PREAMBLE
We,members of Ebube mba age
grade in Amankalu Alayi,Bende
LGA of Abia
State,for the purpose of
effective administration and
the promotion of our aims
and objectives HEREBY ENACT
AND GIVE TO OURSELVES the
following
constitution.
This constitution shall be read
and quoted as articles,sections
and numbers.

ARTICLE 1:NAME OF AGE GRADE
There shall be a socio-cultural
organization of the good people of
Amankalu
Alayi in Bende LGA of Abia
State,which shall be called "Ebube
mba age
grade”.
This age grade shall embody the
bonafide members born between
the year
1991 to 1994.
ARTICLE:2 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1.To uphold and maintain a good spirit
of brotherhood,love,patriotism and
co-operation among members.
2.To promote development and
maintain the culture,customs and
traditions of
Amankalu Alayi.
3.To defend and protect the right and
interest of the age grade and its entire
members wherever they are.
4.To co-operate with superior
authorities of Amankalu Alayi
development
union(AADU)and Alayi development
union(ADU)for the benefit of
Ebube mba age grade in particular and
Amankalu Alayi in general.
5.To contribute to peace,unity and
progress of the members.
6.To serve as a pillar of support both
financially and morally to every
member
in their time of need.
ARTICLE 3:MEMBERSHIP
Section 1:A Qualied Member

(i)
Subject to article 1.2.Above.Bonafide
Members shall be.
Indigenous adult male of Amankalu Alayi
born within the range from
(ii.)
the year of 1991 to the year 1994.
Any adult male that has lived in Amankalu
Alayi for ten (10)years or
above and falls within the birth year of
1991-1994 found worthy of
good character is eligible to be a member.
Section 2:Membership Registration
(I)
All qualified members shall be registered
with the sum of five
thousand naira (N5,000).
All registered members shall be mandated
to pay a monthly due of
(ii.)
five hundred naira (N500).This will serve as
our monthly roll-call
starting from when ebube mba is found nd
formed.

ARTICLE 4:MEMBERSHIP FEES/DUES
1.Child dedication …each Members is
require to pay the sum of two thousand
nairi
(N2000 fee for child dedication for
ceremony
Wedding Marriage:Members shall pay a fee
of three thousand 3000
for the wedding of a member.
3.Burial of a member…Members shall pay
a fee of two thousand naira
(N2000 leyy for the burial of a member.
4.Parents/wife burial:every Member will
pay the sum of two thousand naira
(N2,000)fee in the event of the death of a
member's parent or wife.
ARTICLE 5:MEMBERSHIP 7
CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS
1.Any member who is in debt ofa fine shall
not be eligible to invite the age
grade to any of his occasion and therefore
shall not be entitled to any benefit.
A member shall pay up all his outstanding
fines at least one month to his
occasion before he is eligible to invite this
age grade to any of his occasion.
2.Every member shall pay up all
outstanding monthly roll call if he has one
at
least one month to his occasion before he
is eligible to invite the age grade to
his occasion.
3.Any member who is in debt of four (4)or
more consecutive levies shall not
be eligible to invite the age grade to his
occasion and therefore shall nol be
entitled to any benefit.
A member shall pay up all outstanding
levies at least one month to his
occasion before he is eligible to invite the
age grade.

4.Any member who invite the age grade for
his ceremony such as burial,child
dedication or wedding shall present one
bottle of whiskey or a cash of five
thousand naira(N5,000)as an invitation
kola.The sum shall be
transferred
to Ebube mba's bank account.
5.A member who invited the age grade to
his ceremony shall provide the
following to Ebube mba:full cooler of food
with water,two
cartons of mixed beer together with soft
drinks,one bottle of
original whisky to the
representatives of the age grade that
honored his invitation.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
AND ACCEPTANCE OF INVITATION
1.Marriage Ceremony
2.Burial Ceremony
3.Child dedication
The above invitations shall ONLY be
honored if we are given at least a one-
month
notice before the event to enable us
prepare and arrange for the logistics and
benefit of the inviter.
The invitation shall be orally or
written.Except in the event where a burial
takes
place less than one month after the death.
ARTICLE 7:BENEFITS OF A MEMBER 10
Section 1:Death of a member
1.The age grade shall give utmost attention
to the death of a member provided
the member was not indicted for armed
robbery,rape,murder or any other
serious crime.
2.The age grade shall give the family of the
deceased member the sum of one
hundred thousand naira (N100,000)in
addition to one bottle of hot
drink.
3.The age grade shall be well represented;
(I.)
The branch shall nominate two (2)members
whose
transportation shall be fully covered by the
age grade to
accompany the deceased family in
conveying the corpse back
home.
(ii.)
Any other member who wishes to attend
the funeral ceremony
of the deceased shall personally bear the
cost.

