GREECE MAP DIRECTIONS

Step One: Color. This is a PHYSICAL MAP - meaning that you will be coloring the map according to the elevation of the land. Use the map
on page 257 to neatly color the map using the following colors:

OVER 6,560 feet - ORANGE

1,640 - 6,560 feet - YELLOW

656 - 1,640 feet - LIGHT GREEN

0 - 656 feet - DARK GREEN

Step Two: Key. Create a Map Key to show the colors that were used to show the elevations. The list of elevations and colors above should
be copied into the key on your map.

Step Three: Identify. Neatly write the name of the locations below on your map. Locations are to be printed. Remember that each item
you write on your map is a proper noun and must be capitalized. Use the following pages in your textbook to locate each item on your
map: 257, 259, 260, 262, 278, 309, and 312. NOTE: You WILL NEED TO USE GOOGLE to identify some locations not found in your textbook.
To find good quality maps of Greece, type “Ancient Greek Map” into Google and use the maps that come up first in the results.

Step Four: Draw. Draw a compass rose showing the cardinal and intermediate directions.

Step Five: Finish. Using a fine line black pen (NOT A SHARPIE), write over your pencil writing to make it stand out on your map. Be neat!

Step Six: Proofread. Is it neat and legible? Is your name and period number on it? Is the Compass Rose complete? Is the Map Key
complete? Have all items been written on your map?
