Whether this is your f irst murder mystery experience or your
fortieth, each murder mystery experience is different and has
different rules pertaining. Here are some tips to review to help
make sure the night is an unforgettable experience.
Read Your Character Sheet: This contains your identity and all the
information you will need to play your part.

Don’t Reveal Everything About Your Character: While there

are many things that everyone needs to know about you, there are some
things that should remain secret. Use your discretion as to not give too
much away-- you may find out at the party that you are the killer indeed!

Dress The Part: It’s a proven fact that the more into character you
are the easier it will be for you to truly enjoy all the aspects of the night.
In addition, it adds to the excitement, the photo opportunities, and your

 Wyatt Barley
A young man with many promising qualities, you were going far in life until you were convicted of felony theft
by your employer, Bargain Mart. Now thirty-three, and after serving a prison term, you find yourself living with your
mother (Ginny Barley) in a trailer park.
While many convicted felons have committed terrible crimes, you have not! Even though no one believes you,
you are not responsible for the drugs and other opiates taken from the Bargain Mart pharmacy over a two-year
period. At first you assumed you were simply being falsely accused; however, as the evidence came out at trial, it
was clear you were framed by Sally Anne (another trailer park resident and fellow Bargain Mart employee). Not
wanting to create friction within the trailer park or spend extra time and energy, proving your innocence was simply
unimportant to you. However, since being released from prison, you have been unable to find a steady job. Despite a
strong work ethic, finding a new job requires that you have the conviction over turned in an appeal, and your criminal
history record fully deleted.
Upon returning from prison, you were happy to find a new trailer park neighbor, Sugar Plum. Although Sugar
Plum was shy at first, you and she had an undeniable romantic attraction when you were first introduced and
have been inseparable since. Part of what attracts you to Sugar Plum is her work ethic. Regrettably, she works
long evening hours at the truck stop diner with Missy Anne (another resident), so you do not spend much time
together. While you are quickly falling in love with Sugar Plum, your mother is not. Although Ginny Barley initially
approved of your relationship with Sugar Plum, she no longer does so and you do not know why. However, until
you are no longer living with and financially dependent on your mother, you need to please her. Because of this, you
intend to foster a good relationship between your mother and girlfriend.
Since returning to the trailer park, Bobby Rae’s demeanor towards you has also changed. Prior to your
conviction, your relationship with Bobby Rae was strained, at best. However, since your return he has gone out
of his way to be kind and welcoming. You wonder if his new attitude has anything to do with the fact that Sally
Anne broke up with Bobby Rae while you were in jail.
As luck would have it, you were released from prison in time for the annual trailer park BBQ. This is the
one time during the year when residents are treated by the trailer park owner, Louella Deville. This year will be
different since Lou (Louella’s husband) is no longer around. At the party, you hope to catch up with all of your
old neighbors and get the latest gossip. Additionally, you hope to talk with Dirk Dragster (the motorcyclist). As
the resident drug dealer, you surmise Sally Anne may have been stealing the Bargain Mart Pharmacy drugs and
selling them to Dirk!

Acting and Dressing Your Part: Glad to be out of jail, you are looking forward to the party.
Having spent two years behind bars, , you have a rough and rugged appearance with overgrown or unkept
hair, facial hair and potentially some tattoos picked up in prison. One option for the BBQ attire is to wear
your prison jumpsuit. Another option is dressing in the current trailer park neighborhood attire featuring
flannel, sleeveless undershirts, ill-fitting pants or cut-off jeans, boots, and facial hair. For more information on
