The seven phases will cover 543 constituencies.

In addition, four states—Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim—shall

hold simultaneous assembly elections.

The results of these elections will become available on June 2 (Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim)
and June 4 (Andhra Pradesh, Odisha).

This will be the 18th Edition of the election.

This will be the largest-ever election in the world, surpassing the 2019 general elections
and will be the longest-held general elections in the country with a total span of 44 days
(excluding the first general election).

Over 55 lakh EVMs are to be deployed for the mammoth exercise in democracy, which is
also the world’s largest electoral movement of men and material.

The tenure of the 17th Lok Sabha is scheduled to end on June 16, 2024.

The Lok Sabha 2024 election will witness a total of approx 96.8 crore electors.

In 12 states, the ratio of female voters is higher than that of male voters.

Over 85 lakh first-time female voters will participate in this year's election.

The CEC announced the elections on 544 seats, while Lok Sabha had only 543 seats.

The elections for two Lok Sabha seats in Manipur will be held in two phases on April 19
and 26. Inner Manipur and some segments of Outer Manipur will vote in Phase 1 on April
19 and in Phase 2 on April 26, the remaining segments of Outer Manipur will vote again.
Voting on one seat will be held twice due to displacement in the state that remained
gripped by recurring bouts of violence since ethnic clashes between the two
communities first erupted on May 3, 2023.
