.
We have the Quick bread; can you please
give me the meaning of it. Student may answer:
                                              QUICK BREADS
These breads are raised by chemical action
of baking powder or baking soda like
biscuits, banana bread, carrot bread and
generally more tender and crumblier than
yeast bread. It is used for sweeter tasting
sandwiches and are best for tea sandwiches.
Well done! The reason why I say it is a
unique type of loaf bread because the bread
itself has already flavored with different
ingredients used in it.
Can you give me one example of quick
bread? Student may answer:
                                            Banana loaf bread ma’am.
That’s correct! Banana loaf bread is one of
the famous kinds of Loaf bread.
Is everything clear for the first type class? Yes ma’am!
Any questions class? None ma’am!
Okay now, let’s have the second type which
are the Buns and Rolls.
What can you tell about the Buns and Rolls? Student may answer:
Ma’am the buns and rolls are mostly use for
                                                  burger and flying saucer.
Very good! For the buns and rolls we only
have two types under it. Mostly buns and rolls
can be eaten without putting any filling or
spread in it.
Example, Sandwich rolls.
What is sandwich rolls? Will you please read
its definition? Student may answer:
                                                  Sandwich Rolls
A soft type of bread that come in all sizes,
                                                  shapes, and textures.
Thank you! For this one, the best example is
the Everlasting bun. It has a sweetened
coconut filling. Are you familiar with that
class? Yes ma’am!
Can you please give another example? Student may answer:
                                       Croissant rolls and Mojaco ma’am.
Very good! Are you familiar with those
example class? Yes ma’am!
That’s great! Next one, French and Italian Student may answer:
bread. Please read its definition. French and Italian Bread
Rolls including sourdough and ciabatta, split
horizontally. It works well for grilled
                                           sandwiches
Very good! For this one, it is best to eat while
it is still fresh, you can use butter as spread
and if you like you can also toast it.
Okay! Now, the last type of bread we have
the Wraps.
                                                   Not so much ma’am.
Are you familiar with this type of bread class?
If that so, here are some of the examples. Student may answer:
Flat breads. Please give me the meaning of it. FLAT BREADS
Are made from flatten often unleavened
                                               breads
Very good! This type of bread can be
compared to the hot cakes because this wrap
bread mostly savory.
                                                   Student may answer:
Next, we have the Pita. What is Pita bread? Pita
It comes in both white and whole wheat. As
the flat bread bakes, it puffs up, forming a
pocket that is perfect for stuffing
Yes, it is Pita bread because it puffed when
you baked it, it is also called pita pocket.
Basically, you can create a little tear in the
pita bread then stuff it with different types of
ingredients that you like.
Okay, next example of flat is bread is
Focaccia. Student may answer:
What is Focaccia? Kindly reads its definition. Focaccia
Flat Italian bread, a cousin of pizza an inch or
more thick and very rich in olive oil. It is sold
by whole and cut into squares, split and filled.
Very good! Focaccia can be sometimes
mistaken as pizza, but it doesn’t have any
toppings more on the bread is very rich and
you can eat it as it is.
And we also have Lavash. What is Lavash
bread? Can you please read the meaning of Student may answer:
it? Lavash
Small and rectangular, when softened in
water, can be rolled around a stuffing to
                                          make a pinwheel shaped sandwich.
That’s right! For this one you can compare it
with tortilla wrapper but unlike the tortilla
wrapper the lavash is easier to fold in a shape
that you like.
The last one is the Tortilla.
What is Tortilla bread? Kindly read it.
                                              Student may answer:
                                              Tortillas
Unleavened round corn meal breads baked
on a hot stone, size ranges to 6 inch-14 inch
or larger preferably used for quesadillas and
Very good! This one is for sure familiar with burritos.
you because of the popularity of shawarma
this day in our country.
Okay class, those are the different types of
bread that we use in sandwich preparation.
Do you have any question class?
                                               None ma’am!
D. Application
