INT. PRISON ISLAND - NIGHT
The scene opens up in the middle of the ocean. We see a small
island with a military base on it. Computer text reads out
"Prison Island". Tokyo Bay, Japan.
The scene cuts to inside where a G.U.N agent walks up to a
control panel where another agent, Kyle, watches something
through the glass while eating a doughnut.
AGENT
Oh, yes! You got donuts.

KYLE
I already ate all the Boston Cream.
AGENT
Kyle!
Kyle shrugs, as they both look through the glass. On the
other side stands a large fluid-filled stasis tube, pipes and
tubes connecting to it and steam blowing out from the bottom.
Inside, in cryogenic stasis, Shadow the Hedgehog floats in
the center.
AGENT (CONT'D)
This place gives me the creeps.
KYLE
Relax. That Popsicle hasn't moved
in 50 years.
Shadow remains motionless. Memories of his past are replying
in his mind. The strum of a guitar. The blond hair of a girl.
He recalls a memory of G.U.N soldiers chasing him and a girl.
In the statis tube, Shadow scowls and furrows his brow. From
the control room, a monitor picks up a pulse, and shows his
heartbeat.
AGENT
Is that normal?
KYLE
No. Someone's hacking the system!
AGENT
What?
Their computer shows a glitched screen, reading "Access
Denied". Eggman's logo on it grins.
KYLE
The containment tank is
destabilizing. He's waking up.

Kyle slams his hand on an emergency button. Across the

island, searchlights turn on as alarms wail. Numerous
soldiers head down the staircase and point their guns at the
containment tank.
On the monitor, Shadow's heartbeat increases. Shadow
grimaces. The soldiers wince. Then... his heartbeat stops.
Phew. His expression turns calm again. One of the soldiers
sighs in relief.
Suddenly, Shadow scowls and PUNCHES through the glass. Shadow
walks out of the hole in the glass, scowling at the soldiers,
orange chaos energy flowing in his eyes, before he suddenly
vanishes.
BAM, he re-appears behind one of the soldiers, and kicks him
in the face. Shadow then teleports to spin kick another. BAM,
BAM BAM. He's zipping around the room making short work of
the guards.
The remaining guard around fearfully, aiming his gun, and
then hears Shadow's teleport. He turns, only to see Shadow
punch him straight to the observation window, breaking the
glass. Kyle and his agent friend look on in fright,
KYLE (CONT'D)
We need more guys.
AGENT
That is all the guys.
The soldier on the glass finally falls to the ground.

EXT. PRISON ISLAND - NIGHT

Outside, Shadow breaks through the walls of the facility and
walks to a ledge. He looks on to see Tokyo in the distance.
He rockets off, hover skating over the water to the mainland,
a determined look on his face. "Sonic the Hedgehog 3".

EXT. GREEN HILLS - DAY

We're at a sunny campsite in the forest. We see Tails crouch
down into a running start pose, fluffing out his twin tails.
Knuckles pounds his fists to the ground, a determined look on
his face. Finally, Sonic enters, dressed for a swim. He
chumps on a chili dog, heh.
SONIC
Wait a second. I thought we were
going tubing. Hold on, hold on. Is
this a race?

TAILS
You're going down!
KNUCKLES
It is my destiny to claim the
throne of Family Champion,
hedgehog.
SONIC
Cute. Are you sure you wanna
challenge the fastest creature in
the universe? I mean, that's kinda
my whole brand.
Sonic spins off his swim-wear and then goes into a starting
pose. Across from the three, Tom and Maddie stand ready.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Okay, Tom and Maddie, count us
down.
TOM
Right! Don't worry, a little
sibling rivalry is healthy. Me and
my brothers used to do this kind of
thing all the time.
MADDIE
Tom, your brothers are lunatics and
neither of them were born with the
power to trigger a global
cataclysmic event.
TOM
That's a fair point. Did you hear
that, boys? No cataclysmic events,
okay? Let's keep this cataclysmic-
less.
SONIC
Ten-four!
TAILS
Got it!
KNUCKLES
Understood, Lord of the Donuts.
MADDIE
Then on your marks, get set... go!
With that, she waves the green flag, and the three speed
right past them, blowing up a gust of wind in their wake. And
in first is...

SONIC
And way out in front, to the
surprise of absolutely no one, it's
the Blue Blur, the Red-Shoed
Rocket, the one, the only--
As he runs backwards, he looks up and sees Tails passing him.
TAILS
Come on, Sonic! Catch up! Yeah!
SONIC
What in the what, now?
He then hears Knuckles' voice as he spots him on his left,
also ahead of him.
KNUCKLES
I am also defeating you, hedgehog!
SONIC
Seriously? All right, you know
what? Time to light the
afterburners.
Sonic then proceeds to increase in speed, sliding up the side
of a tree trunk, sliding into the air, and also passing
Tails.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Look! It's a bird! it's a plane!
It's Air Hedgehog!
Sonic then poses in midair before curling into a ball and
dunking himself into a basketball hoop made out of tree
branches. He then rolls down the forest, and off a cliff and
over the sides of a mountain.
He then sees a sign with the word "goal" on it slaps it,
making it spin. He then slides and comes to a halt, doing a
victory dance.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Yes! I did it! I...
Knuckles and Tails are standing across from him, tapping
their feet in unison.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Lost?! How is that even possible? I
do not lose!
KNUCKLES
I am also defeating you, hedgehog.

SONIC
Okay, okay, I get it, man. No need
to rub it in.
TAILS
Come on, Sonic! Catch up! Yeah!
Sonic suspiciously leans forward and touches Tails' nose
SONIC
Wait, what's going on?
As Sonic touches Tails' face, his finger enters his face
which squashes and stretches.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Gah! Why are you guys acting like-
Sonic slaps Knuckles' face, making Knuckles cross-eyed.
Knuckles suddenly glitches. Sonic looks up, and sees a pair
of Tails' holographic drones hovering above them.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Holograms! Which means... I remain
the undefeated speed champion of
all time! Yes! And the crowd goes
wild! But also, what's going on?
Sonic then dashes off, sprinting at top speed. and when he
returns to camp, he is shocked. A party has been set up!
Above, a banner reads "Happy B-earth-day!"
EVERYONE
Surprise!
SONIC
But wait a sec, you guys... what is
all this? "Happy Bea Arthur Day"?
MADDIE
Oh, it's "Happy B-Earth-Day."
TOM
Today's the anniversary of the day
you came to Earth, bud. It's your
"Earth Day Birthday."
SONIC
So the race was just a distraction,
which I totally did not fall for,
by the way-- Good try though-- so
you could throw a party for me?

KNUCKLES
Today, we honor you, hedgehog.
TAILS
If it wasn't for you, none of us
would be here right now.
TOM
The boys are right, bud. You know,
the day you came to this planet was
the day all our lives changed
forever.
MADDIE
And we became a family.
OZZY
(barks)
"You stole my hoomans."
SONIC
You guys, I don't... I don't know
what to say. Except... let's party!
TOM
All right!
KNUCKLES
It's now on till the break of dawn!
TAILS
Toga! Toga!
They head into the forest cheering.

EXT. GREEN HILLS - AFTERNOON

Later on, Sonic and Tom are walking together. Tom is holding
a football.
SONIC
Thanks for the surprise party. It
really means a lot to me.
TOM
Ah, well, you deserve it, pal.
Sonic then smiles, before looking ahead. He then gasps.
SONIC
No way, is that...
Sonic then speeds ahead.

TOM
What? Dude... Could you just for
once walk at my speed?

INT. HEDGEHOG CAVE – EVENING

Tom climbs down into a Sonic-sized hole, landing on his feet.
He looks around the cave, astonished.
TOM
Whoa. Sonic! This is your—
SONIC
Yep. My old cave.
TOM
Oh, man. I can't believe this is
where you lived all those years.
Sonic spots his old ping-pong table made from a speed-limit
sign. He picks up old nun-chucks.
SONIC
Hey! My state-of-the-art security
system!
He swings the nun-chucks, hitting himself in the face,
falling over.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Still works.
Tom approaches a vine-covered wall, intrigued.
TOM
Hey, bud. What's this?
He pulls back the vines, revealing a drawing: a young Sonic
with LONGCLAW, sitting together on a loop-the-loop, Longclaw
holding a sunflower.
SONIC
Wow. You know, I drew that on my
first night on Earth. I wanted to
remember where I came from.
Sonic’s face grows sad.
SONIC (CONT'D)
I still miss her.
(sighs)
You think Longclaw would be proud
of me?

TOM
I know she would, pal. Because even
though you lost her at such a young
age, you didn't let your pain
change who you are... in here.
Tom taps Sonic’s chest.
SONIC
Yeah. In my lungs.
TOM
Or your heart.
SONIC
Heart, right. Yeah, makes more
sense. Not lungs, heart.
TOM
That's the thing about life, Sonic,
it's all about the choices we make.
You're gonna make some good ones,
and knowing you, you're gonna make
some bad ones. But... as long as
you remember to listen to your
heart, you'll make the right choice
when it matters most.
SONIC
Thanks. I don't know what I'd do
without you. I'd probably be a
totally different hedgehog.
EXT. TOKYO – NIGHT
Rain pours down. Shadow walks through Tokyo, scowling. A taxi
swerves past him, splashing water on him. Shadow groans,
looks around, confused. He sees a building's jumbotron
showing the year.
SHADOW
2024? I've been trapped for 50
years?
Suddenly, yelling and sirens draw Shadow’s attention. G.U.N.
tank trucks, soldiers with shields, and police cars swarm
him.
G.U.N. SOLDIER
Move, move! Take position! Get on
the ground now! We've got you
surrounded!

