Using a 4 mm hook, beg with a magic ring.
To fit Teen-Adult 1st rnd: 6dc in ring.
Head circumference (cm) ± 59 2nd rnd: Inc in each dc = 12dc.
MATERIALS 3rd rnd: (Inc, 1dc) around = 18dc.
Charity Big Bang 648 300 g ball 1 4th rnd: (Inc, 2dc) around = 24dc.
You will need an average of 220 g yarn 5th rnd: (Inc, 3dc) around = 30dc.
4 mm crochet hook 6th rnd: 2dc, (inc, 4dc) 5 times, inc, 2dc = 36dc.
7th rnd: (Inc, 5dc) around = 42dc.
TENSION
8th rnd: 3dc, (inc, 6dc) 5 times, inc, 3dc = 48dc.
Is not essential to achieve success
9th rnd: (Inc, 7dc) around = 54sts.
10th rnd: 4dc, (inc, 8dc) 5 times, inc, 4dc = 60dc.
ABBREVIATIONS
11th rnd: (Inc, 9dc) around = 66dc.

inc = increase
16th rnd: 1dc in each dc.

Rep 16th rnd until work measures ±16 cm from top, slst in first dc.

RUFFLE:
st = stitch
Next rnd: 2ch (does not count as a st), work 3tr in each dc around,
tr = treble
slst in first tr.
Next rnd: 2ch, work 3tr in each tr around, slst in first tr.
NOTE
Rep last rnd once more, then fasten off and weave away ends.
An increase is made by working 2 double crochet into the same
stitch.
MAGIC RING
Wrap the yarn twice around your index and middle fingers, insert
hook under the strands and pull through a loop. Slip the yarn from
your fingers and work one chain stitch to secure the ring. Once
you have worked the first round, pull on the shorter end to pull the
ring closed.
