Cross-docking in SAP Extended Warehouse
Management (EWM) refers to the logistics process
where goods are received in the warehouse and
directly moved to the outbound area for shipment,
without being put away into storage. This process
is used to streamline operations, reduce handling
costs, and improve delivery speed.
Opportunistic Cross-Docking in SAP EWM refers to a
dynamic, real-time process where cross-docking
decisions are made based on current warehouse
activities and demand. Unlike planned cross-docking,
which relies on pre-determined strategies or plans,
opportunistic cross-docking happens on-the-fly when
certain conditions are met. Opportunistic cross-docking
is a dynamic strategy in SAP EWM where the decision to
cross-dock goods is made in real-time based on the
current inventory and outbound requirements.

CONFIGURATION STEPS
1. Badi: Activate and Adjust Inbound-Triggered Cross Docking
Process.
2. Badi: Activate and Adjust Outbound-Triggered Cross Docking
Process.
3. Define product Group types.
4. Define product Groups.
5. Activate EWM-triggered opportunistic Cross-Docking.
6. Maintain Stock Determination Groups.
7. Configure Stock Determination.
8. Specify Storage Type Search Sequence.
8.1 Assign Storage Types to Storage Type Search Sequence.
8.2 Define Stock Removal Control Indicator.
8.3 Determine Storage Type Search Sequence for Stock
Removal.
TESTING: -
1. Create material Master … T-CODE MM01.
2. Extend storage location to AFS in T-CODE MMSC
3. Extend Material Master to Product master in T-CODE /N/SCWM/MAT1.
4. Create purchase order in T-code ME21N.
5. Against to Purchase Order Create Inbound delivery in VL31N.
6. Process the Inbound Delivery in T-CODE /N/SCWM/PRDI.
7. Go to Monitor to check the status of the particular product.
8. Create Sales Order in T-CODE VA01.
9. Against to Sales Order we are going to create Outbound Delivery in
T- CODE VL01N.
10. Process the outbound Delivery in T-CODE /N/SCWM/PRDO.

Process.

3. Define product Group types.

4. Define product Groups.

5. Activate EWM-triggered opportunistic Cross-Docking.

Opportunistic Cross-Docking-> EWM-triggered opportunistic Cross-Docking-
> Activate EWM-triggered opportunistic Cross-Docking.

6. Maintain Stock Determination Groups.

Enter AFS storage Location and SAVE it.
3. Extend Material Master to Product master in T-CODE
/N/SCWM/MAT1.
Here Enter MATERIAL, WAREHOUSE, And PARTY ENTITILED TO
DISPOSAL (PED).
Then Click on CREATE.

Here Go to WAREHOUSE DATA Tab in Stock Removal, we have to
Enter Our Created Stock Removal Control Indicator (SRCI) And
Stock Determination Group.
4. Create purchase order in T-code ME21N.

Here we are going to Enter our Supplier, Purchase Organisation,
Purchase Group, Company Code, Material, Quantity, Currency,
Plant, Storage Location.
Here we have to give confirmation Control Key As 0004 Inbound
Delivery.
Click 0n SAVE Button, then we able to see Purchase Order will be
Created.
PURCHASE ORDER: 4500002249.
5.Aganist to Purchase Order we are going to Create Inbound delivery in
VL31N.
Click on ENTER.

SAVE It.
Here we see Inbound Delivery created.
INBOUND DELIVERY: 180000507.
6. Process the Inbound Delivery in T-CODE /N/SCWM/PRDI.
Here we have to Enter Delivery number and execute.
Then we have to click on UNLOAD And GOODS RECEIPT.
We able to see Status as UNLOADING And GOODS RECEIPT
Completed.

To check whether the Delivery is completed or not we have to go
T-CODE VL33N.
Here we see our Delivery in Completed status as see C and
movement type as 101.
7. Go to Monitor to check the status of the particular product.
Here we have to Enter the product and execute it.
Here we see Storage Type as 9010 and Bin as GR-ZONE, Product
as CROSS01, Stock Type as F1 And Quantity as 50.