SHADOW
Why... won't you leave me...
ALONE?!
G.U.N. SOLDIER 2
Take him down!
Soldiers aim weapons. Shadow scowls, chaos energy crackling
from his eyes.
EXT. CAMPSITE – NIGHT
Meanwhile, Knuckles accidentally burns his marshmallow.
KNUCKLES
I have dishonored my marshmallow.
Tails carefully uses a blowtorch.
TAILS
It's really just a question of
temperature and distance.
MADDIE
It's not a competition.
Tom rests a hand on Maddie's shoulder.
TOM
This is so nice.
MADDIE
Peace.
TOM
Quiet.
MADDIE
Finally.
TOM
Finally!
Ozzy suddenly barks, alerted. A G.U.N. helicopter hovers
overhead, searchlights beaming down.
SONIC
Hey! We're trying to have a family
moment down here!
They approach the helicopter as it lands. G.U.N. agents exit.
MADDIE
What did we do?

TOM
Or what did they do?
TAILS
What did you do?
SONIC
I don't know. I do a lot of stuff.
Director Rockwell, dressed in all black and looking ready to
grumble steps out of the helicopter.
DIRECTOR ROCKWELL
Mr. and Mrs. Wachowski. Aliens.
SONIC
"Aliens"? Excuse me? It’s not like
we’re from different planet—Oh,
yeah, we are. I guess we are
aliens. Please continue.
DIRECTOR ROCKWELL
I'm Director Rockwell. There is a
very dangerous situation unfolding
right now in Tokyo. Commander
Walters is requesting Team Sonic's
immediate assistance.
KNUCKLES
"Team Sonic"? Who picked that name?
SONIC
Love it! Ten out of ten, no notes.
Tom and Maddie, put the s’mores on
ice because Team Sonic is off to
save the day!
Team Sonic boards the helicopter, waving goodbye.
MADDIE
Remember, make good choices!
Tom gives a thumbs-up as the helicopter departs.

EXT. TOKYO – NIGHT

The helicopter emerges from a Ring portal over Tokyo. Tails
pilots the helicopter, looking fly.
TAILS
Good evening and welcome to Tails
Air flight 1012. We're looking at
an on-time arrival into Tokyo!

SONIC
Okay, Captain, we got a rogue alien
on the loose. How do we find him?
An explosion erupts below.
TAILS
Uh, start with the giant fireball?
SONIC
I love it! Let's start with the
giant fireball!
Sonic opens the door; Knuckles is excited.
KNUCKLES
Finally, some action!
TAILS
Okay, time to gear up.
Tails displays glowing handcuffs.
TAILS (CONT'D)
Titanium handcuffs, completely
indestructible!
KNUCKLES
I don't need your silly gizmos,
fox. Because I am...
SONIC & TAILS
...one million percent muscle.
KNUCKLES
Yes, good. You've been listening.
CO-PILOT
We're over the drop zone.
SONIC
Alright, here we go. Showtime!
They look out over the burning Tokyo cityscape, ready to jump
out of the helicopter.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Now, look, we don't know if it's
Godzilla or Hello Kitty down there,
but as long as we stick together,
there is nothing we can't handle.
"Team Sonic" on three. One, two,
three—

SONIC & TAILS (CONT'D)

Team Soni-
KNUCKLES
Knuckles!
Sonic groans as Director Rockwell enters; Team Sonic turns to
her.
SONIC
Talk about low-budget flights. No
food or movies? We're out of here!
With that, Team Sonic leaps out of the chopper in unison, and
they all turn and point their noses to the city below. They
all plummet together as they reach the skyscrapers. Landing
in unison they all look around the destruction around them.
KNUCKLES
What happened here?
SONIC
Looks like G.U.N got their butts
kicked. Keep your eyes open. Tails,
anything?
TAILS
Whoa! These energy readings are off
the charts!
Suddenly, they hear a noise behind them. They turn, only to
see a huge tank truck tossed into the air.
SONIC
Look out!
Knuckles effortlessly grabs the truck. He looks at them,
lifting it with one hand and winking.
KNUCKLES
One... million... percent.
Knuckles then chucks the truck away. They look in the
direction it was thrown, and they see an ominous Shadow
emerging from the smoke.
SONIC
Whoa! Are you guys seeing this?
TAILS
He looks just like you.
KNUCKLES
Impossible!

SHADOW
You're a colorful bunch.
SONIC
Um, excuse me. Why do you look like
me?
SHADOW
I don't look like you. You look
like me! Why do you look like me?
SONIC
Hey, you know what? I'll ask the
questions, new hedgehog! Who are
you?! Why do you look like me?!
SHADOW
This is a waste of time. Walk away,
makes a fist before you get hurt.
SONIC
Whoa, whoa, easy, buddy. pulls out
the handcuffs We don't want to
fight you.
KNUCKLES
Actually, Sonic, I would like to
fight.
Sonic pushes an eager Knuckles away.
SONIC
Not now! Hey! Why don't you just
stop throwing cars at us for a
second and come down here to talk?
SHADOW
You jumped out of a G.U.N
helicopter. There's nothing to talk
about.
KNUCKLES
All right, then. Enough!
Knuckles charges forward.
SONIC
Knuckles, no!
KNUCKLES
Let us talk with our fists!
Everything slows as Shadow swiftly teleports right in front
of a surprised Knuckles. Shadow grabs his hand and twists it.

Shadow then teleports repeatedly, kicking Knuckles around

before finally kicking him to the ground. Knuckles bounces on
the concrete and crashes into a souvenir shop.
SONIC & TAILS
Knuckles!
The two run up to the echidna and help him to his feet.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Knuckles! Knuckles, are you okay?
KNUCKLES
No, not really. Ow!
Shadow glares at the trio.
TAILS
Who is this guy?
KNUCKLES
He is much more impressive than the
hedgehog I fought previously.
SONIC
Dude, I'm standing right here.
Team Sonic put on a battle-ready pose.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Now, come on! He can't take us all
at once.
Shadow kicks Tails out of the air, then smacks Knuckles, and
finally grabs Sonic by the neck. Shadow uses his Air Shoes to
soar up into the air. Shadow teleports above the city,
smashing Sonic forcefully into the concrete below.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Okay, he took us all at once.
SHADOW
Weakling.
Sonic staggers up as Shadow mounts a G.U.N. motorcycle AND
GRABS A GUN.
SHADOW (CONT'D)
Don't try to follow me.
TAILS
Sonic, I know that look. Going
after him is a bad idea.

SONIC
When has that ever stopped me?
With that, Sonic speeds off after Shadow. They race through
the streets, and Sonic eventually catches up to Shadow.
SONIC (CONT'D)
I got to ask, one hedgehog to
another, who does your highlights?
Shadow looks at Sonic, scowling. He takes out his gun and
fires at Sonic, who dodges every blast thanks to his speed.
They swerve around traffic.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Hey! Dangerously weaving through
traffic is my thing!
He curls up and rolls directly at Shadow, only for Shadow to
teleport his whole cycle away. Sonic buzzes through the
traffic, eventually leaping through the driver's seat of a
truck in slow motion.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Coming through!
Suddenly, Shadow teleports above Sonic, aiming to crush him.
Sonic dodges just in time.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Why are you running away? We were
just getting started.
Sonic holds on as he is tossed onto the door window of a
passing bus. He fights back, and Shadow drops the gun.
SHADOW
The more you talk, the harder I
want to hit you.
They're nearing an in-use train crossing.
SONIC
Watch out!
Just as they are about to collide, Shadow teleports them both
from the road into the air.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Ugh, I'm gonna throw up!
Shadow revs the engine, and orange chaos energy courses
through the motorcycle.

SONIC (CONT'D)
Yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
Sonic flails, trying to catch up to Shadow, but Shadow drives
right up the side of Tokyo Tower.
Akira sliding right into the air, Shadow aims himself at
Sonic. Sonic leaps up towards Shadow. LIVE AND-
BOOOOM. The explosion of chaos energy is enough to cause a
blackout. Sonic awakens, finding himself handcuffed to a
pole.
SONIC (CONT'D)
1.21 gigawatts..
(tries to get loose)
Oh, you've got to be kidding me!
Tails arrives, flying Knuckles over. He unlocks the handcuff.
TAILS
Sonic! Are you okay?
SONIC
I'm fine, guys. And before you ask—
I handcuffed myself for tactical
reasons that I do not have time to
explain.
TAILS
You shouldn't have gone off on your
own. We're supposed to be a team.
SONIC
Sorry, buddy. Still working on this
teamwork thing.
KNUCKLES
So now what?
SONIC
Well, I'm not jumping out of any
more helicopters until we get some
answers from G.U.N. We need
somewhere to regroup.
TAILS
I know just the place.

INT. CHAO GARDEN - NIGHT

OMG IT'S THE CHAO GARDEN!! I need to check my chaos, man.

Japanese singers perform softly in the background as two

people in Chao costumes dance on stage. A worker takes a
picture of Team Sonic as three Chao surround them.
CHAO GARDEN WAITRESS
Hai, chizu.
KNUCKLES
It's an ambush! You'll never take
us alive, foul beasts!
TAILS
Calm down, Knuckles. This is a Chao
Garden—one of the top ten must-see
spots in all of Tokyo! It's a
perfect place for us to blend in.
Two girls walk up to Tails; one pokes him.
GIRL
Are you Detective Pikachu?
SONIC
Yes, he is!
KNUCKLES
He does look like a Pokémon!
Tails is less than amused.
KNUCKLES (CONT'D)
"Pika Pika!"
SONIC
Commander Walters!
On cue, the commander arrives at their table, pulling up a
seat and sitting down across from Sonic. He looks troubled.
COMMANDER WALTERS
Sonic. Thank God you're all okay.
I'm sure you have questions.
SONIC
Just a big ticked-off red and black
one. Who was that guy?
COMMANDER WALTERS
Shadow's story began a lot like
yours, Sonic. But where you found
family and friends on this planet,
Shadow found only pain and loss.
FLASHBACK
 18.

