1 Scope and purpose

This standard contains dimensions and requirements as well as specifications for the ordering and
identification of hoses with one wire braid reinforcement inlay Type 1SN, which, except for external
diameter d 2 and wall thickness s3, conform to hose type 1ST in accordance with MAN 330-1. These
hoses with thinner outer layer can be reinforced without the outer layer or part thereof being removed.

2 Release conditions
All parts of the standard series MAN 239 apply to release of hoses in accordance with this standard. In
these standards the release conditions and procedures as well as the general terms of delivery for
purchased parts are laid down.
The MAN department EPTA at the Nuremberg works is responsible for the material inspection, material
release and for providing information.

3 Dimensions, designation, pressures

The dimensions for d 1 , d 3 and r as well as the pressures correspond to those of the 1ST hose in
MAN 330-1.
The other dimensions are listed in Table 1 below.
Designation of a hose with 1 wire braid reinforcement inlay Type 1SN, nominal diameter 10:

5 Identification

5.1 Identification labelling

The hoses must be marked permanently and continuously at intervals of max. 500 mm as follows. Marking in
accordance with MAN 312-1.
Example marking: MAN 330 - 1SN - DN - ∆ - xxx - xQxx
Standard number
Hose type

Manufacturer's trademark
Type identification designation of the manufacturer
Quarter and year of manufacture

If the hose cannot be marked with the MAN company standard number, the manufacturer's trademark and type
ID designation as well as the general standard number must be stated.

5.2 Material identification

The hoses are to be coded, when economically feasible, with the material codes for the inner and outer layer in
accordance with VDA 260. Content, carrying out marking and use of mandatory identification for MAN
components in accordance with MAN 312-1 or MAN 312-2.
