Part 1: Personal information (4 marks)
Note: Students will be asked 4 questions, each of which is from
the following four topics.
Lifestyle:
• How often do you eat out?
I often eat out about twice a week because I have to study at
school everyday and I don't have freetime to cook.
• How do you usually spend your free time?
I usually spend my freetime to relax, such as surfing the
internet, reading to book, listening to music and so on.
• Are you reading any good books at the moment?
Yes, I’m currently reading an interesting book called “chua kip
lon da phai truong thanh” by author Tớ là Mây. It is a very
helpful book for me, this book helps me to be in a better mood
whenever I have bad feelings so I often read the book before
going to bed.
• Where do you normally go on holiday?
I normally go to Vũng Tàu city on my holiday, because the
scenery here is beautiful.
I can enjoy special seafood, swimming in the sea, watching
sunset and sunrise, walking along the beach with my friends and
family members. I feel relaxed and comfortable when I come
here.
Unit 1:
1. Describe your daily routine.
In the morning, I get up early at 5:30am and do excrise for 30
minuters . At 6 am, I have breakfast Then I go to school by
motorbike with my friend and start my day's lessons. After
school, I have lunch at the cateen with firends, I usually go
home to rest at noon. in the afternoon , I often spend time
studying in the school library . In the evening I often cook and
clean the house. After dinner at 6pm , I frequently spend
freetime to relax: such as surfing the internet, listening to
music and reading to book. Besides, I think play sport is very
good for health, so I usually play badminton with my roomate at
7:30 pm in the park and return home to do homework at 9pm.
Finally, I always plan the next days, text with fiends before
going to bed at 11:00 pm. That’s my daily routine! Thank you

2. Talk about how to improve your life style.
Today, I want to share with you some tips to improve my
lifestyle.
Firstly, make exercise a regular part of my routine. Exercise
can help me maintain a good healh.
Secondly, maintain a balanced diet. Make small, sustainable
changes to my diet to improve my overall nutrition.
Thirdly, get enough sleep. Getting enough sleep is essential for
my mental and physical health. Try to get 7-8 hours of sleep
each night.
Fourthly, sport is very good for health. Many sports like
running, swimming, badminton, volleyball, soccer, You can try.
Finally, continue to learn and develop my skills. Learning new
things and developing my skills can help me increase my
confidence and improve my overall well-being.
I think that small changes can make a big difference. Thank you

• What sport do you play?
I often play badminton when I have freetime because I think
play sports is really exciting and helpful to health.
• What sport would you like to try?
I would like to play volleyball because I watch it a lot of on TV
so I feel interested, it’s an international sport and I want to try
what it feels like to compete for a ball and score.
• What sport is the most popular in your country?
I was born and grew up in Vietnam, where all children play with
the ball during their childhood. Therefore, football has become
one of the most popular sports in my country.
• Which sport do you not like watching?
I don’t like watching basketball. Because it's a rather strange
sport for me. However, I don’t understand the rule and I find
it's not interesting.
Unit 2:
1. Talk about your interests
In my daily life, I have some interests such as travelling,
cooking, listening to music, reading to book and so on.

However, I enjoy reading book most. For me, books are always
a good friend.

Reading books makes me feel relaxed after many long stressful


hours at school.

Reading through a book always helps me fill my free time with


pleasure. At the weekend, after lunchtime, I often spend hours
visiting bookstores. There is one location that is very close to
my area. It takes about ten minutes to get to the bookstore. Its
name is Phuong Nam. I come here every week to look at new
books, or sometimes I may need to find some books with old
versions that I have not read.

Reading books is an excellent way to help me experience many


things. The more books I read, the more lessons I earn. My free
time has been more advantageous for me in doing things since
the day I decided to spend time on books. I have found my
pleasure through books.
Moreover, books are also available for valuable courses to
obtain knowledge. I advise new readers to find books they are
interested in; it will be easy and more helpful for them.

2. Talk about your favourite sport


My favourite sport is football. Because I watch it a lot of on TV and I
feel interested. I was born and grew up in Vietnam, where all children
play with the ball during their childhood. Therefore, football has become
one of the most popular sports in my country. It’s an international sport
and I want to compete with 10 other people for a ball. Playing football
helps me increase my confidence and improve my health. Playing
football makes me feel happy and comfortable. I often play football on
the weekend with my friends. In addition, I amire a lot of footballers
such as: Lionel Messi, Cristino Ronaldo, Pele. In conclusion, I think
football is very interesting and emotional. In my country, at the match
has thousand of people watching it stadium and millions watching on
TV. Football is the king sport and I really love football very much.

• How do you go to university every day?
Well, I usually go to my university by motorbik every day. It
takes me about 15 minutes from home to my school. However, if
there is a traffic jam, it will take much longer
• Which type of transport is the most popular in your city?
I think that the most popular transport mean is private motorbikes in
Hochiminh city. Almost everyone has a motorbike because it is very
convenient to travel everywhere in this busy city. The roads are narrow
and the people are too crowded, so motorbikes are the most effective
transport means here.

