1. What skills do you think are needed to get a job nowadays? Why can’t many
graduates find jobs that fit their field of study?

Essential skills needed to get a job nowadays.

1. Leaning skills.
Learning skills is that we usually learn new things effectively. Learning skills are
necessary for evey body to get a dream job because they help us accumulate all
branches of knowledge and complete projects effectively. We can continuously be
developed and improved to help us accomplish daily tasks or achieve great results.
In fact, we can learn more if we assume we don’t know anything. For instance,
students will tend to relax or play video games when they get 10 points. Workers
are similar.
We can learn from many sources, such as newspapers, network platforms, TV
shows or our boss, our co-workers.
2. Communication skills.
Communication skills are that we can communicate with other workers. It is what
enables us to pass information to other people, and understand what is said to us.
Communication is the act of transferring information from one place to another. It
may be vocal (using voice), written, or visual (using photos, charts, or graphs).
As our career progresses, the importance of communication skills increases; the
ability to speak, listen, question, and write is essential for most managers and
leaders. Good communication skills can improve our personal relationships by
helping you to understand others, and to be understood.
We will become friendly and sociable, and we receive a lot of good feelings from
co-workers, customers, managers, or businesses.
Poor communication skills can sour relationships from business to personal, and
make your life significantly harder.
3. Problem-solving skills.
Problem-solving skills are important in every career at every level. These skills
help us determine the source of a problem and find an effective solution. Problem-
solving skills were the most sought in 2022. In fact, 86% of employers look for
problem-solving skills on student resumes. It’s unsurprising why employers are
looking for this skill: companies will always need people to help them find
solutions to their problems. Someone proactive and successful at problem-solving
is valuable to any team.
In conclusion, the best way to get a job is to develop a strong mix of skills.

Why can’t many graduates find jobs that fit their field of study?
There are a few reasons why many graduates can’t find jobs that fit their field of
study. The first reason is lack of leadership experience. One of the reasons employs
overlook college graduates is a lack of leadership experience. They can’t find a
job. They are the students who did not develop any leadership experience during
college. Joining or organizing student clubs, participating in teams or even starting
your own business offer great leadership opportunities in college. Employers look
for these things on a college. The second reason is bad resumes and cover letters.
Professional resumes and cover letters are important for a successful job search.
Some college graduates did not use career services on their college campuses. The
last reason is did not use college career centers. Employers actively recruit
thousands of new college graduates every year. They from these companies clock
many hours with career center staff to meet college students. If a college graduate
can’t find a job, it might not be too late to connect with the campus career center.

2. Describe a festival or holiday in VietNam that you enjoy. Explain why you
enjoy it.
Lunar New Year or Tết Nguyên Đán, is Vietnam’s most significant celebration.
Across Vietnam, during this time families gather and honour their ancestors, while
praying for luck, prosperity and health in the new year. The public holiday may
only run for one week, but in reality, Tết celebrations last much longer. Tết marks
the first day of the Lunar New Year, and the beginning of spring in the North of
Vietnam.
1. Activities
Throughout Vietnam, preparations for Tết begin weeks in advance, as cleaning,
decorating, and sprucing up is a big part of the holiday tradition. Vietnamese shop
for new clothes, get haircuts, cook special dishes (trung cake), buy flowers, and
even wash their motorcycles. Each home and office will decorate with signs of
‘Chúc Mừng Năm Mới’, and kumquat trees or peach blossoms will be set in a
place of honour. The bigger the kumquat trees, the more prosperity and health the
family will receive in the new year. Streets burst with colour as these trees are
transported on the back of motorbikes. In anticipation of the long holiday, a festive
spirit takes hold of the country.
On the first day of New Year, everybody, especially kids, wears new clothes and
shoes to visit families and friends and enjoy the traditional Tet food like Banh
Chung (a sticky rice cake). Many children receive "lucky money" in red envelopes.
2. Meaning
Once the holy resting time has ended, people resume their activities with a
renewed spirit and positive frame of mind. For the Vietnamese, honoring the
coming of the New Year looks ahead towards good fortunes while centering on
happiness and positive values. The numerous festivities aim on reinforcing
Vietnamese culture, beliefs and family ties. A long and proud tradition of
Vietnamese all over the world, this is one symbolic celebration of birth and
renewal that will only strengthen over the years to come.

3. Describe an important event in your life. Explain why it was important for
you?

The first Tet holiday I participate in a university, not my home with my

family.
4. Give some examples of climate change. What are the consequences of
climate change?

Climate, refers to the long-term regional or global average of temperature,

humidity and rainfall patterns over seasons, years or decades.
While the weather can change in just a few hours, climate changes over
longer timeframes. Climate change is the significant variation of average
weather conditions becoming, for example, warmer, wetter, or drier – over
several decades or longer. It is the longer-term trend that climate change
from natural weather variability.
Climate changes can affect our climate system in lots of different ways:
- Increased global temperature
- More Extreme weather and disasters
- Sea level rise
- Changes in land use and growing seasons.

