During my on-the-job training at the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), I was exposed
to various social work functions. My tasks included assisting with case studies, preparing case summaries,
conducting home visits, and helping clients access appropriate services. This experience strengthened my
communication, documentation, and client assessment skills—many of which are essential in a hospital
environment.
Although my training was in a local government setting, I am confident that my adaptability, and dedication to
service will allow me to effectively transition into the medical social work field. I am especially interested in
supporting patients and families as they deal with illness, hospitalization, and recovery, while ensuring they have
access to needed resources and interventions.
