1. OBJECTIVE
The objective is to describe and outline the work methodology for Water Reticulation
Installation for building construction (Pembinaan Sekolah Baharu 30 Bilik Darjah dan
Lain-lain Kemudahan Di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Permai, Kemaman,
Terengganu)
2. SCOPE
To establish the work method for supply and installation of MuPVC pipes, fitting under
the reticulation work for Pembinaan Sekolah Baharu 30 Bilik Darjah dan Lain-lain
Kemudahan Di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Permai, Kemaman, Terengganu

5. HANDLING AND STORAGE
i. Upon delivery at site, pipes and accessories shall be carefully and stored in a
designated area and covered in plastic and polystyrene sheets.
ii. The receiving is carried out to ensure materials delivered in accordance to
manufacturers requirements.
iii. Inspection and verification shall be done on the Delivery Order. This inspection
shall be performed by the main contractor site supervisor, the consultant and
relevant party(s). Rejection or acceptance of material delivered shall be by the
discretion of the inspection parties.
6. WORK PREPARATION
i. All machineries, equipment, tools and material must be in good condition and all
workers already inducted.
ii. The piping route shall be checked as per construction drawing
(MRC/SKMP/WR/17/01). Any adjustments of the installation due to the site
constrain, shall be obtained from the Resident Engineer and approval must be
granted before proceeding.

i. The land surveyor shall carry the survey setting out and all piping routes shall be
indicated on the ground by placing sand along the excavation line. Checked shall
be carried out by the site supervisor before proceed with the excavation.
ii. Upon reaching the formation level, a plain compactor shall be used to level and
compact the formation platform and all pipes and fitting shall be cleaned of soil
and dust and free form crack and distortion. Laying some crusher run and sand
underneath to reframe any movement of pipelines shall supports pipes.
iii. All pipes and fitting must be installed in right location which may be subjected to
mechanical damage, must be suitably protected, including during the construction
stages.
iv. After completion of installation, backfilling shall be carried out strictly according
to the construction drawing and specification with the proper compaction.
7. INSPECTION AND TESTING
i. The in-progress inspection shall be carried out to ensure conformance of the
installation work. A “Request for Inspection” form shall be forwarded to the
consultant / Clerk-of-Work to request for inspection to be carried out on the
particular work.
ii. The inspection result shall meet the requirement as stated in the approved
methodology.
8. SAFETY PRECAUTION
i. The working area will be demarcated using barricade tape and signage.
ii. The following personal protection equipment (PPE) and / or safety & health
related equipment are deemed the minimum protection gear required for the
carrying out the work:-
a. Safety Helmet
b. Safety Boots / Appropriate Shoes
iii. No work activity during raining and lightning.
