needles size 2mm (US 0, UK 14).
3. A needle for sewing the parts of the toy (it is better to take the needle with a
blunt tip).
4. A long needle for tightening the muzzle (I take a needle that is used for stitching
documents).
5. 12 mm sequined safety eyes.
6. Fiberfill.
7. Scissors.
8. 15 mm buttons.
9. Floral wire (for the Bee Bear`s headband) – I have got 1.2 mm wire (1 piece is

How to assemble the toy
1. Sew the head to the body
Take a long thread and tie a big knot on its end. Find the center of the body. Insert
the needle into the center of the body and match it with the center of the neck. Start
sewing them together stitch into stitch. (There are 21 stitches in the last row of the body
and the same amount of stitches in last row of the head – so we make 21 stitches). Stuff
the area of the neck tight in the process of sewing the head to the body. Watch the
video:

2. Tightening of the eyes (watch the video) -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=7QHne_cwyHs&ab_channel=HappinessbyKris)

3. Sew the muzzle at the level of Rows 18-28 of the head.

14
4. Decorate the eyes and embroider the eyebrows
Embroider the eyelids with a few stitches of body colour.

Embroider the eyelashes and eyebrows at the level of Row 13 of the head. (For
doing it, I separate the thread of Yarn art jeans yarn into strands and use only one of
them).

Embroider the bottoms of the eyes.

15
5. Embroider the nose

6. Sew the ears between Rows 6-13 of the head.

7. Sew the tail between Rows 11 and 12 of the body.

Your teddy is done!

A set of clothes for the Bee Bear

Jacket
Row 1: Cast on 27 ch. Then work back and forth rows. Start with the 2nd stitch from the
hook. Start each row with 1 ch.
Row 2: 26 sc
Row 3: (1 sc, inc) х 13 (39)
Row 4: 5 sc, inc, (8 sc, inc) х 3, 5 sc, inc (44)
Row 5: (10 sc, inc) х 4 (48)

17
Row 6: Start shaping the sleeves: 8 sc, 8 ch, miss 8 stitches, insert the hook into the 9th
stitch, 16 sc, 8 ch, miss 8 stitches, insert the hook into the 9th stitch, 8 sc (48)

Rows 7 – 11: 48 sc (5 rows)

Do not cut the thread, shift to the edge side of the jacket and work it with sc
making a button loop (7ch) at the same time. Cut the thread, hide the end. Sew the
button on the opposite side.

18
Overalls
Row 1: Cast on 59 ch, join into a circle.
Rows 2 – 11: 58 sc (10 rows) – work in rounds, do not work any ch or sl st at the
beginning and at the end of the rows!

Row 12: Start making a hole for the tail in this Row: work 56 sc (do not work the last 2
sc), work 5 ch, miss 5 sc, insert the hook into the 6th stitch and start working Row 13.

19
Row 13: 58 sc. When you finish this row you have to be at the middle of the tail hole. If
you are not there, work some more sc.

Rows 14 – 25: 58 sc (12 rows)

Start shaping the trouser legs. Each trouser leg is 29 stitches. Keep working with
the same thread: miss 29 stitches, insert the hook into the 30th. Work 3 rows with 29 sc,
sl st. Cut the thread leaving a long tail. Fold the leg into two halves and fasten it from
the inner side with a few stitches using the end that have been left earlier. Make the
second trouser leg in the same manner.

20
21
A bodice: Find 12 central stitches at the front, join the thread, work 1 ch and 11 sc.
Then work back and forth rows: 4 rows with 12 sc. Start each row with 1ch.

Do not cut the thread at the end of Row 4. Work the first strap (to my mind, it is
more convenient to do it when the overalls have been put on the teddy): 14 ch. Find 8
central stitches on the back (take the tail hole into account), work 8 sc (fasten the first
strap). Then cast on 14 ch for the second strap and sew it with a needle to the other side
of the bodice.

22
Bee
Body: Start with yellow colour
Row 1: 6 sc in mc (6)
Row 2: 6 inc (12)
Rows 3-4: 12 sc, switch to black colour

Row 7: 12 sc, switch to yellow colour
Stuff the body of the bee tight.
Row 8: 12 sc

23
Row 9: 12 dec (6), run the needle through the back loops and pull the thread tight.

Wings:
Row 1: 6 sc in mc (6)
Row 2: 6 inc, sl st. Cut the thread, leave a tail for sewing.

A strap: 30 ch. Run the strap through the bee`s tummy with the help of a
crocheting hook, then run it through a few stitches of the overalls. Tie a strong knot.

