1. Setting up the Server PC to Static IP addressing. (Remember, this will be done on Server PC
only)
1. Disable network (Client Desktop and Client Laptop only)
2. Set server to Static with the following IP Address
- 192.168. .1
- 255.255.255.0
- (Note: Leave blank for default gateway)
3. Disable DHCP from router
2. Adding Roles and Features
1. Go to the Server Manager Dashboard
2. Click the ADD roles and features
3. Click the Next button (3X)
4. Select the ADDS (active Directory Domain Services)
5. Click the Add Features
6. Select the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
7. Click the Add Features
8. Select the DNS Server
9. Click the Add Features
NOTE: see to it that File and Storage services are installed.
10. Select Print and Document Services
11. Click the Add Features
12. Select the Web Server (IIS) (optional)
13. Click the Add Features
14. Click the NEXT button (8X)
NOTE: check the checkbox that says “Restart the destination server automatically if
required”
15. Click the INSTALL button.
NOTE: (wait until all the features have been installed, you can click the CLOSE button of the
dialog box while installing the required features)

4. Configuring DHCP Server

3. On the second raw of Post Deployment Configuration, click Complete DHCP Configuration
4. Click the NEXT button.
5. Click the COMMIT button.

7. On the upper left side corner of the Dashboard click DHCP.
8. On the right side of the screen box, Right click the highlighted Server name and IP address.
9. Select the DHCP Manager
10. Expand the Server domain (example : css.net)
11. Expand the IPv4
12. Right click the IPv4.
13. Select the New Scope
14. Click the NEXT button.
15. Type the Scope Name (example - Scope Name : CSS_SCOPE)
(example – Description : None/ Empty leave as blank)
16. Click the NEXT button.
17. Type the Start IP and End IP address (example – Start IP Address : 192.168.50.10 )
(example – End IP Address : 192.168.50.50 )
18. Click NEXT button (4X)
19. Enter also the IP address of the Router (example – 192.168. .1 )
20. Click the ADD button.
21. Click the NEXT button (4X)
22. Click the FINISH button.
23. Open the Network / LAN connections properties.
24. Select TCP/IPv4.
25. Click Properties.
26. Change the Preferred DNS (127.0.0.1) back to the same server IP address (192.168. .5)
27. Click the OK button.
28. Click the CLOSE button (2X)
29. Refresh the LAN by disabling and enabling the device.
NOTE: you can check the newly updated DNS IP address in the command prompt and type
the following: IPCONFIG /ALL then press the enter key.

FORWARD LOOKUP ZONES
1. Click the server manager icon.
2. On the upper let side corner of the dashboard, select the DNS.
3. On the right side of the screen box, Right click the highlighted Server name and IP address.
4. Select the DNS Manager
5. Expand the dns.css.net (css.net is the newly created domain name)
6. Expand Forward Lookup Zones
7. Expand the domain name, example : css.net
8. On the

9. Select the properties.
10. Put a check mark on the checkbox Update Associated Pointer Record (PTR)

29. Click the OK button (2X)

EDIT THE LOOPBACK IP ADDRESS
1. Right click the Lookback IP address
2. Select the New Pointer (PTR)
3. Enter the missing loopback IP address or HOST IP address. (example DNS: 127.0.0.1)
4. Click the SERVER
5. Change the Record Types: to ALL RECORDS
6. Double click the SERVER.css.net
7. Double click the Forward Lookup
8. Double click the Domain (example : css.net)
9. Select the “Same Parent as Icon” (Start of Authority SOA)
10. Click the OK button.
6. Configuring File and Storage Services
1. Click the Server Manager Icon
2. Select the File and Storage Services
3. Right click the highlighted Server
4. Select the Add Roles and Features
5. Click the NEXT button (3X)
6. Under Roles, Expand the File and Storage Services
7. Expand the File and iSCSI Services.
8. Select the File Server Resource Manager
9. Click the ADD Features button.
10. Click the NEXT button (2X)
11. Click the INSTALL button.
7. Creating Organization and User
Accounts Creating 2 Organization Units
1. Click the Server Manager Icon
2. On the upper right corner of the dashboard screen, click the TOOL menu.
3. Select the Active Directory Users and Computer
4. Expand the Domain (css.net)
5. Right click the domain name (css.net)
6. Select New
7. Select the Organizational Unit, then UNCHECKED the protect (optional).
8. Type the name of the Department.
9. Click the OK button.
10. Repeat Number 5 steps to create the second Organization.
Create 4 Accounts for the 2 Organizations
1. Select User
2. Look for Administrator in the list of features, then right click Administrator User
3. Select copy.
4. Enter User Information (First Name, Last Name and Logon Name)
5. Click the NEXT button.
6. Type the User Password, confirm the User Password
7. Unchecked the following options: Password never expires; User cannot change password.
8. Click the NEXT button.
9. Click the FINISH button.
10. Select the users you just created, then drag them to their corresponding organization.
8. Creating Folder Redirection (include the Mapping Folder)
1. On your computer task bar, click the Folder Explorer Icon.
2. Open your local disk C drive, then create there the folder REDIRECTION.
3. Right click the Folder REDIRECTION.
4. In the dialog box, click the Sharing Tab.
5. Click the Advanced Sharing button.
6. Tick on the checkbox Share this Folder.
7. Click the Permission button.
8. Click the ADD button.