4.Any member who owes the age grade,the
amount he owes shall be deducted
from the amount to be given to his
bereaved family.
5.Any member who loses his status of
membership before his demise shall not
be considered a member and stand no
chance for any death benefit.
However,members reserve the right to
honor the burial ceremony in an
individual capacity as a mark of respect
and not on behalf of the age grade.
Section 2:Social visit 12
1.In the event of a wedding ceremony of a
member,the age grade shall give
the member the sum of one hundred
thousand naira (N100,000)as a cash
gift.
2.The age grade shall be well represented
by members especially members of
the same branch.
3.On the condolence visit to a bereaved
member;
(i)
Wife:A member who lost his wife to death
shall be entitled to the
sum of one hundred thousand naira
(N100,000)by the age grade.,and
shall be well represented by the age
grade.There shall be no
condolence visit and no monetary benefit
to a member whose wife's
bride price was not verified and confirmed
paid

(ii)
Father/Mother:A member who lost his
biological father/mother shall
be entitled to a sum of fifty thousand naira
(N50,000)and the age
grade shall be well represented.
(iii)
Child:A member who lost his child shall be
entitled to a sum of fifty
thousand naira (N50,000)on the condition
that the wife's bride price
was paid.Every member of ebube mba that
lives in the same
branch must visit the bereaved member.
(iv)
Members from the same parent(s)who lost
their parent(s)are entitled
to the sum of fifty thousand naira
(N50,000)each provided they
informed the age grade separately.
They will provide our drinks separately,
but can join hands and serve us full
cooler of rice.

Section 3:Child Dedication
A member who is dedicating his child
shall:
(I)
Be entitled to a sum of fithy thousand
naira 50,000.
And the right of 50,000 is one time right,
but other invitations will be honored
in exception of the right.
(ii)
A member who has not fulfilled the
marriage rite of his wife but
decides to dedicate his child shall not
be entitled to any monetary gift.

ARTICLE 8:GENERAL CONDUCT
Section1:Meeting Agenda
1.A member shall not bring up any
matter not related to the meeting
agenda at any point in time unless it is
time for any other business
(AOB).Any defaulter shall pay the fine
of one thousand naira
(N1,000).
2.Every correspondence during a
meeting shall be presented by either
the chairman/vice chairman or the
secretary/assistant secretary.
3.There shall be no fight of any kind
(physically and verbally)during
the meeting.Defaulters shall pay the
sum of three thousand
naira (N3,000).

Section 2:Abusive/Insulting words
Members are advised to relate with
fellow members with utmost respect
and
decorum.Abusive and insulting words
from a member against another
member is highly prohibited at all
times.If any member is found guilty of
this,the said member shall pay the sum
of five thousand naira (N5,000).

Section 3:Fighting
Any member of the age grade found to
have engaged in a fight shall pay the
fine of ten thousand naira
(N10,000).This shall be investigated
and decided
by the executives.

Section 4:Sabotage
Any act of sabotage from a member on
the age grade would be matched with
serious concern.If a member is found
guilty,the said member shall be
expelled from the age grade.
Sabotage includes but not limited to
spreading of false information,
defamation of the age grade and any
other act that is deemed detrimental to
the reputation of the age grade.

Section 5:Dispute
threatening a fellow member will lead
to a fine of 10,000 naira with 2 days
suspension with a
warning that if anything eventually
happen to the person,we will hold the
victim captive.
No member is allowed to take another
member to the police or court without
presenting the matter to the age grade
for possible in-house resolution.
(A)
fine of twenty thousand naira
(N20,000)shall be paid by any defaulter.
However,a member may involve the
police or relevant Nigerian authorities
if he is acting to prevent a time
sensitive crime.
Section b;General conduct on the
WhatsApp group
1.No advertising,copy and paste or
forwarding of any message shall be

allowed in the group unless it is
approved by the chairman or the vice
chairman.Should a member post any of
such by mistake,he is
allowed to delete it promptly.However,if
a member is in the habit of
spamming the group and after several
infractions,he shall pay the fine
of Three thousand naira (N3,000).
2.No jokes,religious comments of any
kind,hate speech,political posts
or discussions/campaigns,vulgar
language,adult materials or
anything that maybe considered
controversial,offensive or hurtful is
allowed.A fine of five thousand naira
(N5,000)shall be paid by
defaulters.
3.Any media(pictures/videos)that may
have direct benefit to members
of the age grade shall go through the
executives.A fine of two
thousand naira (N2,000)shall be paid
by defaulters.

