Reading Passage: The Rise of Remote Work
Over the past decade, remote work has become increasingly popular around the world. Thanks to
improvements in internet technology, many people now have the option to work from home instead
of commuting to an office. This trend has been especially noticeable since the global pandemic,
which forced millions of employees to perform their duties from their own homes. There are several
reasons why people prefer remote work. First, it saves time and money because they don’t need to
travel to work. Second, it offers more flexibility, allowing workers to spend more time with family
or focus on personal goals. However, working from home can also have challenges. Some people
find it hard to concentrate, and others may feel isolated without daily interactions with colleagues.
Despite the disadvantages, remote work seems to be a permanent part of the modern job market.
Many companies now offer hybrid roles, where employees can choose to work from home for part
of the week and go into the office for the rest.

Reading Passage: The Story of the Bicycle
The bicycle is one of the most common forms of transport in the world. It is cheap, easy to use, and
good for the environment. But bicycles haven’t always been the same. The first bicycle, created in
the early 19th century, didn’t even have pedals. Riders had to push themselves along using their feet.
Over time, bicycles improved. Pedals were added, and later, rubber tires made the ride smoother. By
the end of the 19th century, bicycles became popular across Europe and America. They were no
longer just for sport – many people used them to travel to work or visit friends.
Today, bicycles come in many types: mountain bikes, road bikes, and electric bikes. In busy cities,

Reading Passage: A Visit to a National Park
Last summer, my family and I visited Yellowstone National Park in the United States. It was one of
the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The park is famous for its hot springs, waterfalls, forests,
and wild animals like bears, wolves, and bison.
We spent four days in the park. On the first day, we saw a geyser called Old Faithful. It shoots hot
water into the air every 90 minutes, and many tourists wait to see it. On the second day, we hiked
through the forest and saw a herd of bison. They were huge but calm.
During our visit, we stayed in a small cabin. There was no TV or internet, so we played board games
and told stories in the evening. I didn’t miss technology at all. The fresh air and natural beauty made
me feel peaceful and happy.
Yellowstone is a great place for anyone who loves nature. You can go camping, hiking, or just relax
