           General pattern notes
    This pattern contains:
- written step-by-step instructions for crocheting the toy
- detailed photos of the process
- additional videos on tricky moments.
To watch a video, just click on a video name highlighted in
different color in the text. You will automatically be sent to YouTube,
where you can select video quality (3 dots in the upper right corner).
To watch videos, you need Internet access on your device. To watch
videos on your smartphone, I recommend using Adobe Acrobat
Reader app, it works correctly with clickable links incorporated in PDF
files.
The finished toy size from the materials recommended is
about 6-7 inches (14-18cm).
Difficulty level – beginner to medium.
The toy is crocheted top-down. Head and body are made
in one piece. The tail is attached in the course of crocheting
and the wings are attached with thread jointing. There are
no sew-on pieces. There is additional head attachment
option – movable, attached using a plastic joint.
You must have basic crocheting and amigurumi skills to
be able to follow this pattern.
I wish you lots of ideas and happy crocheting!

separately. In case of notable rounds beginning shift, work shift
stitches (see Abbreviations).
- Decreases in the pattern: you are free to choose between regular or
invisible decreases (see Abbreviations).

            Wings thread jointing
Use strong non-slip white thread for thread
jointing. You can thread a needle with
4 strands at once.
     Mark the wings attachment points:
2 points next to the neck at the sides, 18sts
apart across the chest. When attached like this,
the wings are slightly at an angle to the body
on the finished toy.
Attach the wings:
- Insert your needle at the back of the neck in the middle and
extract it at one wing attachment point. Go through the wing
edge, grabbing 1-2 stitches. Now insert your needle into the same
side point and go through the body coming out at the opposite
    side – point 2.
- Sew through the second wing and go through the body again.
Repeat 2-3 rounds like that, pulling on the thread slightly to draw
    wings closer to the body.
PLEASE NOTE: you should insert and extract
the needle right in and out of the wings
attachment points. It is a key thing for the
wings to be movable.
To finish send your needle to
the initial inserting point at the back of the
neck, snip off yarn, pull on the thread ends,
tie them and weave in.

                       Decoration
Do the eyes needle sculpting using strong thread matching the
body color.
-Insert your needle at the back of the neck in the middle. Do eyes
needle sculpting along the eyes inner corners – 2 rounds. If you are
making an owl with a movable head with a plastic joint, insert your
needle as close to the joint as possible when needle sculpting.
- Send your needle to the initial inserting point, pull on
thread ends carefully to deepen the eyes. Fasten off
and weave in.

Embroider eyelashes and a beak. Refer to the photos or your
taste.
I embroidered the beak at the level of rounds 11-13 of the head. I use
embroidery floss (without splitting it into strands). I do approx. 8-10
parallel stitches across the same crocheted stitches.
Embroider feathers over the head and body.

                               Ears
You can add ears to your owl. Decorate at your discretion.
Crochet the ears across the head stitches at the level of rounds 4-
7. work in main color in turning rows.
Mark 2 points, join yarn and crochet:
1) ch, 4sc (5)
2) ch, dec, 2sc (4)
3) ch, dec, 1sc (3)
4) ch, dec (2)
5) Turn and works across the side - 3-4sc. Cut yarn, fasten off and
weave in the yarn tail.
Optionally you can add tassels to the ears, use cotton yarn for that.

Continue crocheting in the same way until you reach the required
scarf length. I worked 29 rounds.
Finish crocheting the scarf with a round in red. Make a loop at the
end of the scarf - 7ch, join its end to the beginning of the round. Cut
yarn and fasten off.
You can use any other yarn for the scarf. You can make it wider or