SCENARIO: 1
Here in First Scenario, we are going to Pick only 25 Quantity out
of 50.
Here we are going to Create Sales Order.
8. Create Sales Order in T-CODE VA01.

Here we have to enter SOLD TO PARTY And SHIP TO PARTY,
CUSTOMER REFERENCE, PAYMENT TERMS, INCO TERMS,
MATERIAL, QUANTITY.
Then we have to Double Click on the Material.
Double click on material.
Here we have to shipping Tab and we have to enter PLANT,
STORAGE LOOCATION, SHIPPING POINT.

Go to Edit click on Incompletion log.
Select all items and then click on COMPLETE DATA.
Here we have to enter PR00 and AMOUNT as 100.
Click on Enter and click on Complete data and SAVE it.

We able to see Document Is Complete.
After saving we able to see sales order got created.
SALES ORDER: 5809.
9. Against to Sales Order we are going to create Outbound Delivery in T-
CODE VL01N.
Enter our SHIPPING POINT.
SAVE it.

Here we see Outbound Delivery Got created.
OUTBOUND DELIVERY: 80005381.
10. Process the outbound Delivery in T-CODE /N/SCWM/PRDO.
Enter the Outbound Delivery and EXECUTE it.
Go to OUTBOUND DLIVERY ->FOLLOW ON FUNCTIONS-
>WAREHOUSE TASK.

Click on Create, we able to line item in ITEM Level as our product
is moving from 9010 STAGING AREA to 9020 STAGING AREA
without any internal movements.
Then click on SAVE.
Here we see warehouse order got Created.
WAREHOUSE ORDER: 201.
To COMFIRM the TASK go to WAREHOUSE TAKS -> Click on
CONFIRM.

Click on CONFIRM + SAVE.
Here we able to see our TASK got Created.

Then we need to Click on LOAD And GOODS ISSUE.
Here we able to see LOADING And GOODS ISSUE Completed.
To Check whether the Outbound Delivery Completed or not.
We need to go to T-CODE VL03N.
Here we need to enter our OUTBOUND Delivery number.
And Click on ENTER.

Here we able to see in GOODS MOVEMENT DATA Tab, Our
Delivery status as completed C, With Movement Type as 601.
SCENARIO: 2
For this Scenario, Go to Our Inbound Delivery that we have
created 180000507.
Earlier we have Created Picking Task for only 25 quantity out of
50, remaining Quantity left over in 9010 (GR-ZONE) Staging
area.
Now we are going to move remaining Quantity 25 from
9010(GR-ZONE) to our preferred storage type i.e. KS10.
Go to Monitor to check were exact the remaining quantity.
Here we see the remaining quantity in 9010 staging area and the
bin was GR-ZONE, with the stock type F1.
Here input the delivery and execute, we see delivery status as
partially completed.

Here go to INBOUND DELIVERY -> FOLLOW ON FUNCTIONS ->
WAREHOUSE TASK.
Here we see Read Quantity as 50 Open Quantity as 25.
To put away the product to Our preferred storage type, for this we
have to go to DEFAULT VALUES Tab and here we are going to
enter Destination Bin and storage type.

Here Click on Create, we able to see the particular quantity of 25
moving from 9010 GR-ZONE to our Preferred storage type KS10
Bin as KS10-01-07.
Then click on SAVE.
Here we see warehouse order got created.
WAREHOUSE ORDER: 204.
To confirm the TASK, go to WAREHOUSE TASK And click on
CONFIRM.

Here we see our Delivery got Confirmed.

here we see GOODSMOVEMENT STATUS as C Completed. And
movement type as 101.
Here go to MONITOR, go to Available stock Enter Product and
execute it.
Here we see our material was placed (PUT AWAY) in our preferred
storage type KS10, and STOCK TYPE as F2.
