Pattern Info and Tips

Decorative Baskets
Pattern
Lid for Small Basket 1
Materials: Durable Braided Fine Dark Peach (3mm) Birch plate: 020.1308 and 020.1309 (17 cm)
Round 1: Work 1 ch through the first hole of the 17 cm birch plate (020.1308).
Work 1 sc into each hole of the plate using a 4-5 mm hook. Work the stitches over your starting yarn to
incorporate it into your work.
Keep your tension loose = total 44 sc.
Continue working in spirals.
Rounds 2-4:
Switch to a 6-7 mm hook and crochet a middle sc (msc) into every stitch from the previous round.
Round 5:
Work a back loop sl st into the sc of the previous round and finish with an invisible slstblo.
Pull the yarn through first, then work from front to back under the first bsl st, pulling the yarn back into the center
of the slstblo.
Pull the yarn through a bit further, weave it into the work, and trim the excess.

Small Basket
Round 1: Work 1 ch through the first hole of the 17 cm birch plate (020.1309). This will be the basket’s base.
Work 1 sc into each hole of the plate using a 4-5 mm hook. Work the stitches over your starting yarn to hide it.
Keep your tension loose = total 44 sc.
Continue working in spirals as described above.
Rounds 2-8:
Crochet middle sc (msc) throughout the round.
Finish the last stitch invisibly: cut the yarn with extra length, then pull it from back to front under the first sc and
finish in the middle of the last sc to create a neat “V” shape. Weave the yarn end at the back.

Finishing Touches:
Cut a piece of string and thread it through the hole of a wooden label. Knot the label at different points on the
basket.

Lid for Small Basket 2


Materials: Pale Peach (2192) Birch plate: 020.1307 and 020.1309 (17 cm)
Follow the same instructions as for Small Basket Lid 1.

Lid for Large Basket


Materials: Durable Braided Bordeaux (5mm) Birch plate: 020.1311 (25 cm)
Round 1: Work 1 ch through the first hole of the 25 cm birch plate (020.1311).
Work 1 sc into each hole of the plate using a 5 mm hook. Work the stitches over your starting yarn to incorporate
it into your work.
Keep your tension loose = total 52 sc.
Continue working in spirals.
Rounds 2-4: Switch to an 8-10 mm hook and crochet a middle sc (msc) into every stitch of the round.
Round 5: Work a back loop slst into the sc of the previous round and finish with an invisible slst blo as described
for Small Basket Lid 1.

Round 1: Work 1 ch through the first hole of the 25 cm birch plate (020.1312). This will be the basket’s base.
Work 1 sc into each hole of the plate using a 4-5 mm hook. Work the stitches over your starting yarn to hide it.
Keep your tension loose = total 52 sc.
Continue working in spirals as described above.
Rounds 2-8: Crochet middle sc (msc) throughout the round.
Finish the last stitch invisibly: cut the yarn with extra length, then pull it from back to front under the first sc and
finish in the middle of the last sc to create a neat “V” shape. Weave the yarn end at the back.

Serving Tray
Materials: Durable Braided Seagrass (402), 5 mm Birch plate: 25 cm (020.1312)
Round 1: Attach the yarn to the first hole of the 25 cm birch plate (020.1312) in the same way as described for
the baskets.
Work 1 sc into each hole around the plate using a 4-5 mm hook. Work the sc over your starting piece of yarn to
incorporate it into the work. Keep your tension loose.
Total stitches: 52 sc. Work in spirals.
Round 2: Work a back loop sc into every sc from the previous round. Continue working in spirals.
Rounds 3-4: Work a middle sc (msc) into every stitch of the round.
Round 5: Work a sl st under the sc from the previous round, finishing the last stitch with an invisible sl st.
Pull the yarn through and work it from back to front under the first sl st to create a clean “V.”
Cut a piece of string and thread it through the hole of a wooden label. Tie the label to the treay.
