Solution: (note: for lap length, use 40db)

Parallel to 8m span:

Cut length:

8 – 2(0.075) = 7.85 m (straight)

Hook: use 16db

16(10) = 160 mm or 0.16 m

Use 6.0 m commercial length:

7.85 – 5.84 = 2.01 + 40(0.010) = 2.41 m (remaining)

Including hook:

2.41 + 0.16 = 2.57m

Quantity: (option 1)

10/0.4 = 25 + 1 = 26 pcs

26 pcs – 10 mm Ø x 6.0 m

Using 6.0 m: 2 pcs x 2.57m

26/2 = 13 pcs – 10 mm Ø x 6.0 m

Option 2:

Left side: 7.5m

26 pcs – 10 mm Ø x 7.5m
Right side: 1.07m

For 6 m: 5.61

For 7.5 m: 7.01 (less wastage)

7 pcs x 1.07m per 7.5m commercial length

26/7 = 4 pcs – 10 mm Ø x 7.5m

Summary: Convert to kilograms

Option 1:

26 pcs – 10 mm Ø x 6.0 m = 26(6)(0.617) = 96.252 kg

13 pcs – 10 mm Ø x 6.0 m = 13(6)(0.617) = 48.126 kg

Option 2:

138.825 + 148.08 = 286.905kg (₱40/kg)

=₱11476.20(1.05) = ₱12050.01 (with contingency)

₱12050.01(1.40) = ₱16870.014 (with contingency and mark-up)