9. Configuring Group Policy Management
1. Click the Server Manager Icon
2. On the upper right corner of the dashboard screen, click the TOOL menu.
3. Select the Group Policy Management
4. Expand the Forest.
5. Expand the Domain.
6. Expand domain css.net (e.g. css.net domain)
7. Click the Organization. (the department you just create)
8. Click the Delegation Tab
9. Click Advanced button.
10. Select authentication User.
11. Tick on the box full control
12. Click the APPLY button, then click the OK button.
13. Right click the AdminDepartment organization (the organization that you just create)
14. Create the GPO name.
15. Type the GPO that corresponds to the organization. (e.g. admin.GPO)
16. Click the GPO under AdminDepartment (organization)
17. Click the Delegation tab.
18. Click the Authenticated User.
19. Click the Advanced Button.
20. Select authenticated user.
21. Tick on the box full control
22. Click the APPLY button, then click OK button.
23. Right click the GPO under AdminDepartment (organization)
24. Click the ENFORCED button. (this will secure the GPO)
25. Right click the GPO again under AdminDepartment.
26. Select the EDIT button.
27. User Configuration, then click the Policies.
28. Expand Windows Settings
29. Expand Folder Redirection
30. Right click Desktop. Then select the Properties.
31. A dialog box pops up, Click Target Tab, under settings select BASIC.
32. Paste the Network Path to Root Path text box.
33. Click the SETTING tab.
34. Unchecked all boxes.
35. Click the APPLY button, the click the YES button.
36. Click the OK button to finish.
NOTE: for DOCUMENTS Perform procedure numbers 30 up to 36, and for another
department or organization perform procedure numbers 7 up to 36.
10. Group Policy Updating
1. Click Start + R
2. Type cmd then hit the enter key
3. In the command prompt type GPUPDATE/FORCE (small or capital letter is fine)
NOTE: wait till the policy updated
11. Managing Server Printer Deployment
1.) Go to TOOLS
2.) Select Print Management
3.) Expand Print Servers
4.) Expand Server name (local)
5.) Click Printer
6.) Right click the Printer
7.) Select properties
8.) Select Sharing Tab
9.) Tick on the box “List in the Directory”
10.) Click the OK button
11.) Right click the printer (e.g. Canon or Epson)
12.) Select “Deploy with Group Policy”
13.) Click the BROWSE button to browse the GPO
14.) Double click the Group Folder or Organization folder
15.) Select the GPO
16.) Deploy this printer connection to the following: Tick the two boxes
17.) Click the ADD button
NOTE: if you want add more GPO’s click again the BROWSE button to add another.
18.) Click the APPLY button
19.) Click the OK button (2X)
12. Joining the Client to the Network Domain
1. Enabled the LAN connection for desktop client

a. On the desktop, create a folder.
b. Open the folder.
c. Inside the folder, right click and create a new document or notepad file.
d. Save the file.
3. Go back to Server PC
a. Run the folder explorer.
b. Open the local disk C drive.
c. Open the Redirection Folder
d. Select any User account, then open it.
e. Explore the shared file and make a reply.
4. Switch User Account and do the same operation.
5. View who is connected to the network domain.
14. Remote Desktop Connection
NOTE: when performing Remote Desktop Connection, see to it that Remote Settings must be on
to allow remote connections to this computer.
1. Press Start + R
2. Type “Remote Desktop Connection”, then hit the enter key.

5. Windows Security Dialog box appears
6. Type the Administrator Password
NOTE: (if you are using the server PC to connect to the client pc, it only requires to enter the
administrator password. However, if you are using the client pc to remotely connect to server
or other pc, you will need to select Another Account and this will require to enter the
Administrator name and password
7. Click the YES button to open the remote pc.
