Compliance Time : Recommended at the next regularly scheduled inspection, not to exceed
100 hours of operation.

Purpose : A drain hole was omitted from the air scoop located on the bottom of the engine
lower cowl on a number of the above referenced aircraft.

This Service Release contains instructions to inspect the subject air scoop and to install
the drain hole if it is found to be missing.

Instructions: (Refer to sketch on reverse side.)

1. Check the bottom surface of the air intake scoop for the presence of a
191 hole located approximately 8” back from the forward edge of the scoop.
if a dram hole is present, no further action is necessary. Make a log book
entry that this Service Bulletin has been complied with.

NOTE

The check described above may be accomplished by the owner/operator.

2. If no hole is found, then drill a .191 hole at the location shown in the sketch.
Make a log book entry that this Service Bulletin has been complied with.

Availability of Parts : Not Applicable.

Effectivity Date: This Service Release is effective upon receipt.

Summary: Please contact your Piper Field Service Facility if any assistance is necessary
regarding this release.