• How do you feel about public transport in Ho Chi Minh


city?
In my opinion, public transport is terrible because there are
horrible traffic jams everywhere. The are a lot of private
vehicles taking part – in commuting at rush hours. In
addition, people do not comply with traveling rules.

• Are there often traffic problems in your city?


Yes, there are. It is a serious problem in rush hours, so traffic
flows look always overloaded leading to commuters breaking
the law.
Unit 3:
1. Talk about your favourite means of transportation
My favorite means of transport is bicycle.
Firstly, the bike helps me exercise. Cycling not only keeps you
healthy, but also keeps you fit.
Secondly, it helps me enjoy my life. An hour of cycling around
the park can help you get some fresh air.
After all, it helps to protect our environment. It doesn’t create
pollution. This is very important in big cities.
Me and my friends often rent public bicycles to ride around the
park on weekend mornings. This really helps me enjoy my life
after school.
2. Give travel advice to a visitor who arrives in Vietnam for the
first time.
+ If you visit the local city center, you should take a city tour
bus because you can see the city life of local people who make a
living on the stress, buyers and sellers shout out to communicate
for their business, modern and old buildings surrounded the
town. From your bus, you can see a vivid and busy city life.
+ Taking a taxi or a technological motorbike to travel back
and word is a good idea, too, because it is cheap and convenient.
+ If you go on a long trip to a distant place, you should take
a sleeping bus, train, or local flight, it is very comfortable with a
reasonable price.
Car is a convenient and safe means of transportation, suitable for
foreign tourists to travel in Vietnam. However, the cost of
traveling by car is usually higher than renting a motorbike.
Whentraveling by motorbike, saving money and time is both
convenient and can bring many interesting experiences if you go
with 2 people. If you go in a large group of family and friends,
like about 4 to 7 people, then a car will be a reasonable choice
for passengers carrying a lot of luggage or a large group of
people, comfortable space. , safe. There are great roads through
Vietnam by car and it will be an unforgettable experience if you
have the opportunity to travel by
Challenges:
• Are you a person who takes risks or are you usually very
careful?
Actually, I am a careful person. I usually do almost everything
in my plans. My habit repeats every day quite similarly because
I want to control my daily activities well. I make plans and try to
achieve my goals step by step.
• What is a big achievement in your life so far?
So far in my life, I think passing the entrance examination of
this university was one of my biggest achievements
• What will be a big challenge for you in the future?
Honestly,I think difficult for me to find a good job after
university will be a big challenge for me in my future. I will do
my best!
• Is there any kind of risky activity you would to try in the
future? Z
No, I don’t think so. I am a careful person, so I don’t want to
take risks in my life. I normally choose interesting but safe
activitives.
Unit 4:
1. Talk about an unforget table event that happened to you in
the past.
The event in my life that I remember the most was my 10th
birthday. It was a very happy and meaningful day. I prepared
food with my mother for the evening party. I invite a lot of
friends and relatives. That day everyone came very crowded.
Fortunately, my house has enough seats. Everyone gives me
eye-catching gifts. We sing a happy birthday song together. My
mother prepared a very large cake for everyone. My friends and
I talked happily together. I get good wishes from everyone. This
is the first time I have a birthday celebration. The later birthdays
are not as happy, so I miss this event very much. Whenever I
remember it, I always smile. I wish I could go back to that day
That's a beautiful memory I will never forget.
2. Give some English-learning tips to a beginner.
English is the most common language all over the world. There
is no compulsory method to study English, but each person has
to find the suitable one to study it efficiently. To me, I read
books in English in order to improve both my vocabulary and
grammar. Besides, I combine studying and entertaining. In my
free time, I often listen to English songs, watch English movies
and try to translate the lyrics as well as the subtitle. Furthermore,
I join an English club, where I can connect with some
international friends, and they are the best teachers to teach me
about English. I can learn some slang, idioms, and things that
normal teachers do not teach their students. I hope you can find

Some students stay up late because they have to study,
others spend time playing games and surfing social
networks all night.
1. How many hours do you usually sleep at night?
I often spend about 7 hours for sleeping at night. Somtimes I just sleep 3 or
4 hours a day because I have to do homewwork and prepare for the exam.

After school, I frequently spend time to relax such as: cooking, reading to
my favorite book, listening to music, chat with friends, watch a movie and
so on.

Absolutely yes…I love English songs. I spend time listening to my favorite
songs like: A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, I Do by 911,Lucky by
Jason Mraz, Nothin' on Me, Rather Be by Clean Bandit, Title and many
more.
2. How many hours a week do you spend learning English?
I study English 40 minutes every day. So I think I study about four and a
half hours a week. I regularly do the exercises in the book and improve my
pronunciation with friends.

I often use the internet to check daily class schedules,
watch news, listen to music, watch movies, text
messages, surf social network such as Tiktok, Facebook,
Instagram and so on.

After school, I often relax by listening to music, reading books


and texting with friends. Especially playing sports helps me
reduce stress and be full of energy
