1. PLANNING INFORMATION
A. EFFECTIVITY
All MLG leg assy LH P/N 8G3210V00331 or P/N 8G3210V00332, MLG leg assy RH
P/N 8G3210V00431 or P/N 8G3210V00432 installed on AW189 helicopters or kept in
stock.
B. COMPLIANCE
Within 10000 landings for MLG leg assy LH P/N 8G3210V00331 and MLG leg assy
RH P/N 8G3210V00431.
Within 15000 landings for MLG leg assy LH P/N 8G3210V00332 and MLG leg assy
RH P/N 8G3210V00432.
C. CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS

D. REASON
This Service Bulletin is issued in order to give instructions to replace MLG legs with
new improved ones.
E. DESCRIPTION
This Service Bulletin gives instructions to the customers to remove the MLG legs
P/N 8G3210V00531 or P/N 8G3210V00532 and P/N 8G3210V00631 or
P/N 8G3210V00632 part of MLG leg assy LH P/N 8G3210V00331 or
P/N 8G3210V00332 and MLG leg assy RH P/N 8G3210V00431 or
P/N 8G3210V00432 and install new improved components. The removed items must
be returned to Leonardo helicopters and will be upgraded by the manufacturer in order
to update the landing gears to the latest standard in accordance with dedicated
Liebherr Service Bulletins.
The new MLG legs include the following features:
• Shock Actuator bearing of different material to improve wearing and endurance
resistance
• New outboard trailing arm shouldered bush
• New harness fixation bracket which improves clearance with respect to electrical
cables installed in the MLG bay
• New S/A eye ends with self-lubricating bearing.

• New fixation kit which is reduced by one clamp band on each MLG leg. The type of
clamp band is new (reduced bolt length);
F. APPROVAL
The technical content of this Service Bulletin is approved under the authority of DOA
nr. EASA.21.J.005. For helicopters registered under other Aviation Authorities, before
applying the Service Bulletin, applicable Aviation Authority approval must be checked
within Leonardo Helicopters customer portal.
EASA states mandatory compliance with inspections, modifications or technical
directives and related time of compliance by means of relevant Airworthiness
Directives.
If an aircraft listed in the effectivity embodies a modification or repair not LHD certified
and affecting the content of this Service Bulletin, it is responsibility of the
Owner/Operator to obtain a formal approval by Aviation Authority having jurisdiction on
the aircraft, for any adaptation necessary before incorporation of the present Service
Bulletin.
G. MANPOWER
To comply with this Service Bulletin thirty-five (35) MMH are deemed necessary.
MMH are based on hands-on time and can change with personnel and facilities
available.

(1) P/N 8G3210V00333 can be supplied as alternative. This assembly P/N includes
also MLG wheel assy LH P/N 4F3210V00631, tire P/N 247F48-3 and LH brake
P/N 4F3240V00532. When P/N 8G3210V00333 is supplied, customer is not
required to re-install LH wheel and LH brake that have to be returned to LHD as
stated in the Section C “Industry Support Information”.
(2) P/N 8G3210V00433 can be supplied as alternative. This assembly P/N includes
also MLG wheel assy LH P/N 4F3210V00631, tire P/N 247F48-3 and RH brake
P/N 4F3240V00532. When P/N 8G3210V00433 is supplied, customer is not
required to re-install RH wheel and RH brake that have to be returned to LHD as
stated in the Section C “Industry Support Information”.

WARRANTY: Owners/Operators who comply with the instructions of this Bulletin, no
later than the applicable date in the “Compliance section” will be eligible to receive

