-METHOD-
Arms - make 2 with red yarn.
1.CH2, SC6 into the 2nd CH from hook {6}
2-21. SC around {6}
Join and FO.
Do not stuff.
Legs, body, and head – begin with red yarn.
1.CH2, 6SC into the 2nd CH from hook {6}
2.(SC1, 2SC into the next ST) 3 times {9}
3-33. SC around {9}
Join and FO.
Do not stuff leg.
Repeat rows 1 – 33 to make second leg, do not fasten off. CH2 and
SL ST into any ST from row 33 from the first leg you made. This is to
join the two legs; we will now continue to crochet around both legs
and the CH2 space to make the body.
Continuing from the SL ST in the 2nd leg….
34.SC8 (around the leg not including the stitch we SL ST into) SC1
into one side of each of the CH2 we made, SC8 (around second leg
not including the stitch we CH2 from, SC1 into the opposite side of
the CH2 space we made. {20}
35-48. SC around {20}
We now want to introduce the arms, to do this flatten your work and
identify the two very side stitches, put a clip marker in each of these
stitches (there should be 8 stitches in between your markers if they
are placed evenly.
49.SC to the 1st stitch marker, (SC around the 6STS of one of the
arms attaching it to the body, remove the stitch marker and skip this
stitch), SC to the next stitch marker and repeat () to attach the
second arm to the body, SC to end. {30}

Change to pink yarn for the head.

Insert eyes between rows 63 and 64, 3 STS apart.
Stuff head.
With yarn tail sew hole closed by picking up the front loop only of the
remaining 12 stitches in order, and then pull tight to close.
With black yarn sew mouth onto head.
With blusher make cheeks for your Elf.
Hair – make with Brown yarn.
-The hair is made in two pieces. One of the pieces will be sewn
around the back and side of the head (bottom piece), and the
second piece will be sewn on top (top piece).
-Pin the pieces into place to check alignment before sewing.

Change to red yarn
