As an infant, Aelar’s parents were killed by
trappers for their hides. Rescued by a group of
elves, he was raised in their village, Heskan.
Although initially wary, the elves came to accept
Aelar. During the summer equinox festival, Aelar
had a vision of wielding a flaming sword and
leading an army against evil, revealing his destiny
as a paladin of Bahamut. He trained under the
elves, mastering the ways of a paladin despite
their differing faiths. Five and a half years later,
orcs raided Heskan, killing everyone except Aelar.
In the battle, he killed the orc leader, who wore a
cloak of golden dragonborn hide. That night,
Bahamut visited him in another vision, reinforcing
his divine mission.
