What is prepositions ?
◦ Definition: A preposition denotes the relationship
between a noun or pronoun in the sentence.
Prepositions is a word that shows the position or time of
something.
◦ Examples:
◦ a) The cat is under the table. ( Shows position)
◦ b) we will meet at 5 o’clock . ( Shows time)
Common Prepositions
List: in, on, under, over, between, beside, with, at, by,
into etc.
Types of Prepositions :

◦Time: at, on, in

◦Place/ Position: in, on, under, over,


between .

◦Direction/ Movement: into, towards.