A truck driver surveys a large crater with a black and red

meteor at its center.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.)
It begins over 50 years ago, with a
meteor crash in a quiet corner of
Oklahoma.
Scientists lower the meteor into a large stasis tube filled
with green liquid.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
The meteorite contained a life-
form.
Chunks of meteor dissolve and float to the surface. Shadow
glares.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
The ultimate life-form.
The scene changes to a large room where Shadow swiftly runs
around, his orange Chaos Energy on full display. Monitoring
scientists watch in awe.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
Shadow's power—his "chaos energy"—
went far beyond any living
creature.
Shadow hover skates over the walls while scientists'
computers print out charts.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
The scientist who discovered him
believed this power would usher in
a new era for humanity.
A scientist peers into a large storage tube containing
Shadow's generated Chaos Energy.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
But Shadow's power proved too
dangerous.
Outside an unfamiliar lab, a massive explosion erupts as a
cloud of debris.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
A terrible accident destroyed the
lab, taking human lives with it.
The project leader was blamed for
the incident and imprisoned.
 19.

Two G.U.N. agents haul a white-coated scientist away. Behind

his back, he clutches a red quill. A soldier with an electric
prod forces Shadow into his stasis tube.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
With the program cancelled...
Shadow was a loose end no one knew
how to deal with.
Shadow pounds on the glass as his tube lowers, agents
pointing guns at him.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
Too dangerous to be walking free,
too valuable to destroy.
A young Walters watches as the tube lowers. Shadow looks at
him before being fully submerged, scowling vengefully.
COMMANDER WALTERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
So, I had him placed into stasis...
indefinitely.

INT. CHAO GARDEN - NIGHT

The scene changes back to the present, showing Walter's now
aged face. He still looks regretful.
SONIC
Wait a second. If Shadow's been on
ice for 50 years, someone had to
help him escape.
COMMANDER WALTERS
True. But there's only a few people
in the world who even know of
Shadow's existence.
Suddenly, the lights flicker off. The moment is tense...
Until three Chao performers start dancing on stage.
TAILS
A live show? Yeah!
Tails claps along to the beat. Sonic notices a red dot aimed
at his forehead.
SONIC
Get down!
Outside, a legion of Badniks fire their missiles. Team Sonic
ducks just as the missiles hit the table.

The explosion starts a fire; civilians stampede toward the

exit. Sonic comes to, and sees badniks have them surrounded.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Egg drones?
TAILS
But Robotnik is supposed to be
dead!
BOOOM! A masked motorcyclist crashes through the window and
drives right up to the stage.
SONIC
Konnichi-what?
POWPOWPOW. The cyclist zooms in a circle, hitting each badnik
with a magnet. He clenches his fist, and the badniks all
electrocute at once, falling to the floor. Sonic steps
forward.
SONIC (CONT'D)
I'm sorry, we already had our big
motorcycle chase for the evening.
The cyclist drives off a makeshift ramp, crashes through the
window, and speeds off into the city. Team Sonic turn to
Walters, who is struggling amongst debris.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Commander Walters!
Knuckles helps him rest his body.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Commander Walters, are you okay?
COMMANDER WALTERS
Sonic... take this.

Walters reaches into his vest, pulls out a small ID card.

SONIC
What is it?
COMMANDER WALTERS
A key... to the most powerful
weapon G.U.N. has ever built.
You're the only one I trust to keep
it safe.
With a final sigh, Commander Walters is dead.

SONIC
Commander Walters...
Sirens blare outside. G.U.N. tankers park, with numerous
agents emerging, loaded guns in hand. They all enter, aiming
their guns around.
G.U.N. SOLDIERS
Alpha team, fan out! Do we have
eyes? Secure the perimeter!
Rockwell enters the scene. She approaches Walters' body and
feels his vest. Nothing.
G.U.N. SOLDIER
Medevac is en route.
DIRECTOR ROCKWELL
His launch key is missing.
Rockwell looks to her left and finds the photographers
picture of Team Sonic. She crumples it
DIRECTOR ROCKWELL (CONT'D)
I knew they couldn't be trusted!

EXT. TOKYO – NIGHT

Meanwhile, Team Sonic have escaped, disguised with Chao
mascot heads. Knuckles can't get his off.
TAILS
Why are we running from G.U.N.?
Aren't we on the same team?
SONIC
Until we get more information,
we're not trusting anyone.

hedgehogs running around. The

He pushes a remote. A giant crab-like Badnik surfaces out of
the water. It opens up a hatch.
STONE (CONT'D)
Please, join me in the crab.

A corny telenovella is playing out on screen.

The scene cuts to inside the crab. It's TRASHED with garbage.
GABRIELLA

JUAN

He's baaaaack. A newly obese Robotnik is seen watching the
show amid empty food wrappers and packaging scattered on the
floor. He uses a drone to microwave a burrito before covering
it in three condiments.
ROBOTNIK
Let that be a lesson to you, Juan.
Family is a field of emotional
claymores that leave you abandoned,
betrayed, and weeping while you eat
cake, which creates copious amounts
of adipose tissue, and what some
calloused individuals refer to
as... man boobs.
He takes a bite of the burrito before throwing it away. He
switches the channel to play up-tempo Latin jazz. He lifts
his shirt and pats his belly like a drum before turning-
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
GAAAAAAAH!
Stone and Team Sonic stand nearby, watching in disgust.
STONE
Doctor, we have visitors.
ROBOTNIK
Really? I thought I was having an
anthropomorphic nightmare, where
the only person I can trust in the
world showed up with all my worst
enemies, while I was in a bathrobe,
playing congas on my big, fat
belly!
STONE
Sorry, sir.

I don't believe it. Eggman's alive?
TAILS
And he’s never looked... worse.
ROBOTNIK
Well, maybe, this is what not
giving a damn what you think I look
like looks like.
STONE
Sir, right now we have an even
bigger problem.
ROBOTNIK
(reluctant)
Oh, come on.
STONE
There's an imposter out there using
your technology.
He inserts a disc into the drive.
ROBOTNIK
Imposter? That's impossi- WHAT?

On the screen, egg drones point lasers at Team Sonic.

Robotnik gasps and hastily rushes over to a computer to type.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
No! My sweet, mechanized spawn!
Whomever this party-pooping posse
is looking for has stolen my
persona and the precious babies
from my egg sac. Well... I'll soon
egg-xact my revenge. You see what I
did there? It's time for the
dramatic soap-opera twist where
this Pablo reveals his Juan! By
cross-referencing the precise
coordinates of each drone's energy
spikes, I can track my babies to
the imposter's base of operations,
right about... there!
Robotnik points to a location on a digital map.
TAILS
Sonic, I hate to say it, but I
think we're both after the same
person.

Hold on, hold on. You're not
suggesting we team up with Doctor
Ro-Butt-Stink, are you?
KNUCKLES
Perhaps the fox is right. It could
be our only chance to find this
mysterious, more impressive
hedgehog.
SONIC
All right, Egghead. I hate to say
it, but it looks like we're
partners.
ROBOTNIK
On one condition.
SONIC
Dude, you have serious issues. Ow!
Sonic yanks out one of his quills, handing it to Robotnik. He
does the zappy thing.
ROBOTNIK
Let's... DO THIS!
Stone gives Robotnik a haircut, returning him to his
gloriously bald self. Later on, he's inside of a change room.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
UUUUGH! Suck it in!
(leans out)
Tinker-tailor? I need room. Think
Elvis, circa 1976.
STONE
But sir, I don't have the proper
materials.
Robotnik rips Stone's shirt.
ROBOTNIK
Found some.
STONE
Resourceful.

INT. G.U.N. MILITARY BASE - DAY

The camera zooms in on the abandoned G.U.N. base that
Commander Walters spoke about.

Inside, Shadow walks through the base, strewn with debris and
dirt. He notices a roller skate covered in dirt, picks it up,
and studies.

FLASHBACK
We focus on a pair of teal roller skates, then pans upward to
reveal the Maria Robotnik, holding a box of belongings. She
glides through the base on her skates. Reaching a hallway,
she turns to proceed, but is stopped by a G.U.N. agent.
G.U.N. AGENT
Hey! This is a restricted area.
CAPTAIN WALTERS
Oh, it's okay. She's the
professor's granddaughter. He takes
her everywhere. Welcome to the lab,
Maria. I'm Captain Walters.
MARIA
Oh, do you know where my room is?
CAPTAIN WALTERS
Yeah, down the hall and to the
right. Make yourself at home. But,
um, let's lose the skates, okay,
kiddo?
MARIA
Okay.
She skates down the hall toward her room.
Maria walks past a room, drawn by the scene inside. She
enters slowly and finds Shadow contained in his tube, his
back turned. She stares for a moment before raising her hand
to touch the tube. Shadow glares warily, prompting her to
step back with a nervous smile.
Then, Maria gets an idea. She opens her bag, takes out a
marker, and begins drawing on the tube. Her drawing
transforms Shadow’s fierce look into a cartoony rabbit face..
Maria giggles. Playfully. Shadow meets her hand on the glass,
both of them smiling warmly.
A montage begins as "End of the Line" by the Traveling
Wilburys plays. In her room, Maria plays a music record and
dances around as Shadow looks on, puzzled.
Shadow sits on a table in a laboratory, hooked up to a
machine while scientists run tests.

The lab door opens, and Maria enters, crouching by the table
mischievously. The scientists gasp as Shadow is swapped out
ofr a teddy bear.
In a hallway, Shadow crouches in a "race start" position with
a rope tied around his waist. Maria is tied to the other end
on her skates. He skates off, taking Maria with him. She
whoops excitedly as they round a corner.
In her bedroom, Maria takes Shadow's hands and begins dancing
in a circle, swinging her arms and leading him. He doesn't
quite get it yet.
Back to skating, Maria and Shadow continue around the base at
top speed.
In her room, Maria teaches Shadow "the wave," pushing his arm
down while his free arm goes up.
Still skating, Maria sees people carrying trays of food at
the end of the hallway.
MARIA (CONT'D)
Look out!
Shadow cannot stop in time and they crash into the people,
sending food flying everywhere. They end up on the floor,
covered in food. They happily make "food angels" on the
floor.
That night, Maria and Shadow watch a movie while sharing
popcorn. Maria tosses a piece at him playfully; she shrugs
and gestures, "Who, me?" The movie shows the Biolizard
swatting helicopters and roaring, with large text declaring,
"Beware the Alien Freak!" Shadow glances sadly at the floor,
and Maria, noticing his distress, looks away in thought.
A man is shown sleeping in the lab, and Maria takes his
keycard, swiping it on a reader. She and Shadow board a
platform that ascends toward a cliff above the base entrance.
Shadow and Maria lie on their backs, surrounded by white
flowers. They gaze up at the night sky.
MARIA (CONT'D)
Wow. Look at all those stars.
They're like diamonds.
(happy sigh)
My grandfather says it can take
hundreds of years for the light of
a star to reach Earth, and by the
time you see it, the star might not
even exist anymore. Isn't that
crazy?

