Notes
● TECHNIQUE: overlay mosaic crochet in rows
● Ch1 doesn’t count as a stitch.
● All rows are worked on the right (front) side & fastened off at the end of every row.
● Each row will have 37 stitches.
● Your work may lean, because you are working right side only row by row, blocking or border will fix this.
● Don't worry about your ends as we will be enclosing them in an envelope border.
● The pattern includes charts and the written pattern.
● Border written pattern with pictures.
● 4mm hook is used for the main part of the pattern.
● 5mm used for the envelope border slip stitches only.
● 3.5mm used for border stitches.

Gauge Invisible join
20 sts x 10 rows ( 4"x 4") using a tr stitch. Remove the hook from the loop and insert it from back to front
into both top loops of the first st of this round. Now take up the
Measurements loop again and pull it through the stitch – you have made an
21cm wide x 26cm long (unfolded) invisible join.
Working from Chart 1
To Start - 4mm hook, in yarn A chain 38, work in the 2nd chain from the hook.
R1 A Dc in each chain (37 sts) (same as row 10 when working repeats).
R2 B Ch1, fdc, dc blo to last stitch, ldc.
R3 A Ch1, fdc, tr, dc, [3tr, dc, 3tr, dc] x4, tr, ldc.
R4 B Ch1, fdc, dc, tr, [3 dc, tr, 3dc, tr] x4, dc, ldc.
R5 A Ch1, fdc, tr, dc, [2tr, 3dc, 2tr, dc] x4, tr, ldc.

Envelope Border
To get ready to start your envelope border you need to tie 2 ends together at a time and knot them.
Repeat this for both sides.
Note - Just a note for the border, don't slip stitch too tightly.
Start with you 5mm hook and yarn B in the top right corner of your mosaic panel.
R1 - Slip stitch in each stitch along the top of your panel.
- Turn your work and work a ss in each row end to the last stitch.
- Turn your work to now work along the bottom of your panel, ss along the bottom to the last stitch.
- Turn your work one last time and work a ss in each row end to the last stitch.
Once you have done you last stitch, snip your yarn and pull through and complete an invisible join.

Now you will be working with your 3.5mm hook and in the chains that you just made. We will be working in
the BACK BAR with the wrong side facing in the top right corner. Attach yarn B.
R2 - Ch2, htr in each back bar to the last stitch, ch2.
- Now working along your row edge in the back bar, htr in each stitch to the last stitch, ch2.
- repeat doing a htr in each stitch and ch2 in the corners around your panel to the last stitch, ch2,
ss to the top of the chain 2. Tie off.
Now with the right side of your panel facing, join yarn B in the top right corner.
Same as round 2 we will be working in the top loop of the ss.
R3 - Ch2, htr in each back bar to the last stitch, ch2.
- Now working along your row edge in the back bar, htr in each stitch to the last stitch, ch2.
- repeat doing a htr in each stitch and ch2 in the corners around your panel to the last stitch, ch2,
ss to the top of the chain 2. Tie off.

Now the hard bits over!
Trim your ends to about 1 inch long. Attach yarn A with the wrong side facing to the top right corner stitch.
R4 - Htr in each stitch around and making sure you do (htr, ch2, htr) in the chain 2 spaces.
- Ss to the first stitch.
Attach yarn A with the right side facing to the top right corner stitch.
R5 - Htr in each stitch around and making sure you do (htr, ch2, htr) in the chain 2 spaces.
- Ss to the first stitch.
Now with the right side of your panel facing, attach yarn B in top left corner, work down the edge of your panel.
The next border round you will be joining both border sides together to enclose your ends.
R6 - In the blo of each side, ss in each stitch around your first 3 sides of your panel
- On the last side, 19 blo ss, chain 10 to make a loop, finish row with another 19 blo ss.
- Finish with an invisible join.

Now with the right side of your panel facing you, fold one end up and sew each edge up using yarn B and a needle.
Now turn your pouch right side out.
Sew your button onto your pouch in the centre where your loop will be.
Sew all ends in!
