Semi – Detailed Lesson Plan in ARTS 3

l. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
a. Identify the Tint and Shade Colors
b. Label a picture of an artwork of which is the Tint and Shade can be found.
c. Choose a color they like to use in painting.

Topic: Tint and Shade Color
References: K to 12 Grade 3 Learning Material in Arts
Materials: Printed Materials, pictures, water, cup and water color
Strategies: Painting, pictures, and questioning

B. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
 The Teacher will ask the students to get their water color and give
each student a printed paper.
 The students are going to color the rainbow and choose if they
want to use light colors or dark colors
 The Teacher will ask this questions:
1. What colors did you choose?
2. Why did you choose light colors? Why did you choose dark
colors?

2. Analysis
 The Teacher will give a printed material to each students.
 The students are going to paint using their water color.

 The Teacher will ask this questions:

1. Is the color mixed with white result in light color?


2. Is the color mixed with black result in dark color?

3. Abstraction
 The Teacher will discuss the lesson.
 Colors vary. There are colors that are light and dark. The lightness
(tints) or darkness (shades) of a color is called value. Tints are light
values that are made by mixing a color with white. For example,
pink is a tint of red, and light blue is a tint of blue. Shades are dark
values that are made by mixing a color with black. Maroon is a
shade of red, and navy is a shade of blue. Graduation of tints and
shade depends on the amount or white or black paint added e.g.
light pink, medium pink and intense pink- another term for red.

A. Tints of color

red + white = pink

B. Shade of color

red + black = brown

4. Application
 The students are going to label the picture of which part is the Tint
and Shade.
 The Teacher will give the printed paper to each students.

 Instruction: Write T if the color is Tint and S if the color is Shade.
