1. Check the given cylinder bore, setting the bore tool and re-bore the worn out cylinder bore
for a given dimension by using cylinder re-boring machine
2. Assemble the given fuel injection pump and do the basic settings using FIP test rig.
3. Conduct the engine diagnosis test of a given four wheeled vehicle using engine analyzer
and suggest the service requirements of a car.
4. Adjust the clutch pedal play, brake pedal play, hand brake play and steering wheel play of
a given vehicle as per manufacture’s specification.
5. i. What is meant by tyre rotation? Conduct tyre rotation of a given four wheelers.
ii. Remove and fit tyre and tube of any one wheel.
6. i.Do the wheel bearing tightening and adjustment of the given vehicle.
ii. Calculate the ovality and taper of the cylinder in the single cylinder two wheeler engines.
Also check the necessity and suitability cylinder for re-boring.

7. Explain the layout of a typical authorized garage to do the repair and maintenance work of
automotive vehicles. Enlist the major equipments require to carry out over hauling work of
entire vehicles.
8. i) Assemble the given fuel injection pump and do the basic settings using FIP test rig.
ii) Dismantle and assemble the fuel injector and set the nozzle opening pressure of
180/200 bar. Check the NOP using nozzle tester.
9. I) Set the fuel injection timing for 23o bTDC and remove the air lock in a given single
cylinder diesel engine
ii) Study and remove the air lock in hydraulic brake system and adjust the brake shoe for
wear.
10. Conduct the following tests in a given battery
i. Individual cell voltage
ii. Heavy discharge test
iii. Check the specific gravity of electrolyte
iv. Calculate the charging voltage and current setting
11. Conduct the battery charging test and draw the graph between voltages with charging time
of a given battery.
12. Conduct the following reconditioning operation for the inlet and exhaust valves of a multi
cylinder engine cylinder head.
i. Valve grinding and checking the valve angle
ii. Valve lapping and seating
iii. Checking for valve leakage test

engine and clean the air filter.

b) Do the major and minor tune up works in the given petrol engine.
17. To contact the wheel alignment test on the given vehicles and to find the castor angle and
camber king pin inclination and Toe-in and Toe-out for a given vehicles using wheel
aligner.
Explain the significance of the above wheel alignment parameters.
