or stitch holders for holding stitches when not in use

Special instructions: KITTEN’S LEFT MUZZLE


W+Tk bring working yarn to the front of the work, slip next st purl- With yarn AB (mohair and DK held together as one) cast on 3 sts
wise onto the RH needle, take working yarn to the back, slip the Row 1 inc) K2, kfb - 4sts
slipped stitch back onto the LH needle, turn the knitting = W+Tk Rows 2 & 4 Purl
(wrap and turn knit) Row 3 inc) K3, kfb - 5sts
Row 5 inc) [K1, kfb] twice, k1 - 7sts

W+Tp take working yarn to the back of the work, slip next st purl- Row 6 Purl. PM (place a stitch marker) on 1st stitch for left muzzle

KITTEN’S RIGHT EYE LID PM at each end for left & right throat markers.
Row 14 P7, turn, cast on 3 sts, cut yarns and leave 10 Right Side
Face Stitches on a large safety pin. Rows 2-5 Work four rows stocking stitch.

Stop the knitting whilst you join the nose seam as follows:
RS (knitside) facing match the cast on edges from kitten’s left and
right muzzle (see Fig. 1) and back stitch to join the small seam (see
vertical dotted line Fig. 2). Turn out so right side facing.
With WS facing, working on one side at a time, match the nose marker
with the muzzle marker (see Fig. 1) and mattress stitch to join from
markers to the nose point/ seam (see diagonal dotted line Fig. 2).
With a single length of pink yarn embroider straight stitches over the
THROAT
MARKER knitted pink triangular nose to enhance the nose shape.
Then embroider a length of grey mohair to define the bottom of the
nose (see Fig. 3).
Remove nose and muzzle markers.

Separate top nose from cheeks as follows:


Row 7 dec) Cast off 4 sts for Left Head Back , PM for left ear outer,

Working on one foreleg at a time, starting with the paw - with RS


together fold foreleg paw in half across the cast-off edge, ease
together and back stitch along the cast-off edge so joining shaped
paw front with straight paw back (see Fig. 16, joining dotted lines).
Turn out to RS.

Foreleg - match the corner of the cast-on edge (see Fig. 17, A) with the
Inner Lower Marker, match row ends, from leg and mattress stitch
from the paw seam to the cast-on edge corner/ inner lower marker.

Remove lower foreleg marker.

Complete the sewing of the side of the body from Belly Marker to
