Criteria and Mechanics
A. Mechanics and Criteria for the Slogan Making Content

     1. The contest is open to Grade 4 – 8 pupils/students.
     2. The slogan shall focus on the theme.
     3. The artwork shall follow a landscape orientation on a 1/8 size Illustration Board.
     4. The name of the Contestant and Grade Level shall be indicated at the back of the
        artwork.
     5. Use of any available medium shall be allowed.
     6. The slogan shall have a maximum of fifteen (15) words.
     7. Criteria for judging shall be as follows:
              a.   Relevance to the Theme-------------------40%
              b.   Originality -                              30%
              c.   Visual Impact                              20%
              d.   Neatness/Clarity--------------------------10%

B.    Mechanics and Criteria for the Poster Making

     2. The poster shall focus on the theme.

     4. The contestants are requested to provide:
           ➢ Scissors
           ➢ Glue
           ➢ ¼ illustration board
           ➢ Five (5) mineral water bottles
           ➢ One (1) 1.5 soft drink bottle
           ➢ 3 plastics of junk food
           ➢ 10 pieces of water bottle cups
           ➢ One (1 color paint)
      5.   Criteria for judging shall be as follows:
              a. Relevance to the Theme-------------------30%
              b. Originality                              30%
              c. Visual Impact                            20%
d.    Neatness/Clarity-----------------------------20%

 D. Mechanics and Criteria for the Essay Writing

      1. The contest is open to Grade 4 – 8 pupils/students.
      2. The topic of the essay will be provided at the venue of the competition.
      3. The contestant shall provide their own pen and clean bond papers.
      4. The name of the Contestant and Grade Level shall be indicated at the back of the
         bond paper.
      5. No printed materials, electronic gadgets, or storage devices shall be utilized.
      6. Criteria for judging shall be as follows:
               a.   Content (Relevance to the theme, Comprehensiveness, Originality, Insights)----40%
               b.   Organization (Clarity of Thoughts, Creativity, Unity and Consistency)---------------30%
               c.   Mechanics (Punctuation, Spelling, Capitalization, Grammar)-------------------------20%

 E.    Mechanics and Criteria for the Quiz Bee

      1. The contest is open for Five (5) pupils/students per grade level.
      2. Each level will be facilitated by a quizmaster.
      3. Each participant shall be provided with a board, chalk and eraser.
      4. There shall be four (4) rounds for all categories: Easy, Average, Difficult, and
          Clincher. There shall have five (5) EASY questions, five (5) AVERAGE questions, three
          (3) DIFFICULT questions, and 1 CLINCHER question.
      5. Each correct answer on easy round has one (1) point, average round has two
          (2) points, and difficult has three (3) points.
      6. Questions will be prepared by the Grade Level Teacher in a short bond paper, font
          size 16, font style Times.
      7. The game master shall read each question twice. After the second reading, the
          quizmaster shall say "GO”. Only then the contestants shall begin writing their
          answers on the board provided.
      8. Each question must be answered within the allotted time. Ten (10) seconds for
          the identification questions and thirty (30) seconds for questions that require
          solving.
      9. After the limit and buzzer sound, the contestants will automatically stop writing.
          The contestants should raise their answers.
      10. The total score of the contestant after three (3) rounds will be his/her score.
          The contestant with the highest score after the three rounds shall be declared
          as the winner.
      11. In case of a tie, the Clincher round shall be played. It is a knock out system between
          or among the contestants with equal score until a winner emerges. The first one who
          can answer the correct answer first shall be declared as a winner.
 F.    Mechanics and Criteria for the Amazing Race Competition

   1.   The contest is open to Grade 3 – 8 pupils/students.
   2.   Each team must have ribbon, with the color of their team, attached to their wrist.
   3.   Team members must remain together throughout the race.
   4.   Team members shall gather at the game starts upon the signal of the facilitator.
   5.   The team shall accomplish the task given to every station.
   6.   There will be five (5) stations.
   7.   Every accomplished task has a corresponding phrase written on a paper.
   8.   The team who finished the race first declares as winner.
G. Mechanics and Criteria for the Trashion show Competition

   1.   The contest is open to Grade 5 – 8 pupils/students. One (1) male and one (1) female
        each level.
   2.   The candidates should wear a futuristic Fashion Style.
   3.   The clothing MUST be PERSONALLY made (not rented) to avoid disqualification.
   4.   The clothes must be made from RECYCLED, NON-BIODEGRADABLE and RESIDUAL
        materials. No using of TRASH BAGS, FABRICS, GLITTERS and Animal integuments
        like feathers, skin and furs.
   5.   The designer must have a description of the clothes about;
        - Materials used
        - Inspiration of design/motif
        - Relevance to the theme
        - Any other additional information about the costume
   6.   Criteria for judging shall be as follows:
            a.   Durability and Reusability------------------30%
            b.   Relevance to the theme--------------------25%
            c.   Uniqueness                                  20%
            d.   Resourcefulness and Craftmanship-----15%
            e.   Overall Fashion impact----------------------10%

H. Mechanics and Criteria for the Sayawit Competition

   Place:
   1.   The contest is open to grade 7 and 8 students.
   2.   Each group must have four (4) grade 8 participants and five (5) grade 7 participants.
   3.   Dancers and singers are considered as participants.
   4.   The performance must consist of a song and dance presentation related to the theme.
   5.   Participants must actually sing and dance at the same time. Any song in English
        or Filipino or a combination thereof maybe utilized.
   6.   The presentation should last for a maximum of five (5) minutes, in which period
        shall be included intro and outro of the performers.
   7.   Criteria for judging shall be as follows:
            a.   Environmental relevance/message-------30%
            b.   Voice quality                              20%
            c.   Precision of dance movement-------------20%
            d.   Originality and costume------------------10%
            e.   Projection and overall impact-------------10%
