PART I: SOCIAL INTERACTION (~ 3 mins)
Let’s talk about holiday. – I am going to talk about holiday
- What did you do on your last holiday? – I went to Halong Bay on my last holiday. I
went with my family by car. We stayed at a hotel by the beach. It was wonderful
- Who do you prefer spending your holiday with? Relatives or friends? – I enjoy
spending my holiday with my friends because we have the same hobby so we can
take part in many activities together. (because we have a lot of things in
common)
- Do you prefer going on holiday abroad? – I prefer going on holiday abroad
because I want to practice my English and explore new countries.
Now, let’s talk about TV programmes. – Now, I am going to talk about TV programmes.
We must say that TV plays an important role/part in our life. More and more people are
becoming interested in watching TV (It is the fact that watching TV is one of the most
popular leisure activities in many countries). I really love watching TV.
- How many hours a day do you watch television? – I watch television about two
hours a day. I often watch TV with my family in the evening. It’s relaxing and
useful. We can update information, relax and share happy moments together.
- Which programmes do you like? – I like watching films, sports and game shows.
They are interesting and useful. I can relax and learn a lot of useful things
- Do you prefer watching television alone or with other people? Why? – I prefer
watching TV with other people, especially my family because I want to spend
time and share happy moments with them
Part II: SOLUTION DISCUSSION (~ 4 mins) (1’ – 3’) (2’ – 2’)
Situation: If you won the lottery of 1 billion VND, what would you do with the money?
There are THREE options for you to choose:
- Buy a new house.
- Start a business.
- Deposit the money in the bank.
Explain the option you have chosen.
- I am going to talk about the situation. (doc lai de)
- I think the second option (start a business) is the best choice
- There are some reasons why I choose this option. First (First of all/ In the first
place) I find a lot of interest in business. I wish to open a restaurant in the city
centre. (I have dreamt of opening a restaurant since I was young). Second, I can
earn more money to support my family (I can improve my income to deal with
financial issues). Third, I major in business and management. I have a lot of
experience in business so I think I can do the business well. Finally, I can become
more active/dynamic, independent and expand/ build relationships with other
people.
- The first option (buy a new house) and the last one (deposit the money in the bank)
are not suitable for me because I have already had a big house. (one billion VND is
not enough to buy a house in HN/ I am living with my parents so it is not necessary
to buy a new house). I cannot earn much money when I deposit the money in the
bank
- In short, the second option (start a business) is the most suitable for me.
Part III: TOPIC DEVELOPMENT (~ 5 mins)
Topic: Online courses have changed the way people learn
wn ideas
- Now, What advice would you give someone on how to study English?
- Do you think being a student is the best time of your life? Why/ why not?
- Should a student’s university education be free or should the student have to get a
loan? Explain your choice.

- I am going to share with you something about the topic. We must say that more
and more people are becoming interested in online courses because they are
beneficial for students. Online courses have changed the way people learn.
- Firstly, we should not forget that online courses provide new learning experience.
Students can stay at home and learn with a computer. They do not have to go to
class. They can save a lot of time and money for travelling
- Secondly, it is the fact that online courses are convenient to study. Students can
study anywhere at any time.
- Finally, it is true that online courses help students be independent in learning so
they can focus on their study
- I totally agree with the three ideas
- In my opinion,
+ online courses are cheap/ economical. The fee is low and students do not have
to spend money on travelling
