you more than he loves himself." – Josh Billings

Thank you so much for downloading my pattern! It’s a pleasure to me to help you sew your

to help you. You can send a message to me through my Etsy shop:

This pattern is for personal non-commercial use only, and you are not authorized to sell or
reproduce this pattern, but you can use it to create finished clothes. By buying this pattern,
you agree to this. And you also agree to sew the most adorable coat to your beloved furry
friend!

Instructions:

This is a basic coat for your four legged love, and even if you are a beginner you will sew a
fantastic coat for your dog! Because no amazing sewing skills are needed and even if the
final result doesn’t look good your beautiful pet will make it look cute and adorable anyway.
You are a trustworthy dog tailor and this is going to be fast and easy.

❤️MATERIALS:
-Main fabric: 70x150cm max (27,5x59 inches max). Medium weight breathable woven fabric
is recommended.
-Lining: 70 cmx150 cm max (27,5x59 inches max). Use one of your preference, depending
on how cold the temperature is in your zone. Breathable woven fabric is also recommended.
-Velcro: 30 cm max (11,8 inches max).

❤️MEASURING YOUR DOG:

In order to sew this coat, you need a little patience to take your dog’s next measurements:
1.Neck girth: from the widest part of his neck.
2.Chest girth: from the widest part of his chest.
3.Back length: from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

❤️SIZE CHART:
Choose the right size for your “perrito” on the size chart. If your dog doesn’t fit exactly on the
size chart you can easily modify the pattern as I will show you later. The most important
measurement that should match the pattern is the chest circumference.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU FIRST TRY THE PATTERN ON YOUR DOG USING PAPER OR
AN OLD PIECE OF FABRIC, SO YOU DON’T WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS FABRIC IN CASE THERE
ARE ADJUSTMENTS THAT NEED TO BE DONE
❤️PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS:
-Select and print the file that matches your paper size. The file that includes the word A4
must be printed in A4 paper. The file that includes the words US letter must be printed in Us
letter paper size, if not, the pattern won’t print correctly ( pieces won’t match and there will be
missing parts). If you can’t find the file corresponding to your paper size, please send me a
message through my Etsy shop and I will help you.

-Print the pattern without any margins and set the scale of your printer to “actual size”.

-I’ve included a 5 cm and 1 inch squares so you can test that your pattern is printed on the
right size.
-Lay out the entire pages and tape them together. DO NOT CUT BEFORE TAPING THEM
TOGETHER.

MATCHING YOUR PATTERN:

Every page contains a number and a letter on the left bottom angle and they should match
like this:
First row of pages: 1A,1B,1C, etc…
Second row of pages: 2A, 2B, 2C, etc…
Third row of pages: 3A, 3B, 3C, etc…
Depending on the size of the pattern there could be more or less rows and columns.
Once you have taped the pages together, you can cut the pattern of your chosen size. It is
possible that you see a clear area of 5 mm approximately (see image below) on the edges
of your pages where the printer was not able to print. It is very important that you do not
cut this area, because it is also part of your pattern. You can easily draw that area but it
uses to be so small that this step is not necessary.

❤️CUTTING THE FABRIC:

-Iron your fabric before cutting! Never ignore this step because it makes a big difference.
-This pattern includes 1 cm seam allowance.

Please cut the following pieces:

-MAIN PIECE: 1 piece on fold out of your main fabric and 1 piece on fold out of lining.
-NECK: 1 piece on fold out of your main fabric and 1 piece on fold out of lining. You can
optionally cut the 2 pieces out of main fabric if you don’t want the lining to be visible when
you turn the neck down.

This is how your pieces should look like:

Or if you decide to cut the two pieces from the neck out of main fabric:

❤️SEWING INSTRUCTIONS:

1: Face the right sides of the neck pieces and sew them together as shown below:

2: Turn the piece right and topstitch it, leaving the neckline open as shown below. This will
give structure to the neck.
3: Place the right side of the neck on top of the right side of the main piece and sew the
neckline seams in order to keep both pieces together. You can baste instead.

4: Place the right side of the lining on top and sew all the contour of the piece from one
notch to the next one. Leave the space between notches open so you can turn the piece to
the right.
5:Turn the piece right and sew the seam all the way around, including the opening that we
left before.

6: Attach the pieces of velcro and you are done! Now you can go for a walk together and
enjoy this unique piece of dog couture that you have created with your own hands! How cool
is that?