SHADOW
A light shines even though the star
is gone.
MARIA
Yeah, it does. I wonder which one
you came from, Shadow.
SHADOW
I don't know. I don't know anything
about my home.
MARIA
This is your home, Shadow. Earth.

INT. G.U.N. MILITARY BASE - DAY

The flashback abruptly ends, and the record player in Maria's
room grinds to a halt as Shadow removes the needle. Maria's
bedroom looks destroyed.
Shadow walks through the base, entering the room where he
once remained his stasis tube. Only now, the glass is broken.
He presses a hand against the jagged glass.
Someone moves. Shadow turns, letting out a gasp as he sees...
SHADOW
Professor?
Cloaked in shadow is Gerald Robotnik.
GERALD
It's good to see you, Shadow. I
knew you'd come home.
SHADOW
I can't get her out of my head. The
pain... it's too much.
GERALD
And that is why we have to punish
them.

EXT. G.U.N. MILITARY BASE - DAY

Meanwhile, a ring portal opens. Team Sonic and Team Eggman
exit, immediately squabbling like newlyweds.

SONIC
Okay, I don't like you and you
don't like me. Let's get this over
with quickly.
ROBOTNIK
Out of my way, dorkupine.
SONIC
"Dorkupine"? Really clever.
Robotnik gets close to a metal door of the base and begins
tapping it.
ROBOTNIK
This door is six-inch-thick solid
steel on a pressurized latch. I'll
need a moment to calculate the
molecular density and invert the
venting mechanics.
BOOM. Knuckles punches it open.
KNUCKLES
I unlocked it.
ROBOTNIK
Subtle as always, fist-for-brains.

INT. G.U.N. MILITARY BASE - DAY

Shadow hears the heroes coming and charges up his chaos
energy when...
GERALD
Easy, Shadow. Those are the guests
I've been expecting. Let's give
them a warm welcome.
Team Sonic, Robotnik, and Stone walk into the base.
STONE
Whoa, what is this place?
SONIC
It looks like a military base, but
nobody's been here for years. I
wonder if it's haunted.
KNUCKLES
Haunted?! Nobody said anything
about being haunted.

What's the matter? You afraid of g-
g-g-ghosts?
KNUCKLES
Nothing scares an echidna warrior.
SONIC
Uh, yeah. Do you remember what
happened last movie night?

FLASHBACK

AT WENDY! KNUCKLES CLENCHES HIS FRIENDS' HANDS!

KNUCKLES
There's no such thing as a friendly
ghost.
The group stops at a crossroads.
SONIC
So, which way do we go?
ROBOTNIK
I know! We should split up.
Everyone with hideous, brightly
colored fur take the left and the
middle. Stone and I will go right.
SONIC
No, no, no, no, no. I'm not letting
you out of my sight. Tails, you and
Stone go left. Knuckles, you take
the middle. Eggman, you and me go
right.
ROBOTNIK
By all means. We could use some
time together... to work on your
trust issues.

You know what? You're right. I
should be more trusting. I mean,
you've only tried to kill me twice!
We see Knuckles explore the middle path alone with only a
flashlight.
KNUCKLES
Just a dark, creepy hallway...
Nothing to be afraid of. You hear
that, ghost?! You don't frighten
me!
Just then, steam emits from a pipe behind Knuckles. He
flinches.
KNUCKLES (CONT'D)
Get. A. Grip!
He turns around... only to face Shadow.
SHADOW
Boo.
KNUCKLES
GAAAAAH!
Tails and Stone explore the left path.
STONE
Look, I'm just gonna come right out
and say it: you're adorable.
TAILS
Um, thanks.
STONE
So, what's it like being Sonic's
assistant? Have a daily routine?
Paid time off? Benefits?
TAILS
Oh, I'm not Sonic's assistant.
We're teammates. He's the leader,
Knuckles is the muscle, and I'm the
gadget guy. We all have a role to
play. That's what makes the team so
special. That, and the fact we're
best friends.
STONE
You are?

Well, yeah, just like you and
Eggman, right?
STONE
Oh, ye—of course. Yes. Me and the
Doctor. Best of friends. That's
definitely what we are.
They hear something moving. They shine their flashlights to
find a rat scurrying around. However, Shadow slowly hovers
down ominously behind them. They slooowly turn...
TAILS AND STONE (CONT'D)
GAAAAAAAAH!
Sonic and Robotnik enter Maria's old room.
SONIC
Whoa. Look at all this stuff. This
was more than just a military base
or a lab. It was a home. People
lived here. He had a family.
ROBOTNIK
Is that what I smell? The stench of
domestic harmony?
SONIC
You ever wonder what your life
would have been like if you had a
family?
ROBOTNIK
Hmm... No.
SONIC
Maybe you wouldn't have gone full
supervillain.
ROBOTNIK
I have no parents. No aunts, no
uncles. And something about my
attitude renders me...
Robotnik glares at a mirror. It distorts him like a funhouse.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
Undesirable to all possible
genders. My future is a cul-de-sac.
The Robotnik name ends... Avec moi.

Robotnik licks the quill, distracted from Sonic walking into

the room with Shadow's former stasis pod. He walks up to the
glass.
SONIC
Whoa. This is where you grew up,
Shadow? No wonder you're so mad.
This place could really use a bean
bag chair and some comic books.
What happened here?
Suddenly, Shadow appears behind him and shoves him against
the broken glass tank.
SHADOW
I'm tired of giving you warnings!
He throws Sonic aside and powers up his fist, zooming in to
punch him as Sonic yelps in panic.
Back with Ivo, the doctor looks around for Sonic.
ROBOTNIK
Where did you go, hedgehog? I
wasn't finished trauma-dumping.
He spots his egg drones lying in a neat pile.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
My darlings! My eggie-weggies!
Suddenly, a door opens... And we hear... singing?
GERALD
Memories, like the corners of my
mind. Misty watercolor memories of
the way we weren't!
Gerald steps out from the shadows. He looks... basically like
an older Eggman.
ROBOTNIK
I... don't believe it.
GERALD
Don't you?
ROBOTNIK
It's impossible.
GERALD
Is it?

GERALD

ROBOTNIK

Imposter! You stole my babies! They

He activates his drones and aims them at Gerald.

Magnificent creations, my boy. I
borrowed them to lure you here and
reunite our family. You see, Ivo...
I'm your grandfather, Gerald
Robotnik.
ROBOTNIK
My... grandfather? But how? And
why? And who did what with whom?
GERALD
You hail from an ancestry of
excellence. Tied directly à moi.

Ivo comes closer to Gerald, studying him suspiciously.
ROBOTNIK
You do look like me, but fatter,
and older, and there's that funny
smell. But the resemblance... is
uncanny. It's as if...

but intended to be played by the
same actor in the movie the actors
are reading!
Robotnik pulls away.

the last 50 years. Made it kind of
hard to send Christmas cards. Now,
you're probably wondering why I

ROBOTNIK

down.
GERALD
Per the plan I've concocted with my
unparalleled intellect. You'll see.

Come on, kiddo.
Eggman is smitten. The egg drones' eyes turn into hearts.
Meanwhile, Team Sonic are tied to a pole between Shadow and a
tied-up Stone. Sonic slowly wakes up, moaning. He sees the
two Robotniks walking in unison
SONIC
Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no. Someone
tell me this is some kind of
concussion-induced nightmare.
There's TWO Eggmen now!?
ROBOTNIK
Double your villains, double your
fun!

Two Robotniks are way worse than
one.
ROBOTNIK
Chest bump?
(Gerald ghosts him)
No.
(notices stone)
Stone, why are you tied up? Do that
on your own time. You sicken me.
SHADOW
You must be the long-lost grandson.
ROBOTNIK
And you must be another stinkin'
hedgehog!
SONIC
So, you're the one behind all this.
The Shadow breakout.
TAILS
The attack on Walters!
KNUCKLES
That musty old man smell?
GERALD
How dare you insult me with your
unsolicited exposition! Shadow, get
the key.
SHADOW
Where is it?
SONIC
Ha! Good one, Hot Topic. Do you
really think we're that stupid to
bring the key right to you?
Shadow digs through Tails' backpack and pulls out Walters'
keycard.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Yep. We're that stupid.
SHADOW
G.U.N. took everything from us, and
now we're going to take everything
from them.

With this... My masterpiece of
malevolence: The Eclipse Cannon.
He holds up a hologram of a massive weapon. We cut to...

FLASHBACK
Gerald shakes hands with a guard outside his jail cell. We
see the walls of his cell are covered in schematics and
drawings of the Eclipse Cannon.
GERALD (V.O.)
In exchange for my freedom, I gave
G.U.N. the most powerful weapon
mankind has ever seen.
The drawings of the weapon dissolves into the real weapon in
space.
GERALD (V.O.) (CONT'D)
Capable of delivering a precision
strike anywhere on Earth. Our first
target: G.U.N. Headquarters!

INT. G.U.N. MILITARY BASE - DAY

Team Sonic are horrified.
SONIC
But firing a weapon that powerful
could threaten millions of innocent
lives!
GERALD
Yeah, tera-bite me! This is one of
two keys, required to launch the
Eclipse Cannon. The other is locked
inside G.U.N. Headquarters. Once we
have both, I will take rightful
control of my weapon.
ROBOTNIK
I'm in.
Ivo's crab ship flies inside the opening above the area.
Stone, now united with the Robotniks, begins to board.
GERALD
Holy crab!

