National Cyber Security Awarness
Workshop
About the workshop
Cybersecurity in India is a growing concern due to the exponential increase in cyber threats targeting
individuals, businesses, and critical infrastructure. With the rapid digital transformation, the country
faces significant risks from data breaches, phishing attacks, digital arrests, and ransomware. Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann ki Baat, has emphasized the importance of robust cybersecurity
measures, highlighting its crucial role in national security and economic stability. The government has
introduced several initiatives to combat cybercrime, but every citizen's awareness and proactive
involvement are essential to creating a resilient digital environment. Raising public awareness and
implementing strong cybersecurity practices are vital to safeguarding India's digital future.
To be a vital part of the initiative taken by the Indian government to make the nation's citizens aware
of the ongoing cybercrimes and how to safeguard themselves from them, India Space Week is
organizing a one-day workshop, “National Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop”.
About India Space Week
India Space Week is an autonomous institution with support from Central and State governments. It
started as a nationwide event named “India Space Week from 12th Aug to 18th Aug” to celebrate the
birth ceremony of the father of space of India, Dr Vikram Sarabhai, and the Establishment Day of the
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and to spread awareness about space science and
technology.
With a firm belief in the growth of the Indian space sector and rising of India as a global leader in the
global space industry, India Space Week established its two wings: India Space Academy to promote
space education and make Indian youth future ready for the space industry and India Space Lab that
provides the bright minds of the nation with highly sophisticated and cutting-edge equipment and
instrument to conduct research for India’s future space endeavours.
India Space Week is affiliated with prestigious national and international organizations like the United
Nations Geospatial Information and Management (UN-GGIM) Academic Network, NASA, JAXA, ISRO, IN-
SPACE, European Space Agency, and Egypt Space Agency. It is also a member of the Indian Society of
Geomatics and the Indian Society of Remote Sensing.
This nationwide workshop on cybersecurity is another step taken by India Space Week to educate and
make the common people of the country aware of cybersecurity.