24
Headband
Cut 15-16 cm (5.9 – 6.2 inches) piece of floral wire. Wrap one end of a piece with
some adhesive tape.

25
How to crochet around the wire: work 6 sc in mc, then work approximately 9 rows
in rounds. Then insert the wire with its wrapped end and keep crocheting around it till 2
cm (0.7 inches) are left.

Wrap the other end of the wire with the adhesive tape (do not make the wrapping
thick, 1 layer is enough) and finish crocheting around. Cut the thread, insert the end of
the thread into a needle and run it through the front loops and pull tight.

Horns:
Row 1: 6 sc in mc (6)
Row 2: 6 inc (12)
Rows 3 – 4: 12 sc
Row 5: 6 dec
Rows 6 – 7: 6 sc, sl st. Cut the thread, leave a tail for sewing.

26
An outfit for a teddy girl

Row 6: 10 sc, inc, 30 sc, inc, 10 sc (54)
Row 7: 54 sc
Row 8: (3 sc inc)*to the end of the row (162)

27
Rows 9 – 14: 162 hdc
Row 15: 162 sc
Row 16: Work the bottom edge of the dress: (1 ch, 1 sl st, 1 ch, 1 sl st)*to the end of the
row.
Do not cut the tread, shift to the side edge of the dress and work it with sc. Make 2
button loops (7ch) in the process. Cut the thread, hide the end.

Sew the buttons on the opposite side. Sew the upper button stepping 1 cm (~ 0.4
inches) from the edge, the lower button at the distance of 2 cm (~ 0.8 inches) from the
edge (so that the skirt of the dress won`t stick out too much).

28
The front part: count 16 stitches from the edge, insert the hook into the 17 th : 1 ch,
1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc inc, 1 hdc, 1 sl st, 1 hdc, 2 dc inc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, sl
st. Cut the thread, hide the end.

Sleeves:
Row 1: 19 ch, join into a circle (leave a long tail for sewing the sleeve to the dress).
Then work in rounds:
Row 2: (1 sc, inc) х 9 (27)
Rows 3 – 4: 27 sc
Row 5: (1 sc, dec) х 9 (18)
Cut the thread, hide the end. Sew the sleeves to the sides of the dress.
Roses: 34 ch, start with the 3rd stitch from the hook: 32 hdc. Tie the two ends
together, cut the thread. Twist the piece into a rose and fasten it with the help of a
needle and a thread end that was left.
For a headband I additionally work a chain (The number of chain stitches depends
on the size of the head. Try it on the head in the process of making.)

29
An outfit of Umka (the polar bear)
Knitting abbreviations:
k – knit;
p – purl;
yo – yarn over;
ed st – the edge stitch (slip the first stich, purl the last one)
m1k – increase or make 1 stitch knit-wise by picking up horizontal loop lying before the
next stitch and knitting into back of the loop (or you can work yarn over and close the
eyelet on the wrong-side row by twisting the loop)

Overalls
Row 1: Cast on 51 stitch, spread them on 4 double-pointed needles (12,13,12,13) and
join into a circle. You`ll have 50 stitches in total on your needles. It is better to put a
marker at the beginning of the row.

30
Rows 2 – 5: Work 1x1 rib (k, p, k, p, etc.) (50)

Row 6: k 50 (50)
Row 7: k 11, m1k, k 1, k 13, k 11, m1k, k 1, k 13 (52)
Rows 8 – 13: k 52 (6 rows)

Row 14: k 12, m1k, k 1, k 13, k 12, m1k, k 1, k 13 (54)

Row 15: Start shaping a tail hole in this row: k 52, cast off 4 stitches (the last 2 stitches
of Row 15 and the first 2 of Row 16)

31
Row 16: k 50, cast on 5 stitches
Row 17: k 52 (you have to be right in the middle of the tail hole)
Rows 18 – 27: k 54 (10 rows)

32
Start working trouser legs - 27 stitches each. Slip the first 27 stitches onto the
additional thread. Spread the other 27 stitches onto three double-pointed needles – 9
stitches each – work 3 rows with 1x1 rib. Cast off the stitches. Cut the thread, hide the
end.
Spread the rest 27 stitches from the additional thread onto three double-pointed
needles – 9 stitches each – join the thread and work 3 rows with 1x1 rib. Cut the thread,
fasten it and also use it for sewing up the hole between the legs.