STONE
Spacious and crustaceous.
Ivo grins at Sonic.
ROBOTNIK
Thank you so much for inspiring
this little adventure. It really
worked out for me.
SONIC
And you wonder why I have trust
issues!
Before they can take off, Shadow appears above the Team.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Shadow, wait! Don't do this. I know
you're hurting but don't let that
change who you are inside.
SHADOW
I've spent 50 years reliving what
they did to her. This... is who I
am inside.
Shadow holds up a small marble-like weapon and drops it. He
teleports into the crab as it takes off.
SONIC
Uh... nice magic marble. Real
scary.
ZOOOM. A black hole bursts out of the device, pulling Team
Sonic towards it.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Ahh! That actually is real scary!
TAILS
It's a mini-black hole! It's going
to suck all the matter in this
base!
Knuckles spots a rope nearby.
KNUCKLES
Fear not, friends! Even my teeth
are muscles!
He grabs the rope with his teeth, keeping them steady.

TAILS
Sonic, try to reach one of my
rings!
Sonic nabs one.
SONIC
Got one! Check this out. Trick
shot!
He flicks the ring upward; it ricochets off debris.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Come on! Come on! Come on!
SONIC & TAILS (CONT'D)
Come on!
Knuckles loses his grip, and they fall toward the black hole,
screaming. JUST in time, the ring opens up in front of the
black hole.
Team Sonic flings out of the ring portal and lands far
outside the base. They cheer, only to see the base destroyed,
leaving behind a giant crater.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Yikes. Somebody better call Google
Maps.

INT. MECHA CRAB - DAY

The Robotniks watch the base being destroyed on a screen.
ROBOTNIK
I've spent years trying to cleanse
the cosmos of that spiny blue speed
freak, and you did it... in one
afternoon.
GERALD
There's nothing we can't destroy
together, my boy.
STONE
Charting route to G.U.N.
Headquarters in one minute, sirs.
ETA: 4 hours, as the crab flies.
GERALD
By all accounts, we're ahead of
schedule.
(MORE)

GERALD (CONT'D)
We should take this time... to get
to know each other better.
ROBOTNIK
You mean... spend some qu-qu-
quality time?
GERALD
You've waited for this your whole
life. How would you choose to spend
one perfect day with your new
grand-pal?
Ivo and Gerald grin at each other. Stone tries to lean in.
Ivo pushes him away.

MONTAGE

"Wouldn't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys plays out. A montage

showcases Ivo and Gerald getting along; the Robotniks ride a
roller coaster in Eggmanland, Gerald teaches Ivo how to ride
a bike (but Ivo falls off), Gerald uses a flamethrower to
light the candles on Ivo's birthday, the Robotniks go trick-
or-treating on Halloween.
Now Christmastime, Ivo sees Santa-Gerald delivering gifts
under a tree. Gerald shushes him before Ivo jumpsat his
grandfather and wrecking the tree.
The final shot ends on the Robotniks watching fireworks at a
park. Stone appears behind with two lattes, and he notices
the Robotniks getting along without him. Saddened and hurt,
Stone turns away and dumps the lattes in the trash.

INT. MECHA CRAB - DAY

Stone takes off a PSVR headset to reveal the events are
actually a virtual reality. The Robotniks are in virtual
heaven together. Stone walks off, heartbroken.

INT. WACHOWSKI HOUSE - DAY

Meanwhile, Tom and Maddie have been killing time through
various hobbies—baking, knitting, painting. We see Tom
finishing a model of the Taj Mahal.
TOM
And done. Masterpiece. Look at
that.

MADDIE
Yay. It's really been great having
time to ourselves.
TOM
Right. Absolutely. I just feel so
relaxed, you know. Clear-headed.
MADDIE
Mm-hmm. Look at all these new
interests we found.
TOM
I know. So many hobbies.
MADDIE

The whole house is covered in hobbies. Sooo many.
Suddenly, the place shakes and the Taj Mahal model collapses.
A ring portal opens in front of them and Team Sonic emerges,
still tied to a pole. Sonic is not facing them.
SONIC
Tom, Maddie, we need your help on a
super... Knuckles, do you mind?
KNUCKLES
Oh, excuse me.
KNUCKLES turns so that Sonic faces Tom and Maddie.
SONIC
Tom, Maddie, we need your help on a
super dangerous top-secret mission!
A long pause before...
TOM
Thank God.
MADDIE
Let's go.
TOM
Yeah. We're in.
SONIC
Great. But first thing's first:
what is that?
Sonic points at a horrific knitted puppet that looks like
Tom. Tom picks him up.

great?
MADDIE
I told you to get rid of that. It's
very creepy.
TOM
(using puppet)
I told him to get rid of you.

Maddie shakes her head, clearly exasperated.
MADDIE
You are in so much trouble.
The team gathers around a table. Tails displays a holographic
plan of infiltrating G.U.N. Headquarters.
TAILS
Okay. This is it. The belly of the
beast: G.U.N. Headquarters in
London.
MADDIE
Aw, Tom. We're finally gonna get to
see London together.
TOM
Hey, I told you we'd get there
someday, baby.
SONIC
Alright, so here's the plan.

The montage shifts to show a vault.

I've been waiting all day!
The scene moves to Tails on his laptop atop the Walkie Talkie
building at 20 Fenchurch Street.

Sonic, we literally just started.
Tom, Maddie, are you in position
and ready?
Then cut to Tom and Maddie at London Bridge, wearing G.U.N.
agent disguises.
TOM
We're born ready.

Yeah.
MADDIE slaps Tom playfully in the gut. Maddie turns to the
door.
MADDIE
Director Rockwell, seeking access
to the server room.
G.U.N. WORKER V.O
Just one moment, ma'am.
TOM
Oh no. No, no, no, it's her. It's
the real her!
They see the real Rockwell walking with her troops.
ROCKWELL
What of the situation in Colorado?
SOLDIER
We are still assessing.
ROCKWELL

Maddie removes her disguise. Tom fiddles with his device; it

glitches, giving him exaggerated features before Maddie slaps
him to reset the disguise.

Aye, aye, captain.
Rockwell gives them both a suspicious look. Once she leaves,
Tom deactivates his disguise.
MADDIE
"Aye, aye, captain?" Who are you,

I panicked! I was panicking!
MADDIE
Geez! Get it together!
The door opens and they enter the server room.
TOM
Okay, Tails, what are we looking
for?
TAILS
The security server is in the 7th
row, 23rd cabinet.

Sonic groans, laying on the London Eye.
SONIC
Are you guys finished yet? This is
taking forever.
He slams his fist on the glass, drawing attention from
inside.
SONIC (CONT'D)

KNUCKLES
Has the time come to break the
glass? Or at least break something.

Two G.U.N. soldiers pass by a series of portraits of the past
generals. One portrait reveals Ivo, his suit active as he
steps out of camouflage.
ROBOTNIK
The Robotniks have entered the
chat. Wait. Poppyseed? Grand
geezer? ¿Dónde está?
Behind him, Gerald, also in camouflage, appears over another
portrait of a G.U.N. general.
GERALD
I'm right here!
Ivo turns to spot Gerald before his suit deactivates.
GERALD (CONT'D)
If you weren't family, I could've
gut you like a pheasant. I mean...
try to keep up.
Gerald walks off; Ivo gazes sadly.

hologram of the city.

an outside signal!

INT. MECHA CRAB - DAY

Tails pops up on the crab's screen, cutting off the latinas.

Cheerio! I guess someone's forgot
to flush!
Tails presses a button and the feed cuts off. The crab begins
to shake. We hear rushing water. Shadow braces in a fighting
stance. Stone turns around in horror as objects fall off the
table.
STONE

A massive flood pushes the crab through the sewers, drenching
it to places unknown.

INT. G.U.N. HEADQUARTERS - DAY

The Robotniks enter the laser room. The vault is behind a
maze of lasers.
GERALD
What now, my cunning cohort?
ROBOTNIK
Just a little team... WORK!
Robotnik shoves Gerald forward. Gerald freaks as lasers
bounce off his suit before he falls to the ground, rolling
around. The beams are bouncing off of his suit.
GERALD
Hey... the lasers. They don't seem
to be penetrating my suit. They're
conforming to the shape of my
bodacious bod.
ROBOTNIK
Of course. I designed these suits
to create a field of laser-bending
distortion. Wasn't sure it would
work 'til now.
GERALD
You're heartless, son.
ROBOTNIK
Mm-hmm.
GERALD
Rotten to the core.
ROBOTNIK

ROBOTNIK

The Robotniks are almost to the

The scene shifts to London Eye, where Sonic readies his
running stance.

TAILS
No, Sonic! I haven't disabled the
traps yet!
SONIC

Sonic speeds around the London Eye and zooms off.
SONIC (CONT'D)

He speeds past Royal Guardsmen, handing one his stolen goods.
SONIC (CONT'D)

A forcefield is starting to form around the G.U.N.
Headquarters.

Sonic slides into London Bridge, launching himself at the
force field.
KNUCKLES

SONIC

Just as the shield nearly closes on him, Tails flies in,
spinning Sonic around, and throws him through a hole.
SONIC (CONT'D)

INT. G.U.N. MILITARY BASE - DAY

Sonic dashes past G.U.N. workers, shouting.
SONIC
Excuse me. Coming through. No time
for autographs. Gotta go. Bye!
Their 15 minute dance finally over, the Robotniks enter the
vault and discover the second key unguarded.
ROBOTNIK
Our destiny awaits.
Sonic arrives at the vault, confronting them.
SONIC
Stop right there, Robo-scum!
ROBOTNIK
Let's do this!
GERALD
Copy!
They rush into the vault, but part of the floor turns red,
magnetizing them to it.
SONIC
Too slow, Eggmen. Now, if you don’t
mind, I gotta get that key...
Part of the floor turns green, making Sonic float upward.
SONIC (CONT'D)
My feet! Why can't I use my
beautiful feet?!
Ivo laughs. Suddenly, Rockwell enters the chamber, holding a
tablet that activates the gravity.
ROCKWELL
Because... this vault is armed with
variable gravity.
GERALD
No kidding.
ROCKWELL
Green goes up and red takes you
down, hard.