4.Posting of birthday celebrations is
allowed but it must go through pro
.A fine of one thousand
naira(N1,000)shall be paid by
defaulters for not following the
due process
5.Announcements of any
invitation(wedding,child
dedication,etc.)
shall be go through the executive and
shall be done by the
chairman/vice chairman or the
secretary on the authorization of the
chairman.A fine of one thousand naira
(N1,000)shall be paid by
defaulters,

6.No voice note is allowed to exceed
three (3)minutes on the group.
A fine of five hundred naira only
(N5,00)shall be paid by defaulters.
7.No member is permitted to continue
on a topic that has been
concluded or ruled on by the
chairman.A fine of one thousand naira
(N1,000)shall be paid by defaulters.
(iii.)
The following shall be the
signalories to the bank account;
a)The Chairman
b)The Financial Secretary
c)The Treasurer
ARTICLE 9:ACCOUNTING

Section 1:Books of Account
The executive committee shall keep a
proper book of account concerning all
the
sums of money received and expended
by the organization.
Section 2:Financial Statements
The executive committee shall from
time to time make available the
financial
statements of the age grade's account
to be prepared and audited before the
age
grade's general meeting.
Section 3:Membership Right to
financial statements
Every member shall be entitled to a
copy of the age grade's financial
statements.
Section 4:Inspections
The books of account shall be kept at
such a place or places as the executive
committee deems fit and shall always
be open for inspection at any given
time by
members.

Section 5:Audit
The account of the age grade shall be
audited from time to time.This audit
exercise shall be a minimum of once
every twelve(12)calendar month.
Section 6:Bank Account
i. The age grade shall maintain a bank
account with a reputable bank in
Nigeria.
ii. There shall be three (3)signatories to
the age grade's bank account

ARTICLE 10:OFFICIALS
Section 1:Executive Officers
The Executive members of Ebube mba
age grade shall comprise of the
following officers:
1.The Chairman
2.The Vice-Chairman
3.The Secretary
4.The Assistant Secretary
5.The Treasurer
6.The Financial Secretary
7.The Publicity Secretary/Public
Relation Officer (PRO)
8 The Proyost
Section 2:Duties of the Executives
1.The Chairman: 26
i.Presides over all the meeting of the
age grade.
ii. Maintains the operational system of
the age grade.
iii.Ensures the smooth and peaceful
organization of the age
grade.
iv. Authorizes in case of an emergency
an expenditure not
exceeding the sum of thirty thousand
naira (N30,000)but
with the approval of the executives.
V
Has the right to decide the venue to
host and hold the
meetings of both the general age grade
and the executive
arm of the age grade.
vi. Signs all minutes of both the
general age grade and the
executive arm of the age grade.
vii. Has an overriding vote in case of a
tie during a meeting
but not during an election.
viii. Ensures the formation of an
electoral body committee
during an election year.

2.The vice-Chairman:
i. The vice-chairman shall with the
chairman administer
and manage the affairs of the age
grade.
ii. In the absence of the chairman,the
vice-chairman shall
assume the duties of the chairman.

3.The Secretary:
i.Be responsible for the general record
keeping of the age
grade.
ii. Ensures that all the minutes and
other documents of the
age grade are well signed off,prepared
and preserved.
iii. Convenes the meetings of the age
grade through circular,
SMS,WhatsApp and any other means
but must be
authorized by the chairman.
iv. Writes and reads the minutes of
both the general age
grade's meeting and that of the
executives.
v. l
Keeps the age grade's records and
correspondence up-to-
date.
4 The Assistant Secretary 29
i. The assistant secretary shall always
be available to assist
the secretary when the need arises.
5.The Treasurer:
i. He shall receive all monies such as
dues,levies,fines,
etc.and issue receipt where necessary
on behalf of the
age grade.
ii. Ensures that the age grade
cheques,cash,bills,vouchers
and letters authorizing payments are
kept safe.
iii. In collaboration with the financial
secretary,he shall
deposit to the age grade's bank
account all cash collected
on behalf of the age grade within three
(3)working days
of the said collection.

