Task1: installing server 2008 operating system
1. Install windows server 2008 operating system
2. Establish connection among the server and the two client
3. Configure the server as DNS and Active directory for the server computer using the ICT.local as
domain name
4. Configure server DHCP with range of 192.168.1.5 to 192.168.1.15
Task1: configure and administer the server
1. Create organization unit management, ict and Accounting in the Active Directory
2. Create users and password for the two organizational unit as follows
A. For management OU users( helen, henok, birkty ,) Password (12 , 4321 and blank
password respectively)
B. For ICT OU users (tigest, selam and yonas)
C. For Accounting (berhe, tamene and Asfaw), password (P@$$w0rd, blank blank respe..)
3. Set Access limitation for the Accounting OU users to access the network from Monday to frieday
during lunch hour from 12:30AM to 1:30PM( they must not use the network during this time)
4. Add(join) the client computer to the mekele.local (one client with DHCP and one client with
static)
5. Create personal drive(home drive ) for each user drive letter Assign P:
6. Create log on script
For Accounting Group M: for payroll R: for student Record
For management group I: for human resource
7. Creating Roaming profile for all user’s
8. Make IP Reservation for the president laptop with MAC Address of 45DE90Ac08
