Assignment No. 2 :
Cultural Festival at KIPS College
I am Fizza from KIPS College, a student from Pakistan who has always had a deep love for
exploring various cultures. Events and festivals hold a special place in people’s lives; they bring
communities together, allowing us to celebrate our traditions and values. In a college setting,
cultural festivals are particularly meaningful because they help students from different
backgrounds appreciate each other’s unique histories.

My college organized a cultural festival on the night of January 15 during my second year. It
was wonderful opportunity to experience and learn about the diversity around us. The event was
set to celebrate a variety of global cultures, including Hollywood, Kalash, Chinese, Pakistani,
Arabic, and Japanese.

Each culture represented at the festival brought a unique style and charm. There were
representing foods, clothing, and activities that reflected different traditions. The campus was
filled with colorful decorations. This atmosphere gave us all a chance to meet others. Although
I’m from a Pakistani background, I have always had a special fondness for Arabic culture. The
rich history, language, and customs of Arabic life inspires me, so I decided to represent Arabic
culture at the event.

For my role, I played an “Arabic wife” and dressed in a beautiful abaya, reflecting the traditional
elegance I admire in Arab customs. I love Arabic culture for its strong family values, hospitality,
and respectful traditions. Our stall was decorated with Arabic calligraphy and traditional decor,
creating a welcoming atmosphere. We offered classic Arabic dishes like hummus, falafel, and
baklava, which were hit. The Arabic coffee, added a touch and made the experience even more
enjoyable for everyone. Walking through the event, visitors could sample a variety of global
cuisines, including Japanese sushi, Pakistani biryani, and Chinese dim sum.

Representing Arabic culture made me feel deeply connected to it. As I interacted with friends
and visitors at our stall, I shared information about Arabic customs, especially their art, and
social gatherings. We also participated in traditional Arabic dances, and introduced the audience
to the beauty of Arabic music and poetry.

I am fond of Arabic culture because of their hospitality, and the beauty of language. As I took on
the role of an Arabic woman for the night, I felt proud to represent a culture that holds a special
place in my heart. The cultural festival at KIPS College was a wonderful experience that allowed
all of us to learn and celebrate. Even though I am no longer at this college, if I ever find a chance
to experience a similar cultural festival in university or elsewhere, I know I will enjoy it just as
much.