6.The Financial Secretary:
i. He shall be responsible for the
collection ofevery due,
levy,donation,etc.on behalf of the age
grade.
ii. Keeps an accurate and clear account
of all monies and
renders a clear and simple to
understand account when
needed.
iii. Pays into the age grade's bank
account all the monies
cullected and obtains receipts from the
treasurer where
necessary,
7.The Publicity Secretary: 31
i. He shall carry out all the media
publications on the
approval of the chairman.
ii. He shall also act as the public
relation officer of the age
grade.
8.The Provost:
i.He shall deliver all circulars prepared
by the secrelary
with the approval of the chairman.
ii. He shall maintain peace and order
during meetings.
iii. He shall be on ground to render all
forms of assistance to
members during social gatherings and
meetings.
iv. He shall be ready to go on any
errand on behalf of the
age grade.The cost of such errands
shall be covered in
full by the age grade.He shall also
receive some
incentives to empower and encourage
him.
ARTICLE 11:ELECTION AND TENURE
OF OFFICE 32
1.All the officers of the age grade must
be elected during a
convened general election of the age
grade.
2.Elections shall hold every three
(3)years and between four (4)
to two(2)months to the end of every
current term.
3.Only financial members :means
Members who are financially up to date
in ebube mba age
grade and who has been a
member for a minimum of one(1)year
shall be eligible to stand
for an election to hold any executive
position in the age grade.
4.Only a financial member;Member
who is financially up to date is eligible
to nominate a
member for
an elective position and shall be
seconded by another financial
member.

5.Nomination for the office of the
chairman must be a well-
known financial member;A Member
who is financially up to date,respected
and of a good
reputation,
b.The voting system shall be decided
by the electoral body
conducting the election.
7.The candidates with the highest
number of votes shall be
declared winner for the offices in which
they were elected into.
8.Every tenure ends after two(2)years.
9.There shall be a two term eligibility
for all executive positions.
ARTICLE 12:MEETINGS

Section 1:General Meeting
1.The general meeting of the age grade
shall hold before the end of
every month.
2.The date of the general meeting shall
be decided by the executives.
3.There shall be no meeting for the
month of January.
4.The chairman and his executives
shall ensure a physical meeting
every December.The venue,date and
modalities shall be decided by
the chairman.
5.In every online meeting,the chairman
must give a minimum of
twenty-four (24)hours to enable every
member to participate and
contribute with his suggestion.
6.The chairman shall always allow for
any other business (AOB)in
every general meeting to allow
members to raise issues as it concerns
them
Section 2:Executive Committee
Meeting
The Executives shall meet whenever
the chairman calls for a meeting.

ARTICLE 13:EXECUTIVE OBLIGATION
Section 1:Elections
The Executives shall constitute a
group of people who must be active
members,this group shall be called the
electoral body/committee.
The Chairman shall set up this
electoral body a minimum of three (3)
months to the end of a tenure.
They shall conduct a free and fair
election.In the case of any proven
sharp
practice in the form of election
malpractice such as rigging,the
chairman
with his executives shall punish the
offender(s).Punishments shall be either
or a combination of
expulsion,suspension or fine at the
discretion of the
executives
No outgoing member is allowed to be
part of this electoral committee.

Section 2:Events
The Chairman shall set up a committee
that shall handle an event whenever
the age grade is invited Ior an
event;the said committee shall consist
of at
least three(3)non-executive members
and shall be known as the Event
Committee.
The Executives shall ensure that the
benefits of the age grade as
concerning
foods and drinks is adequate as stated
in article 5 number 5 of this
constitution
Ih the case of inadequate provisions of
foods and drinks as stated in article 5
number 5 by the inviter to the age
grade,the executives shall determine
the
necessary sanction or penalty in line
with what was or was not provided.
ARTICLE
14:IMPEACHMENT/RESIGNATION 37
Section 1:Impeachment
1.Any executive member who is found
culpable of the following
shall be impeached but must mect the
requircment of a
minimum of2/3 ofthe members present
in the meeting.
2.These are the grounds for
impeachment;Rape,Robbery,
lampered or an attempt to tamper with
the age grade's money,
having a sexual relationship with a
fellow member's wife.
3.Other offences shall be deemed
enough grounds for
impeachment if 2/3 of the members
present in the meeting
decides that such an offence is worthy
of an impeachment.
4.A vacant position as a result of an
impeachment shall be filled
up within three (3)weeks.
5.Any member who was impeached
shall not be eligible to stand
for an election or hold any executive
position until a minimum
pcriod of ninc (9)ycars.
6.Any executive member deemed inactive
shall be subject to impeachment, pending
aproval from the general house, This ensures
accountability and active participation from
our leadership.

ARTICLE 15:AMENDMENT
The constitution shall be subject to
amendment once every two(2)years
and such
amendments shall be effected if it is
approved by a minimum of 2/3 of the
members present in the meeting.

Section 2:Resignation
1.A member is frcc to resign his
position and office if his reasons are
considered good enough by a
minimum of 2/3 of the members
present in the
meeting where his resignation was
read.In the case of the resignation not
being accepted,such an executive shall
continue with his duty or pay a fine
of Five thousand naira (N5,000).
2.A resignation shall be valid if it is
read,accepted and ratified in the
general
meeting