Rockwell, listen to me. The
Robotniks are planning...
Rockwell spins Sonic in the air.
ROCKWELL
They're planning on stealing the

into the vault.

ROBOTNIK
That's my grandfather, you dough-
eating dimbecile.
GERALD
Who are they?
ROBOTNIK
A couple of bleeding hearts, here
to rescue their emotional-support
animals.
ROCKWELL
Enough! It's over. The only way
you're leaving here is in
handcuffs. There's no other way
out.
SONIC
You know, there might be one other

ROCKWELL
And what is that supposed to mean?

I think it's time to...
Knuckles jumps off Big Ben and charges toward G.U.N.
Headquarters with his trademark battle cry.
KNUCKLES
BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY!!!
Knuckles bursts through the energy shield and storms into the
building, knocking Rockwell aside.
KNUCKLES (CONT'D)
Ha! Nothing can stop Team Knuckles.
ROCKWELL
Open fire!
SONIC
Knuckles, turn this stuff off.
Hurry!
KNUCKLES
On it.
Knuckles punches and smashes the tablet, causing it to
malfunction.
KNUCKLES (CONT'D)
Uh, oh.
Knuckles and several G.U.N. agents are sent flying.
SONIC
Ha! See how you like...
Sonic is slammed against the floor as his panel turns red.
Tom, Maddie, and Tails watch the chaos unfold until they find
themselves stuck to red panels.
TOM
Can you move?
MADDIE
No. Not at all. Tails, can you?
TAILS
No. I'm stuck.
TOM
We might be here for a while.

Knuckles punches out one of the G.U.N. soldiers while

Rockwell searches for the key.
ROCKWELL
Where's the key?
She spots it floating in midair and dashes toward it. A metal
bar falls near Maddie from debris.
MADDIE
Whoa!
TOM
What was that?
MADDIE
We might have a problem.
Sonic notices debris crumbling above his friends.
SONIC
No, no, no, no, no!
Rockwell pushes through soldiers toward the keycard. The
floor panels turn red and they all fall. Rockwell sees the
key, but notices Ivo also reaching for it; both inch forward
in a frantic race.
ROBOTNIK
I'm moving. I'm moving!
GERALD
You go get it, grandson!
(teeth pop out)
Hey!
More debris cascades as Rockwell and Ivo edge closer.
ROBOTNIK
I'm almost there!
The debris is lowering to Maddie and Tom.
MADDIE
WHOA!
TOM
SONIIIIIC!
Sonic spins into a ball and zoom gasses towards the debris,
knocking it away. Just as Ivo is about to grab the key,
Rockwell takes it.

That was so not worth it!
Gerald resets his dentures as the others get up.
TOM

MADDIE

TOM
Sonic!
They rush over to Sonic.
TOM (CONT'D)

SONIC

MADDIE
Thanks for the save.
TOM
Cutting it a little close, don't

ROCKWELL
Secure the room!
She departs with the keycard in hand.
MADDIE
She's got the key.
TOM
I got an idea.
As Rockwell turns a corner, she gasps. Standing in front of
her is... Commander Walters?
ROCKWELL
Commander Walters? Sir. You are...
COMMANDER WALTERS
Still alive? I will die before I
let the key fall into the wrong
hands. Thanks for keeping it safe.
I'll take it from here.
Rockwell hesitates for a moment.

That's an order, Director Rockwell.
Rockwell hands "Walters" the keycard.
COMMANDER WALTERS (CONT'D)
Now, organize the reinforcements.
ROCKWELL

Walters departs before tapping his cheek, turning his face
back into Tom.
TOM
Guys, guys, I got the key. I
repeat, I got the key. Now let's
get out of here.
Tom shifts back into "Walters" Before he can react further,
Shadow bursts into the building and spots him.
SHADOW
Commander Walters.
TOM
No, no, no! Wait!
Shadow charges in and punches "Walters" away, knocking him
out. As Shadow grabs the keycard, the disguise deactivates to
reveal he's actually Tom.
SHADOW
What...?
SONIC
Tom, everyone's clear. Come on,
let's go. You! What are you...?
Sonic rushes over to the downed Tom.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Tom! Tom, what happened? Speak to
me, come on! Come on, come on, it's
gonna be okay. Please, please,
please get up! Hey, come on! Please
wake up! Wake up, wake up, wake up!
Shadow is struck by this. He recalls Maria's death as Sonic
panics over Tom's body. He remembers clutching her body...
SHADOW

Shadow glares. He's over it.
SHADOW

Shadow teleports away, and Maddie arrives in the hallway.
MADDIE

Back with the Robotniks, Gerald struggles to get up.

Help me up, kid.
Robotnik helps his grandfather from the floor, but G.U.N.
soldiers surround them.

Freeze! Don't move!
ROBOTNIK
Any tricks up your sleeve, Captain
Gran-tastic?
Suddenly, Shadow teleports around, taking out the soldiers.
Ivo yelps and hides behind Gerald before reappearing.
SHADOW
We got what we came for.
GERALD
Great job, Shadow.
ROBOTNIK
We have both keys. So, where's your
little science project?
GERALD
It's closer than you think, my boy.

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - DAY

SHADOW teleports them into the bridge of the Eclipse Cannon.
It looks decently game accurate. Like, look at the details.
Looks great man.

must hand it to G.U.N. They built
her to my exact specifications.

the Mecha Crab sinks into the river.

The Robotniks don their new suits.

jealous of my long-lost grand-pop
tart since the very beginning. I no
longer require your obsequious
groveling. Consider this your
notice of termination. Your letter
of reference will be "L" for loser.
Of course, I'll expect you to stay
on until you've been successfully
cloned, but you and I... are done!
Like a blackened catfish dinner!

EXT. LONDON - DAY

STONE
Sir, it's too dangerous and I'm not
there to protect you. I already
lost you once! I...
Stone looks down, distraught. Poor twinky poo. :(
ROBOTNIK
Unsubscribed, blocked and reported.
Ivo hangs up. Stone looks ready to cry.

Gerald holds up the two keycards to his grandson.

Here we go.
Ivo places both keycards, activating the station. The whole
cannon lights up.

EXT. LONDON - DAY

A hatch opens in the River Thames before the Eclipse Cannon
rises out of it, as multiple civilians watch in shock and
horror. It begins to rocketing off into space.
Outside of the G.U.N. Headquarters, Team Sonic watch as Tom
is lead into a hospital stretcher. Tails puts a hand to
Sonic's shoulder.
TAILS
It'll be okay, Sonic.
SONIC
"It'll be okay"? Tom is fighting
for his life, and you think it'll
be okay?
KNUCKLES
The fox is simply trying to comfort
you.
SONIC
Comfort's not what I need right
now. I need to stop them, by any
means necessary.
TAILS
Wait, you don't mean...?
SONIC
The Master Emerald.
KNUCKLES
The Emerald must never be wielded
for vengeance. Not ever. We swore a
sacred oath.
Sonic gets right into Knuckles' face.
SONIC

Last chance. Where... IS IT?!
KNUCKLES
Don't do this.
It's a tense sibling moment. Knuckles sighs. His fists stop
glowing.
KNUCKLES (CONT'D)
Part of our oath is to trust each
other. And I must abide by that
promise, even if you have chosen to
break it. But heed this warning:
the Master Emerald is guarded by a
fearsome warrior, and to seize this
ultimate power, you will have to
go... through him.

EXT. GREEN HILLS - DAY

Ah crap, it's Wade. Wade is playing hockey on the roof of the
sheriff's office. The puck... Is the Master Emerald.

Okay, Wade. It all comes down to
this. [bats the Emerald around]
Last few seconds. Whipple down the
ice. He shoots. HE SCOOOOORES!!!
Wade Whipple is the champion again!
Sonic arrives by a ring portal. He isn't impressed.
WADE (CONT'D)
Oh, hey, Sonic. Seen my goal?
Pretty sick, right?
SONIC
I'm here for the emerald.
WADE
Look, Sonic, I'm sorry, I promised
to protect this Emerald with my
life. I will do whatever it takes
to-
Sonic takes it.
WADE (CONT'D)
Well, I tried.
Using the power of the Emerald, Sonic's true power is
unleashed. The golden god is reborn, SUPER SONIC! He rockets
off into space.

MONTAGE
Meanwhile, we see a montage of news reports frantically
talking about the Eclipse Cannon.
FEMALE NEWSCASTER
This is an urgent national
emergency broadcast. A spacecraft
designed by the agency G.U.N. has
been hijacked and launched out of
the River Thames.
MALE NEWSCASTER
All residents are urged to seek
immediate shelter.
The main weapon of the Cannon unveils itself, looking like
Eggman's classic logo.

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - DAY

Gerald and Shadow gaze out at Earth.
GERALD
It's time, Shadow.
SHADOW
Professor. Is this really what
Maria would have wanted?
GERALD
The question isn't what Maria would
have wanted. It's what do they
deserve. Remember what she meant to
us. Remember what they took from
us.
Shadow walks away and begins to remember the accident.

FLASHBACK
Back in the G.U.N. Base, Shadow enjoys Maria's music. Gerald
enters their room to warn them.
GERALD
Kids! We have to go, now!
Shadow, Gerald, and Maria run away from G.U.N. agents.
GERALD (CONT'D)
They want to take Shadow away from
us, Maria!
G.U.N. soldiers point their weapons. Captain Walters pushes
aside one soldier's gun.
CAPTAIN WALTERS
Hey! Wait! What are you doing?!
Those are children!
G.U.N. SOLDIER
We've got our orders, Walters!
CAPTAIN WALTERS
Stand down!
A soldier fires an energy shot at a nearby tank, causing the
glass to crack and a huge explosion to erupt. When the dust
settles, Shadow finds Gerald kneeling over the deceased
Maria.