NOTE: Customers who fail to comply with the instructions in this bulletin before the
compliance date are not eligible for the aforementioned special policy. Please Issue
relevant M.M.I.R. form ( (M)aintenance (M)alfunction (I)nformation (R)eport ) to your
Warranty Administration Dpt.
NOTE: Main Landing Gear Legs P/N 8G3210V00531, 8G3210V00631 or
8G3210V00532, 8G3210V00632, have to be returned exclusively to LHD complete of
all documentation attached on single part (log card, certificate, etc.), within thirty (30)
calendar days after the shipment of the replacement part. In case of missing return
within thirty (30) calendar days, Customer will be invoiced for the price of the
replacement parts.
NOTE: in case for logistic reasons Main Landing Gear Assemblies
P/N 8G3210V00333 or 8G3210V00433 (Main Landing Gear Leg + Brake Assy + Tire +
MLG wheel assy) are provided in lieu of Main Landing Gear Legs P/N 8G3210V00533
or 8G3210V00633, then also the MLG Wheel Assy P/N 4F3210V00631, tire
P/N 247F48-3 and Brake Assy P/N 4F3240V00532 originally installed on the aircraft
have to be returned to LHD uninstalled from the respective Leg and complete of all
documentation attached on single part (log card, certificate, etc.). In this case issue
separate M.M.I.R. forms ( (M)aintenance (M)alfunction (I)nformation (R)eport ) to your
Warranty Administration Dpt. also for each part returned.

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
GENERAL NOTES
a) Place an identification tag on all components that
are re-usable, including the attaching hardware that
has been removed to gain access to the
modification area and adequately protect them until
their later re-use.
b) All lengths are in mm.
NOTE
For MLG legs kept in stock, Steps 1 and 2 are not
applicable.
1. In accordance with DM 89-A-00-20-00-00A-120A-A, prepare the helicopter on ground for
a safe maintenance. Disconnect the battery, all electrical power sources and/or the
external power supply.
2. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-11-01-00A-520A-A, remove the MLG assy LH from
the helicopter.
3. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-41-03-00A-520A-A, remove and retain the left
wheel from the MLG leg LH for later use.
4. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-42-02-00A-520A-A, remove and retain the left
wheel brake from the MLG leg RH for later use.
5. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-12-01-00A-520A-A, remove the MLG assy RH
from the helicopter.
6. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-41-04-00A-520A-A, remove and retain the right
wheel from the MLG leg LH for later use.
7. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-42-03-00A-520A-A, remove and retain the right
wheel brake from the MLG leg RH for later use.
8. Return the affected MLG legs P/N 8G3210V00531 or P/N 8G3210V00532 and
P/N 8G3210V00631 or P/N 8G3210V00632 to Leonardo Helicopters Division customer
support. Please refer to your usual contact point in Leonardo Helicopter Division Material
Services, in order to arrange the return of replaced items in LHD facility.
9. If MLG leg assemblies P/N 8G3210V00333 and P/N 8G3210V00433 has been supplied,
perform the following procedure:
9.1 In accordance with applicable steps of DM 89-A-32-41-03-01A-921A-B,
disassemble tire P/N 247F48-3 and wheel assembly P/N 4F3210V00631 from LH
MLG wheel. Return tire and wheel assembly to Leonardo Helicopters Division

customer support. Please refer to your usual contact point in Leonardo Helicopter
Division Material Services, in order to arrange the return of replaced items in LHD
facility.
9.2 In accordance with applicable steps of DM 89-A-32-41-04-01A-921A-B
disassemble tire P/N 247F48-3 and wheel assembly P/N 4F3210V00631 from
RH MLG wheel. Return tire and wheel assembly to Leonardo Helicopters Division
customer support. Please refer to your usual contact point in Leonardo Helicopter
Division Material Services, in order to arrange the return of replaced items in LHD
facility.
10. If necessary to install wheels and brakes to the new MLG assemblies
P/N 8G3210V00333 and P/N 8G3210V00433, perform the following steps:
10.1 In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-42-02-00A-720A-A, install the left wheel
brake to the new MLG leg LH P/N 8G3210V00533.
10.2 In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-41-03-00A-720A-A, install the left wheel to
the new MLG leg LH P/N 8G3210V00533.
10.3 In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-42-03-00A-720A-A, install the right wheel
brake to the new MLG leg RH P/N 8G3210V00633.
10.4 In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-41-04-00A-720A-A, install the right wheel
to the new MLG leg RH P/N 8G3210V00633.
NOTE
For MLG legs kept in stock, steps 11, 12 and 13 are
not applicable.
11. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-11-01-00A-720A-A, install the new MLG assy LH
P/N 8G3210V00333.
12. In accordance with AMP DM 89-A-32-12-01-00A-720A-A, install the new MLG assy RH
P/N 8G3210V00433.
13. Return the helicopter to flight configuration and record for compliance with this Service
Bulletin on the helicopter logbook.
14. Send the attached compliance form to the following mail box:
