Silver. Any DK 8 ply or Light Worsted #3 should work but make a sample first.

Quantities are based on average requirements so are therefore approximate.

4” / 10cm = 17 stitches and 13 rows over hdc using 4.00mm hook.
Or Bobble pattern = 8 bobbles and 3 rounds using 4.00mm hook.

of time in the long run. Change hook size or yarn until your sample equals
gauge.

BACK POST DOUBLE CROCHET - Yarn over and instead of inserting hook into
top of stitch, insert hook behind work behind post of stitch, yarn over and
draw up a loop (3 loops on hook) yarn over and draw through 2 loops twice. (A
normal double crochet wrapped around the post of stitch from behind. Photos
below:

BOBBLE - (5 dc) into same stitch, remove hook from loop insert hook through
top of first dc on right and insert hook back into loop on left and draw through
first dc to form bobble, ch 1 and pull tight to secure (securing
chain). (Pics in body of pattern).
FRONT POST DOUBLE CROCHET - Yarn over and instead of inserting hook into
top of stitch, insert hook in front of work behind post of stitch, yarn over and
draw up a loop (3 loops on hook) yarn over and draw through 2 loops twice.
(A normal double crochet wrapped around post of stitch). Photos below:
HALF DOUBLE CROCHET 2 TOGETHER: (To decrease 1 Stitch) – Yarn over,
insert hook into first stitch of the two stitches you are going to combine into
one, yarn over and draw up a loop, (3 loops on hook), yarn over and insert
hook into next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (5 loops on hook) yarn over
and draw through all 5 loops.

HAT
Made in rounds of bobbles from bottom up to top so no sewing of seams ☺
Hat is then turned upside down and (optional) ribbed band in rounds is added
last.

SECOND TO LAST ROUND (WS) HDC2TOG
Ch 1, 1 hdc2tog between ch 1 spaces of front 2 bobbles and back 2 bobbles,
then turn sideways and work the second half of the hdc2tog through the ch 1
spaces so you end up with 1 stitch.
So yarn over, insert hook between front 2 bobbles and back 2 bobbles, yarn
over, pull up a loop, (3 loops on hook), yarn over, turn hat quarter turn so you
can insert hook between 2 bobbles front and back the other way, yarn over
and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 5 loops. Pic below:
LAST ROUND (RS) – FINAL BOBBLE
Ch 1, 1 bobble into top of hdc. FASTEN OFF. Use tail to sew bobble to base of