SHADOW
Maria!
Shadow and Gerald exchange solemn looks as G.U.N. soldiers
encircle them. Shadow's anger boils over; his eyes surge with
orange chaos energy.

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - DAY

Shadow lets out a scream of rage. He runs furiously around
the cannon's core, charging it with chaos energy.
ROBOTNIK
Excuse me, grandpasadoble. What is
that thermonuclear gerbil doing?
GERALD
Infusing the core with chaos
energy. That's my little secret.
The Eclipse Cannon is about to turn
this planet into a flaming pile of
rubble, wiping out everything in a
25,000-mile radius... including us.
ROBOTNIK
WHAT?!?! We can't annihilate the
Earth! By combining our genius, we
can rule humanity... together.
GERALD
Humanity is a failed experiment. If
anyone should know that, it's you.
All your life, you’ve been rejected
by this world. You have nothing
down there. No one who cares about
you.
ROBOTNIK
But I have you now. We're family.
We have each other.
GERALD
Oh, Ivo... you're no Maria. The
moment I lost her, my family was
gone forever. The only way to give
Maria's life meaning is to destroy
the world that took her from me...
SO I'M BURNING IT ALL DOWN!!!
Shadow teleports next to Gerald.
SHADOW
It's done.

GERALD
Good work, Shadow. I'm prepping the
firing sequence. The weapon will be
fully charged in ten minutes.
Shadow looks out the window at Earth.
SHADOW
It's almost finished, Maria. You
will have justice.
They notice a golden blur approaching rapidly.
GERALD
What is that...?
SHADOW
Is G.U.N. launching missiles at us?
GERALD
Impossible. It's moving too fast!
Gerald sees Sonic's quill, glowing golden instead of blue.
ROBOTNIK
It's him.
Super Sonic charges through the bridge, colliding with Shadow
from the spaceship. They crash through a window as the
Robotniks cling on. The airlock activates, dropping them to
the floor.

EXT. SPACE - DAY

Super Sonic pulls Shadow along, hurt and furious.
SUPER SONIC
You hurt my family! THIS ENDS NOW!
SHADOW
Now you know my anger. The pain
I've felt for 50 YEARS! And you've
made the same choice I did.
SUPER SONIC
I'M NOTHING LIKE YOU!
SHADOW
We'll see.
Shadow grabs Super Sonic and turns him around as they crash
on Earth.

EXT. VOLCANO - DAY

Super Sonic, rising slowly, shouts:
SUPER SONIC
SHOW YOURSELF, COWARD!
Shadow teleports behind and knocks the Chaos Emeralds from
Sonic, reverting him to normal. The two hedgehogs race toward
the Emeralds. A golden beam bursts forth. Sonic turns to
Super Sonic, but he is now faced by Super Shadow, who blocks
it—causing the ground to crack beneath them.
SUPER SHADOW
You were right about one thing...
this ends now.
They exchange blows; Super Sonic drags Super Shadow across
the ground, then punches him around the world. Super Sonic
hurls him over mountains, spewing lava everywhere. As Super
Shadow attempts another punch, Super Sonic grabs his fist and
flies with him, continuing their brutal fight.

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - DAY

The Robotniks watch the hedgehogs' super duel from space.
GERALD
What's happening? Where are they?
ROBOTNIK
Up there.
GERALD
Where?
ROBOTNIK
Higher.
Gerald looks up as Ivo delivers a crushing punch to his
windpipe, causing him to gasp and drop.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
Left yourself open.
Ivo starts running toward the computer.
GERALD
Ivo, what are you doing?!
ROBOTNIK
Thwarting your evil plan!

Gerald summons a jetpack and flies toward Ivo, colliding with

him. The two Robotniks tussle and pull at each other's
mustaches.
ROBOTNIKS
OW-OW-OW-OW-OW-OW-OW!
ROBOTNIK
Not the mustache!
GERALD
Agreed!
ROBOTNIK
Let go on three. One, two, three!
They release and shake their mustaches before Gerald creates
a giant fist out of nanobots.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
Ooooh... a nanofist. I haven't seen
that since I hate-watched Green
Lantern in 2011.
GERALD
I was saving it for Comic-Con, but
now there won't be a Comic-Con!
Gerald slaps his grandson hard in the face.

EXT. GREECE - DAY

Super Sonic and Super Shadow continue exchanging punishing
blows. Super Shadow sends Super Sonic flying into the Temple
of Poseidon in Sounion, Greece.
SUPER SHADOW
Why are you alone? Where are your
friends? They tried to stop you,
didn't they? But you came anyway.
Your anger was too much. What kind
of hero abandons his friends for
revenge, abandons his family?
SUPER SONIC
Don't you dare talk about my
family!
SUPER SHADOW
And here I thought you cared for
them—especially the one... What's
his name, Tom?

Super Sonic roars, launching a powerful punch that

obliterates part of the ruins.

EXT. MOON - DAY

Super Shadow is sent flying toward the Moon, reverting back
to normal. Super Sonic arrives, grabs Shadow, and prepares to
finish him off.
SHADOW
Go ahead! FINISH IT!
An enraged Super Sonic hesitates.
SHADOW (CONT'D)
What are you waiting for?! DO IT!
I'm RIGHT HERE!
Sonic remembers Tom's words from his old home.
TOM (V.O.)
You didn't let your pain change who
you are... in here.
Super Sonic, shaken, lets go of Shadow. He sits down,
reverting back to normal, while Shadow looks on.
SHADOW
What are you doing? You won. Take
your revenge.
SONIC
There are no winners with revenge.
Shadow sees Sonic's sad expression before looking up to the
stars.
MARIA (V.O.)
Wow. Look at all those stars.
They're like diamonds.
SHADOW
The last time I sat beneath stars
like this... I was with her. I felt
this pain for so long. It's all I
know.
SONIC
When I lost Longclaw, I felt the
same way.
SHADOW
Did your pain eventually go away?

SONIC
No. But in time, I learned there
was something even more powerful
than pain. The love we felt for
each other. That's what you need to
hold onto, Shadow. Maria might be
gone, but your love for her will
always remain.
Sonic extends his hand toward Shadow.
SONIC (CONT'D)
You always have a choice.
Shadow takes his hand and stands.
SONIC (CONT'D)
But making the right choice is
never easy. One more thing I
learned is that when you really
screw something up, you can't fix
it on your own.
Shadow smiles, and the two hedgehogs grab each other’s hands
and transform into their super forms once again.
SUPER SONIC
Gotta go fast!
SUPER SHADOW
Don't tell me you've got a
catchphrase.
SUPER SONIC
That's right, new hedgehog, and
everyone loves it.
The two zoom off toward the Eclipse Cannon as- LIVE AND
LEARN! HANGING ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW, LIVE AND LEARN! OH
YEAAAAAAAAAH!
The scene shifts to the Eclipse Cannon bridge. Gerald uses
his nanobot fist to spank his grandson. ;)
GERALD
I... will... not... try... to
stop... my... elders... from...
destroying... the world!
Robotnik holds up a drill and punctures his granddaddies
boot. Staggering up, he speaks into his glove.
ROBOTNIK
Set up da-fence!

The computer activates a white picket fence with a mailbox.

ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
Damn you, autocorrect!
Gerald charges toward his grandson, grabbing his right arm,
which transforms into a robotic appendage. He looks like a
scorpion.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
Mantis!
The computer deploys mantis claws. Gerald tries to attack
with his stinger, but Ivo flies away with mantis wings.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
I'm right here, arach-nerd.
They block each other's hits, and Ivo manages to slice a
piece of Gerald's mustache with his claw. Gerald glances at
it, then back at Ivo.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
That's what I call mantis-scaping.
GERALD
That's ELDER ABUSE!
Gerald trips his grandson over the edge of the platform but
clings on to the ledge, holding tight. A computer alert
sounds.
COMPUTER
Alert! Alert!
Gerald notices Super Sonic and Super Shadow on a screen.
GERALD
Shadow... I see you've chosen
betrayal, and you were once so
useful to me.
He presses a button on his wrist computer.

EXT. SPACE - DAY

Outside the Eclipse Cannon, an army of robots deploys and
attacks Super Sonic and Super Shadow.
SUPER SONIC
Ready to recycle some tin cans?

SUPER SHADOW
Just try to keep up.
The duo plows through the metal soldiers as- BUT YOU CAN
HARDLY SWALLOW, YOUR FEARS AND PAAAAIN! YOU CAN'T HELP BUT
FOLLOW, IT PUTS YOU RIGHT BACK WHERE YOU CAAAAME!! They
strike a pose so cool, it'd make an anime fan cry on prom
night.

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - DAY

Back to the Eclipse Cannon bridge. Gerald walks over to where
Robotnik hangs on the edge of the platform.
ROBOTNIK
Please, Grampsy! Don't do this!
GERALD
Sorry, kiddo. Bring Your Grandkid
to Work Day is over.
Gerald opens a glass hatch below his grandson.
GERALD (CONT'D)
Any last words?!
ROBOTNIK
Just... one thing... that I never
thought I could say!
GERALD
What is it, "I love you"?
ROBOTNIK
No! It was something even better,
but I'm not gonna say it if that's
the way you're gonna be.
GERALD
Okay. Bye.
Gerald stomps on Ivo's hand, sending him falling off the
platform.
GERALD (CONT'D)
Ah, grandchildren. All the fun and
none of the responsibility.
Ivo flies back into the base, carried by Tails and Knuckles
via a ring portal, clutching Sonic's supercharged quill.
ROBOTNIK
Who said life was pointless?

GERALD
Huh?
ROBOTNIK
Oh, right. You did.
Ivo uses the quill to zap his grandfather in the butt.
GERALD
GAAAAAH!
He's launched into the energy field where he disintegrates
with a faint zap.
TAILS
Whoo-hoo!
KNUCKLES
Victory!
ROBOTNIK
Say what you want about my
granddad, he made one hell of a bug
zapper.
Ivo tosses the quill away as everyone gathers.
TAILS
We gotta stop that laser.
ROBOTNIK
I knew there was something I was
forgetting.