33
The straps are to be worked separately with a crocheting hook: 24 ch. Sew them to
the overalls.

Ice cream (consists of a cone and a ball)

Ball:
Row 1: 6 sc in mc
Row 2: 6 inc
Row 3: (1 sc, inc) х 6 (18), sl st. Cut the thread leaving a tail for sewing.
Cone:
Row 1: Cast on 8 ch
Row 2: Start with the 2nd stitch from the hook: 7 sc. Then work back and forth rows
starting each row with 1ch.
Row 3: dec, 5 sc (6)
Row 4: dec, 4 sc (5)
Row 5: dec, 3 sc (4)
Row 6: dec, 2 sc (3)
Row 7: dec, 1 sc (2)
Row 8: dec. Cut the thread leaving a tail for sewing.
First, sew the ball, then a cone above the ball. Decorate the cone. For doing it, I
separate the brown thread of Yarn art jeans yarn into strands and use only one of them.

34
Baby cap
It is more convenient to start working the baby cap on the circular needles (it will
be easier to try it on the toy). The number of stitches in the cap is unchangeable. There
are 44 stitches in every Row.
Row 1: Cast on 44 stitches
Rows 2 – 4: Work 3 rows with 2x2 rib. Slip the first edge stich, purl the last one.

Now start shaping the pattern, but it is going to be changed every three rows.

35
Row 5: Ed st, k 4, then work 2x2 rib (p2, k2, etc.) till you have 5 stitches. Work them in
the following way: k 4, ed st.
Row 6: Work according to the pattern: purl the purl stitches, knit the knit ones.
Row 7: Work the same as in Row 5
Row 8: Ed st, k 6, then work 2x2 rib (p2, k2, etc.) till you have 7 stitches. Work them in
the following way: k 6, ed st.
Row 9: Work according to the pattern
Row 10: Work the same as in Row 8
Row 11: Ed st, k 8, then work 2x2 rib (p2, k2, etc.) till you have 9 stitches. Work them
in the following way: k 8, ed st.
Row 12: Work according to the pattern
Row 13: Work the same as in Row 11
Row 14: Ed st, k 10, then work 2x2 rib (p2, k2, etc.) till you have 11 stitches. Work
them in the following way: k 10, ed st.
Row 15: Work according to the pattern
Row 16: Work the same as in Row 14
Row 17: Ed st, k 12, then work 2x2 rib (p2, k2, etc.) till you have 13 stitches. Work
them in the following way: k 12, ed st.
Row 18: Work according to the pattern
Row 19: Work the same as in Row 17

36
Row 20: Ed st, k 14, then work 2x2 rib (p2, k2, etc.) till you have 15 stitches. Work
them in the following way: k 14, ed st.
Row 21: Work according to the pattern
Row 22: Work the same as in Row 20
Row 23: Ed st, k 16, then work 2x2 rib (p2, k2, etc.) till you have 17 stitches. Work
them in the following way: k 16, ed st.
Row 24: The ear holes are to be worked from Row 24 to Row 29. The ears are quite
wide, so we need large holes for them. We are going to divide the cap into three parts
and work each of them separately according to the pattern: work (1 ed st, p 4) – the first
part, cut the thread, leaving about 1 meter long tail. Keep working, join a new thread:
(p 12, k 2, p 2, k 2, p 2, k 2, p 12) – the second part. Use a new thread to work the third
part (I take the thread from the inside of the yarn ball) – p 4, ed st.

37
Row 25: Work the same as in Row 23, work each part with its thread!
Row 26: Keep working each row: ed st, k 18, p 2, k 2, p 2, k18, ed st
Row 27: Work according to the pattern
Row 28: Work the same as in Row 26
Row 29: Close the ear holes in this Row and join the three parts together again into one
piece. Work with 1 thread: ed st, k 20, p 2, k 20, ed st
Row 30: Work according to the pattern
Row 31: Work the same as in Row 29

Row 32: ed st, k 42, ed st

Row 33: ed st, p 42, ed st

38
Row 34: ed st, k 42, ed st
Row 35: ed st, k 42, ed st
Row 36: ed st, p 42, ed st
Row 37: ed st, k 42, ed st
Row 38: ed st, p 42, ed st
Row 39: ed st, k 42, ed st
At this stage we have to finish the cap. Now we need to sew it. Spread the stitches
on circular needles as it is shown on the photo below (22 stitches on one needle and 22
on the other one).

Start slipping the stitches with a sewing needle one by one (one stitch from the first
needle, then one stitch from the second needle). Now you have a seam with small holes.

39
Sew the stitches one more time to reduce the holes but this time insert the needle
below the stems of the stitches (check the photo). Work in this manner till the end of
row. Cut the thread, hide the end.

Work the front edge of the cap with 1 sc into each stitch using a crocheting hook.
Join the thread leaving a long tail – this will be the first strap. Do not cut the thread after
working around the edge, work the second strap – 60 ch, cut the thread, tie a knot at the
end. Work the second strap in the same manner.

Work the ear holes with sc using a crocheting hook.
