RE: APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIP.
Following the recent post in your institution about a call for scholarship in
Bachelor of Science in nursing, I am excited and privileged to express my
application to you. I am a Kenyan citizen who lives in Kilifi county and born on 24 th
of September 2003. I completed my secondary education in December 2022 at
Ribe Boys High School.
In my family, I am the third born child in a family of four siblings whereby two of
them are older than me. I have been raised at a bigger part by my single mother
after my father died in 2006 when I was barely three years. This has caused a lot
of challenges in my life especially my academic journey. My elder siblings already
completed their secondary course but yet to get employed. My younger siblings is
still in secondary school in form three continuing on his studies. However, the
financial situation in my family continues to be a big challenge to cater for the
education costs. My single mother who is a casual laborer has to struggle all to
cater for our needs which sometimes fails to offer all. However, I am always
determined and focused on my goals so that I can become the change in future.
I successful completed my secondary education in December 2022 at Ribe Boys”
high school. My academic life has been both an interesting and also very
challenging. Initially, when I was joining form one, my family could not afford my
secondary costs. This pushed me to apply different scholarships. Thankful, at last
Kesho Kenya Organization was the one that came for my help. This eased my life
in school since my school fees were settled well as I was left to cater for my
personal items and transport costs. This helped me to focus on my studies in
school. Moreover, on school, the teachers and my friends were very
supportive .Successfully, I managed to perform well in my final national
examinations.
After I completed my secondary education, I yearned to continue with my higher
education. Unfortunately, the financial situation in my family is unstable hence
not affordable to help me at the higher education.My only mother who has to
cater for my other siblings finds its hard to afford although it is her great desire to
see me continue with my studies. My elder siblings also still are not yet employed
hence still dependant.
Since childhood, it was my great passion to become a great medical practitioner
in future.This has been my big push in my aademics to ensure I achieve my
dream.With the performance I achieved and the great opportunity you have
availed, I have a strong urge that this may be the great chance to achieve my
dreams.My desire in future is to be able to change positively the health
atmosphere of my family, community and the nation at large.
Being awarded the scholarship, I would wholeheartedly work to my level best to
ensure my dreams come true.Therefore, considering my application, would not
only have an impact to me but also to many souls in our nation.
