Pattern Notes
Ch 1 and ch 2 at beginning of rows do not count as stitches
The numbers in parenthesis at end of rows and rounds indicate how many total
stitches you should have when that row or round is complete
The Partridge Creek Poncho is worked in one continuous piece, with no seaming
      required
The collar is worked flat, and the body of the poncho is worked in the round - Pay
close attention to changing your hook size after the collar is complete
You will make (2dc, ch2, 2dc) all in the chain 2 space to create the increase triangle
      shape
If you want to make your poncho larger than the pattern dimensions, keep adding
rounds and increasing in the chain 2 spaces, as done in the previous rows
If at any point you feel it’s long or large enough, stop increasing and skip to round 15
Keep in mind, your gauge, yardage used, and finished size may vary depending on the
yarn you choose and if you make your poncho larger or smaller than the sample
                                                                                             3

Pattern Continued…
At this point, if you want to make your poncho larger and longer, keep increasing in the ch 2
spaces for as many rounds as you desire. Each round should increase by 8 stitches total.
Otherwise, continue to round 15.
Round 15: Ch 1, sc 40, 5sc in ch space, sc 80, 5sc in ch space, sc 40, sl st to top of ch 2 to

Toggle Assembly
Toggle buttons are sewn to the inside of the collar, so when it’s opened, the buttons are lying
flat and showing on the front of the collar, (see photo below).
Lay your poncho flat, insert your tapestry needle into a scrap piece of the same yarn and into
the toggle. Attach the button around one single crochet stitch on the inside of row 1. Tie off
and weave in ends. Repeat this for the other two buttons on rows 7 and 15.
Lightly steam collar and body of poncho with a steamer or the steam function on an iron for a
beautifully finished garment.
                                                                                              6