EXT. SPACE - DAY

Shadow spots the energy building at the tip of the cannon.
SUPER SHADOW
We're out of time. The cannon is
about to fire! Where are you?
He turns to see Super Sonic being chased by robots.
SUPER SONIC
Oh, you know. Just making friends.
They're all yours.
SUPER SHADOW unleashes chaos spears to decimate the robots
before flying off with Sonic toward the Eclipse Cannon.
SUPER SONIC (CONT'D)
Follow me!

The weapon fires as they approach it.

SUPER SONIC (CONT'D)
Now this might hurt a little!
The laser strikes, hitting the hedgehogs. SUPER SONIC and
SUPER SHADOW both struggle against the beam.
SUPER SHADOW
So, this was your plan?!
SUPER SONIC
Yeah... Would someone mind shutting
down the giant death ray?!

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - DAY

Tails and Robotnik sit in the pilot seats as Robotnik cracks
his lmao knuckles.
TAILS
We can't stop the cannon from
firing...
ROBOTNIK
But we can steer it away from the
Earth. Coming around to starboard.
TAILS
Aye, aye, doc.
Tails pulls the lever, powering the thrusters as he and
Robotnik work together to divert the weapon.
ROBOTNIK
Here we go. It's a little tight.
Definitely not power-steering.
The Eclipse Cannon begins to veer away.
SUPER SONIC
Keep... turning!
ROBOTNIK
Jump in anytime here, guys!
Tails and Knuckles help Robotnik as a monitor shows the
beam's trajectory is still dangerously close to Earth.
SUPER SONIC
Can't... hold... much... longer!

Robotnik, Tails, and Knuckles exert all their strength to

steer the cannon.
Sonic, nearing his limit, reverts to normal as he passes out.
Fortunately, just as he does, the cannon’s beam misses Earth.
On the Eclipse Cannon bridge, Robotnik, Tails, and Knuckles
cheer.
ROBOTNIK
Yes, I did it! I DID IT!
The laser unexpectedly cuts through the Moon. The team
winces.
ROBOTNIK, TAILS, AND KNUCKLES
OHHHHHHH!
ROBOTNIK
(to the freaks)
Look what you did!
TAILS
Hey! Look down there!
KNUCKLES
Sonic!
An unconscious Sonic is seen falling toward Earth.
Tails and Knuckles race to the Cannon's airlock. Tails holds
up one ring. They both nod.
TAILS
Last one. Let's make it count.
The airlock opens.
TAILS (CONT'D)
Ready for a little base of ball?
He then gets on Knuckles' hand, rolling up into a ball.
TAILS (CONT'D)
Deep breath. One... two... three!
Knuckles throws Tails out. Tails leaps off to rescue Sonic.
Meanwhile, the Eclipse Cannon is exploding from the chaos
energy. Shadow teleports next to Robotnik.
The scene shifts to the Eclipse Cannon bridge.

ROBOTNIK
GAH! Really?!
SUPER SHADOW
What's happening?
ROBOTNIK
The reactor core is overloading.
It’s only a matter of time before
it blows.
SUPER SHADOW
We're not done here. You try to
stabilize the reactor. Buy me some
time. I'll push the station away
from Earth before it explodes. This
is our last chance... to do the
right thing.
ROBOTNIK
Vaya con Dios... erizo apestoso.
SUPER SHADOW teleports offscreen. A computer alarm blares.
COMPUTER
Core integrity failing.
Robotnik immediately sets to work. He raises to the ceiling,
spreading explosion dampeners that circle around the flaming
dome.

EXT. SPACE - DAY

Tails catches up with Sonic's falling body.
TAILS
I... got you, Sonic!
Tails gets out the portal ring and prepares to throw it, only
to lose consciousness.
Up above, Super Shadow removes his Limiter Rings and, using
his strength, pushes the Eclipse Cannon away from Earth
before it explodes.

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - NIGHT

Robotnik activates a small camera. He begins a live feed.
COMPUTER
Initializing reactor core
stabilizers.

EXT. LONDON - NIGHT

In Downtown London, Agent Stone watches a massive screen of
Robotnik.
ROBOTNIK
This is Doctor Ivo Robotnik,
dedicating my final livestream to
one very special henchman... Agent
Stone.
STONE
No, no! Doctor, wait!
ROBOTNIK
If I can't rule the world... I
might as well save it! For the one
and only person who ever cared
about me.
STONE
Don't do this, doctor. Please!
ROBOTNIK
Stone... You were more than a
sycophant to me. You were... a
syco-friend.
The Cannon is collapsing around Robotnik.
ROBOTNIK (CONT'D)
I'll miss your lattes with steamed
Austrian goat milk. I love the way
you make 'em!
Stone can't help but smile. A teardrop rolls down his cheek.

EXT. SPACE - NIGHT

Shadow growls as he pushes the Cannon further and further
away from Earth. He closes his eyes, thinking about Maria.
The 50 years of lingering pain...
Tails is now falling beside Sonic. His single ring falls out
of his hand... only to be grabbed by Knuckles. He quickly
tosses the ring, grabs his friends and dives in, back to
Earth, back to safety.

INT. ECLIPSE CANNON - NIGHT

The Cannon is seconds from exploding.

ROBOTNIK
So... I guess there's only one
thing left to say.
(robot moves)
It's been a real drag! Thanks for
nothing.

EXT. CORNFIELD - NIGHT

The ring portal transfers Team Sonic into a cornfield. They
land in a heap. Sonic comes to just in time to see the
Eclipse Cannon explode in a brilliant show of light. His
friends join him in watching.
TAILS
Sonic, look... Shadow and Robotnik.
They sacrificed themselves to save
everyone.
SONIC
You always have a choice. Guys, I'm
really sorry for running off like
that. I shouldn't have left you
behind. The truth is... you're the
best teammates a hedgehog could
ever ask for, and the best friends.
Can you ever forgive me?
Knuckles pauses to think. He raises a fist.
KNUCKLES
Team Sonic?
SONIC
How about just "Team"?
They all share a hug.

EXT. LONDON - NIGHT

Agent Stone sadly walks away from London city.
STONE
Goodbye, doctor.

EXT. GREEN HILLS - DAY

We fade back to see Sonic making a huge sandwich out of
several treats, stacking it with ice cream, marshmallows and
chocolate. They're back to the camp site.

SONIC
Big finish.
SONIC finishes the sandwich with chocolate bars holding the
top cracker. Knuckles squishes the sandwich down to size with
his fists.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Now that's what I call teamwork.
TAILS
Okay, it's ready!
Tails turns back, only to see Sonic and Knuckles eating the
sandwich already.
SONIC
Knuckles, how could you?!
TAILS
Gotta be faster than that!
Tom, still alive, steps out of the tent, though his arm is in
a cast.
TOM
Give me a break. Still a little
slow over here.
SONIC
Donut Lord!
KNUCKLES
Ha ha!
TAILS
Yay!
They all hug. Knuckles goes a little too hard.
TOM
Okay, Knuckles.
KNUCKLES
I'm having the love.
OZZY
(barks)
"I want the love!"
SONIC
Get in here, Ozzy.
Ozzy joins in on the group hug.

TAILS
It's great to be back together.
KNUCKLES
We're stronger than ever.
SONIC
And nothing's gonna stand in our
way. Except that one piece of
unfinished business.
"Team" get ready for another race. They take off into the
forest.
SONIC (CONT'D)
And way up in front to the surprise
of absolutely no one, it's the Blue
Blur. Often imitated, never
duplicated. The one, the only...
Suddenly, Knuckles punches through a tree and runs up front.
KNUCKLES
Let's do this!
Tails flies up with a new jetpack.
TAILS
Yeah!
Sonic catches up with his friends.
SONIC
Alright, boys. Try and keep up!
The trio jump up and speed off into the horizon. The credits
roll. And after they finish...

INT. NEW YORK STATE PARK - NIGHT

Sonic is seen running alone.
SONIC
Sonic the Hedgehog is family
champion once again! Uh... Tails?
Knuckles?
He then turns around to find a sign reading "WELCOME - NEW
YORK STATE PARK - WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE!"
SONIC (CONT'D)
Okay. Yeah, I overshot the finish
line.
 87.

Suddenly, a flash of lightning zaps behind him without being

noticed. From that spot emerges a metal blue hedgehog robot
resembling Sonic. It's Metal Sonic.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Okay, so how do I get back?
Metal Sonic powers up his blaster and aims at Sonic. Cut
outside, an explosion bursts from within the forest. Back in
the forest, the area is set on fire, and a piece of the
welcome sign falls to the ground.
SONIC (CONT'D)
Pro-tip: if you're gonna take a
shot at the fastest creature in the
universe...
He punches Metal Sonic back, and Metal Sonic skids before
quickly getting up with his head facing the other way.
SONIC (CONT'D)
You better not miss. I'm flattered
by the cosplay, but you got a few
details wrong. I can't blame you,
though.
It's hard to copy perfection.
However, several pairs of glowing red eyes appear in the
forest. An army of Metal Sonic clones step out and surround
Sonic.
SONIC (CONT'D)
That's a new trick...
Suddenly, a pink blur flies by and hits them. A red-and-
yellow hammer flies up in the air. A hooded figure leaps in
to grab it while posing in front of the broken moon. The
figure flies down to destroy the last robot as Sonic watches
in shock and awe.
SONIC (CONT'D)
What? Who are you?
The figure hoists their hammer over their shoulder for a
moment and then removes their hood to reveal a female pink
hedgehog, Amy Rose! She smiles confidently.)

EXT. VOLCANO - DAY

In an unknown crater, the camera zooms in to reveal one of
Shadow's limiter rings. Shadow, who is still alive, steps
into the frame with his shoes only being visible as he picks
up the ring- LIVE AND LEARN! HANGING ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW!
