APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF LAND SURVEYOR
I, Samuel Yager hereby apply for the subject position in your organization. I am a graduate of
Civil Engineering and Land Surveying, a Master’s Degree, Geoinformatics and Surveying
form the prestigious University of Nigeria and Registration with Surveyors Registration
Council of Nigerian/Nigeria Institution of Surveyors. I have Eight years (8yrs) working
experience both on field and in the office.
I previously worked with Patuxent Limited, Messrs V&Q Concept Limited, Tectonics
Engineering & Consult Ltd, Qumecs Nigeria Limited, Mogul Engineering Nigeria and Triacta
Nigeria Ltd with the responsibilities of planning, coordinating and managing activities
according to local and international regulations with successful accomplishment of various
projects, implementation and achieved results.
As a Surveyor i lead quality implementation plan, I ensured that the quality plans of various
projects are executed successfully and I have worked with the different teams to proffer
corrective actions to processes whenever deviations occur. I participated in monitoring of all
project protocols for quality, safety and standard adherence. I have managed funds for project
and oversee bill of quantity for accuracy and accountability. As well as being responsible for
disseminating training and materials to members of staff.
I have held the position of a project manager/supervised in Building/Civil Engineering
Consultant Companies. I have been responsible for the preparing of BOQ, planning and
organization of construction activities. I have developed skills in writing, communication and
computer skills(Proficient in Microsoft office, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Orion, Surfer and many
other Engineering/Surveying Software) as well as the use of DGPS, Total Station, Automatic
Levels and other Surveying Instrument in carrying out Road/Geometrics Design, Design
of Road Hydraulic Structures (Drainage and Culvert) controlling Earthwork/RCC and other
element) also I have worked with Surveying and GIS/Mapping firms in various State which
all this project has taken me in almost all states across the Country.
Owing to these job experiences, I have grown up as an efficient and knowledgeable program
management specialist. Additionally, as an outgoing person, I find it easy to connect with
people from different age groups, cultural backgrounds and with varied interests. My unbiased
nature also helps me to develop a positive relationship which makes me a good team player.
I believe these qualities would make me a valuable addition to your organization.