The level of climate change will depend on how quickly we cut emissions of
dangerous greenhouse gases. Even if we were to stop all emissions today,
we would not prevent some changes. However, the sooner we cut emissions,
the smaller the changes will be..
The effects of climate change on human health are increasingly well studied
and quantified. When people are exposed to higher temperatures for longer
time periods they might experience heat illness and heat-related death.
Climate change will impact where infectious diseases are able to spread in
the future. Change in climte can cause decreasing yields for some crops and
regions, resulting in higher food prices, food insecurity, and undernutrition.
Climate change also reduce water security. These factors together can lead
to increasing poverty, human migration, violent conflict, and mental health
issues.
Research shows that health professional around the world agree that climate
change is real, is caused by humans, and is causing increased health
problems in their communities.
Here are some actions to reduce your impact on the environment.
1. Save energy at home
2. Walk, bike or take public transport
3. Reduce, reuse, repair and recycle
4. Eat more vegetables, fruits and nuts
5. Plant native species
6. Clean up your environment

5. What is a typical meal in Vietnam? Can you introduce some Vietnamese

foods that foreigners enjoy?
Rice is severed almost every meal, even breakfast, in some rural areas.
Because there are a lot of rivers across the country, we also eat fish every
week. On the other hand, we eat lots of meats such as ducks, chickens, and
pork along with eggs, which provide additional protein. Nuoc mam is a
special dish that won’t be missed in every meal of Vietnam. A liquid sauce
is made from fish and has a strong smell.
The typical Vietnamese meal consists of rice and vegetables and the main
dish is meat or fish … Vegetables are often grown in the front of the garden
of the house and include beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, onions, …
Fruit includes bananas, dragon fruits, mangoes and pineapples.
Eating in Vietnam has big things to learn about. We applied the theory of
balance when cooking food. For example, chicken is considered a cold food,
often served with ginger.
Vietnamese drinks green tea all day long, from the morning until the
evening, especially right after eating.
In Vietnam, breakfast is not considered as a main meal, so it is short. We eat
Phở with beef and chicken, Bánh Mì, Xôi (sticky rice), Mỳ Quảng, Bún Bò
Huế or Bánh Canh.
The big meal is lunch and dinner. Lunch is usually Cơm Bùi, Cơm Tấm.
Dinner is the most important meal when all family members are back from
school or work; enjoy it together.
We eat with chopsticks and sit on a mat on the floor in the old days.
Nowadays, lots of families eat on chairs and a table.

Some of the typical Vietnamese food

1. Phở bò, phở gà: Rice noodle soup with beef or chicken, maybe add
poached eggs
2. Bún chả: Grilled Vietnamese meatballs with fresh herbs and rice noodles
3. Bánh canh: Vietnamese thick rice noodle soup consists of fish, shrimp
and noodle.
During the official visit to Vietnam at the end of May 2016, for his
dinner, President Obama enjoyed Bún Chả at this popular restaurant in
HaNoi. Obama wanted to make time for some visits and to discover the
local culture and gastronomy.
6. What types of housing do most people live in in your city? Which one do
you prefer?

In my city itself the majority of people live in apartment blocks. This is

because Hanoi is a densely populated city, and there is limited space for
detached houses. Apartments are also more affordable than houses, which is
important for many Vietnamese people.

7. How has the development of technology changed our ways of

communication? What problems may arise due to the overuse of technology
in our life?
Communication is a fundamental part of our society. There are many types
of communication, including verbal, nonverbal, and written.
Nowadays, technology dominates form of communication because it has
become so advanced that it’s changed the way we do everything.
Technology has provided many advancements and conveniences to our
lives. Technology advancements completely changed the way we
communicate with each other and, in general, made communication easier.
It’s now possible to speak with anybody from any corner of the world. The
internet and social media have made communication with others more
accessible and easier than ever by personal devices like smartphones or
computers.
There are several aspects of communication that mordern-age technology
changed forever, especially social media.
Social media is the biggest change that technology has created in recent
years. Social media is not only limited to sending messages to other
people but also posted pictures, videos, and various kinds of information.
Other people can react or comment on what you post. Social media has a
wide-reaching range. It has become the main driver for advertisements
and marketing nowadays. Online bussiness have become popular because
people can use social media to their advantage to reach a wider global
audience which was not possible before. It’s also possible to make a
living by streaming your content and gaining revenue from ads
depending on view count. Social media has opened a lot of opportunities
for us.

