Our version of Vacation
Last July, our family took a short vacation to one of the beach resorts in
Samal to celebrate our parents' 15th wedding anniversary. The journey took nearly
two hours, including a 20-minute boat ride from Sasa Wharf to Samal Wharf. While
on the boat, our youngest sister asked, "Are you guys scared?" I replied softly,
saying, “I’m a little nervous but praying for a smooth ride." Our eldest sister, busy
taking photos, smiled and advised us to take it easy and enjoy the beautiful sea and
island views.
Upon arrival at Samal Wharf, the resort's service vehicle was already waiting.
After registering, we were driven to our cabin. The place was breathtaking. My
sisters and I immediately set off to explore, capturing countless pictures and we
were very happy. We then decided to swim in the pool while our parents and our
grandma relaxed in the cabin. That evening, we watched a fire dance and dined by
the sea, making for a perfect celebration of our parents' anniversary. The nighttime
scenery was stunning, causing another round of endless photos.
The next morning, we woke early for a swim in the sea. The beach, with its
fresh white sand, was perfect for building sandcastles. By 8 AM, we returned to our
cabin for breakfast. After a brief rest, we spent more time swimming in the pool. At
11 AM, our father reminded us to pack up before lunch, as we would be leaving by 1
PM. We packed our things and left the resort at around 12:30 PM.
Despite the short duration, the vacation was incredibly fun and filled with
wonderful moments. It made me realize that it doesn't matter how long a vacation
is; what matters is the amazing and unforgettable memories created.
