THE SERVICE OF MATINS 晨時課

Matins is begun with the order set forth 若晨時課並非緊接在其它禮儀後舉行，則按以下所列經文的順序開始。若晨時課緊
below when it is not immediately prededed 接子時課舉行，則於司祭唸完始禮的祝福經文後，以「 前來，讓我們敬拜俯伏…
by any other service. If Matins be preceded …」及兩篇聖詠開始，但是若在大齋期內，司祭唸完始禮的祝福經文後，以「 聖

Holy God. For a Vigil, immediately after
Vespers and the appointed reading,
forthwith we begin Matins with Glory to
God in the highest and the Six Psalms.

shall not be able to establish.
For Thou shalt make them turn their backs;
among those that are Thy remnant, Thou
shalt make ready their countenance.
Be Thou exalted, O Lord, in Thy strength;
we will sing and chant of Thy mighty acts.

For Thine arrows are fastened in me, and

O Lord, before Thee is all my desire, and
my groaning is not hid from Thee. 但是我却像一個什麼也聽不見的聾子，又如一個張不開口的啞巴。
My heart is troubled, my strength hath 因此，我猶如一個不能聽的人，口中没有指責的言語。
failed me; and the light of mine eyes, even 上主，我寄望於祢，上主，我的上帝，祢必應允我。

My friends and my neighbours drew nigh 因爲我曾說過：不要讓我的仇敵因我而洋洋得意，當我跌倒時，他們興災樂禍。

nearest of kin stood afar off. 我已準備好承受災禍，我的痛苦常在我的面前。
And they that sought after my soul used
violence; and they that sought evils for me 我要承認我的罪，我要因我的罪而憂傷。
spake vain things, and craftiness all the
day long did they meditate. 我的仇敵比我更强而有力，無理憎恨我的人爲數衆多。
But as for me, like a deaf man I heard 以怨報德的人與我作對，這是因爲我追求正義。
them not, and was as a speechless man
that openeth not his mouth. 上主，不要遺棄我！我的上帝，不要遠離我！
And I became as a man that heareth not, 拯救我的上主，求祢快來助祐我。
and that hath in his mouth no reproofs.
For in Thee have I hoped, O Lord; Thou wilt
hearken unto me, O Lord my God.
For I said: Let never mine enemies rejoice
over me; yea, when my feet were shaken,
those men spake boastful words against
me.
For I am ready for scourges, and my
sorrow is continually before me.
For I will declare mine iniquity, and I will
take heed concerning my sin.
But mine enemies live and are made
stronger than I, and they that hated me
unjustly are multiplied.
They that render me evil for good
slandered me, because I pursued
goodness.
Forsake me not, O Lord my God, depart not
from me.
Be attentive unto my help, O Lord of my
salvation.

Against me is Thine anger made strong,

But as for me, unto Thee, O Lord, have I
cried; and in the morning shall my prayer

Wherefore, O Lord, dost Thou cast off my
soul and turnest Thy face away from me?
A poor man am I, and in troubles from my
youth; yea, having been exalted, I was
humbled and brought to distress.
Thy furies have passed upon me, and Thy
terrors have sorely troubled me.
They came round about me like water, all
the day long they compassed me about
together.
Thou hast removed afar from me friend
and neighbour, and mine acquaintances
because of my misery.

For their gods are not as our God; and our
enemies are void of understanding.
For out of the vines of Sodom is their vine,
and their vine-branch out of Gomorrha;
their grape is a grape of gall, it is a cluster
of bitterness to them.
The rage of dragons is their wine, and the
incurable wrath of asps.
Lo, are not all these things stored up with
Me and sealed among My treasures?
In the day of vengeance I will requite, in
the moment when their foot stumbleth; for
nigh is the day of their perdition. And the
things prepared for you are at hand.
For the Lord shall judge His people, and
because of His servants shall He be
comforted.
For He saw that they were palsied, and had
failed in their invasion, and that they were
enfeebled.
And the Lord said: Where are their gods in
whom they trusted?
The fat of whose sacrifices ye ate, and ye
drank the wine of their libations? Let them
arise, and let them help you; let them be
your protectors.
Behold, behold, I am; and there is no god
beside Me. I will slay, and I will make to
live; I will smite, and I will heal; and there
is none who shall deliver out of My hands.
For unto heaven I will lift up My hand, and I

from the dunghill doth He lift up the poor
man to seat him with the mighty of the
people, and He maketh him heir of their
throne of glory.

and hath blest the years of the righteous

let not the mighty man boast in his might, 財富而誇耀。
let not the rich man boast in his riches;

boast, that he hath understanding and
knoweth the Lord, and that He worketh
judgment and righteousness in the midst

Glory be the Thy power, O Lord.

O Lord, I have heard Thy report, and I was 上主，我聽到了祢的報道，我害怕；上主，我默思祢的化工，我驚奇。