While some forms of technology may have made positive changes in the
world, there is evidence for the negative effects of technology and its
overuse, as well. The overuse of technology may have a more significant
impact on developing childen and teenagers.
Technologies, such as social media, are designed to bring people
together, yet may have the opposite effect in some cases. A study in
young adults aged 19-32 years found that people with higher social
media use were more than three times as likely to feel socially isolated
than those who did not use social media as often.
Technologies, smartphones and computers can hold a person’attention
for long periods. This may lead to negative healthy effects such as
eyestrain, pains in areas of the body. Children who overuse technology
may be more likely to experience issues, including: lack of attention, low
creativity, poor sleep quality, delays in language development, and more.

8. Should art and music classes be compulsory in children’s education at

schools? Why or why not?

Art classes, such as painting and drawing, are as important for children’s
development as other subjects, so it should be compulsory in high school.
Making art and music compulsory at schools makes students to grow interest
in non-academic subjects and get hands-on experience in these fields. This is
specifically advantageous for those who posses gift or passion for drawing,
singing or dancing, as it gives them a platform where they can develop and
perfect their artistic skills from an early age. Therefore, it is easier for them
to pursue their creative career afterwards.

Performing art can enhandce students’ imagination. To be more specific,

differrent art and musical subjects can help youngsters to be more creative
and sharpen their cognitive skills. This is beneficial because it boosts their
ability to produce some unique ideas, thereby getting them well-prepared for
their future prospect.

Art and music can teach the students how to collaborate with their
classmates. Sharing their experiences of the same work will also help them
understand each other. For instance, when students take part in an orchestra
as a player, they have to practice together for an upcoming concert. By
practising together and sharing notes, they can learn how to community and
co-operate effectively.

9. Describe a landscape in your country that you have visited. What activities
should tourist do there?

I come from Vietnam. You know, Vietnam is a peaciful and beautiful

country with numerous islands such as hoang sa, truong sa, phu quoc island
in the south of Vietnam, cai chien, co to, quan lan island in the nothern
Vietnam. Several months ago, I took a trip in Quan Lan island, and now I
am gonna introduce to you about it. From Ha noi capital, it is far way around
180 kilometers and of course, it take me around 5 hours get there by car and
boat. There are many reasons why I love this place so much. Firstly, Quan
Lan island is a perfect place for travelling and photography. It is also a must-
travel place with thousands of beautiful things to explore. I took a camera
with me to capture the stunning, breathtaking natural sceneries, and the
painted sunset and sunrise. I can see a lot of cottages which is in some
wonderful unspoilt areas on the edge of a dense forest. Other than that, how
amazing it was when tasting local cuisines as well as delicious seafood, such
as lobsters, oysters, shellfishes, … All of the things are amazing and worth
trying. The local people were close and friendly. They were conscious of
environmental protection. I stayed in a small, family-run hotel which nears
the beach. From my windows, I can see the ocean, listen the breath of the
beach. Besides that, there are many luxury hotels, and smart hotels. I’d
advise you to make a reservation before you go. The hotels near the beach
are very popular and get fully booked during the summer.

10. How important is the nature in our life? What measures can individuals take
to protect the environment?

The natural world is an incredible wonder that inspires us all. It underpins

our economy, our society, indeed our very existence. Our forests, rivers,
oceans and soils provide us with the food we eat, the air we breathe, the
water we irrigate our crops with. We also rely on them for numerous other
goods and services we depend on for our health, happiness and prosperity.
These natural assets are often called the world's 'natural capital'. These
benefits are also hugely important to the economy – from farming and
forestry to leisure and tourism. If you add them all up, the total value of
these benefits is phenomenal.
Because nature is free, we often take it for granted and overexploit it. We
clear forests, overfish oceans, pollute rivers and build over wetlands without
taking account of the impact this will have. By not taking into account the
benefits we get from nature, we create huge social and economic costs for
ourselves. We need to look at the value of nature in economic and social
terms to help us better understand the full implications of the choices we
make. Instead of making decisions based on short-term financial interests,
we can look at the longer-term benefits for people and the economy – and of
course nature itself.
Using this argument, we’re persuading governments and businesses to take
better care of the natural world, so that it can continue to sustain us all into
the future. "If we start to understand the value of nature to our society and
economy, we will recognise the importance of living in harmony with
nature, rather than destroying it for short term gain. So many governments
and businesses around the world are now realising this, and starting to act –
it gives me real hope for the future."

Ten Simple Things You Can Do to Help Protect the Earth

Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the
three "R's" to conserve natural resources and landfill space.
Volunteer. Volunteer for cleanups in your community. You can get involved
in protecting your watershed, too.
Educate. When you further your own education, you can help others
understand the importance and value of our natural resources.
Conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that
eventually end up in the ocean.
Choose sustainable. Learn how to make smart seafood choices at
www.fishwatch.gov.
Shop wisely. Buy less plastic and bring a reusable shopping bag. Use long-
lasting light bulbs.
Energy efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also flip the
light switch off when you leave the room!
Plant a tree. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean
the air, and help combat climate change.
Don't send chemicals into our waterways. Choose non-toxic chemicals in the
home and office.
Bike more. Drive less.
